I arrived for an appointment with an external service based at the surgery. I walked into the surgery with the receptionist bellowing my name out. She continued to tell me I was late for my appointment and doubted if I would be seen. Instead of checking with the ophthalmologist waiting for me, she carried on seeing to other people in the queue, completely dismissing me. 10 minutes later she went off to check by which time the ophthalmologist who by this point was probably preparing for the next patient. The receptionist did everything in her power to belittle me & repeatedly telling me I was late… as though I were a child. Disgraceful behaviour!! How can the people with no manners be employed to do these jobs !!! A poor advocate for the surgery in my opinion, this was my first and last visit to this surgery. If Hailey View Surgery cannot handle external clinics setting up within their building, they should not rent the space out, especially with staff as rude as that manning the reception desk.

I had a consultation with the pharmacist and must say he was great. Nothing was too much trouble when I was asking questions, he gave me some good insight into my blood test results and acted very promptly with getting me new medication.

It was easy to get a prompt appointment. I was seen within a few minutes of arriving. The staff were proactive, which led to a very efficient diagnosis and onward appointments were made immediately. This was enhanced by their systems which were joined up and speeded the whole process.

I put in an E consult on Friday 2nd Feb regarding swollen and painful leg. I received a response within 15 minutes, was seen by a GP 2 hours later ( I was offered a quicker appointment but couldn’t get there ) . Within 23hrs I had been blood tested, referred for a scan, contacted by another Hailey view GP, put on preventative medication, scanned and told some good news from the scan ( no DVT). The way I was treated by Hailey view triage, receptionist and GP was outstanding, thank you so much.

I’ve requested 3x for a sick note after waiting 8 days before requesting.. still didn’t get it instead They send automated messages saying you have to wait 7 days without even looking at my request and seeing I’ve already been sick for over 7 days. The only way to get them to do anything is to physically go there and then if the same happens to you they will let you stand at the front desk for 15 minutes and ignore you. They also no longer accept e consults unless you do it sat 8am and when you call you get disconnected multiple times I I’ve been waiting 16 days now for them to contact me regarding a 111 referral (which was my only option since they don’t accept consults) it seems the only thing they are good at is making your life as difficult as possible when you are already dealing with a chronic illness.

On 29 January I phoned the surgery and got straight through to a receptionist. I explained I was extremely short of breath and asked for an appointment. I was told the duty doctor would be contacted and in less than 30 minutes you rang back and confirmed a 4.30 p.m. appointment. At that appointment it was detetmined my oxygen levels were much too low and you arranged for an ambulance to take me to Harlow Hospital where your diagnosis of pneumonia was confirmed. I am hoping to be discharged tomorrow but I wanted to say thank you for the splendid way you dealt with me. We have been with your surgery since moving to Hoddesdon in 1970 and have always been impressed. Thank you for keeping up the standards in these days of increased pressure. We are really grateful.

Rang up today got told by the receptionist I would receive a call back within an 1hr 8hrs later I received a call ..absolute joke

April 2023 I had a bad leg injury and was treated by the nursing team for approximately 5 months, twice a week at the beginning. They were so helpful, caring and reassured me all through the treatment. I just want to say a big thank you to them. I would just like to add that I am always able to get an appointment, usually within 2 days following filling in an online request. I am so glad that me, along with some of my family can reply on such a helpful practice.

They only give out lab results between one and two. Yet when you phone message says closed for staff training , this has been like this now for two days. How are we supposed to get results?

I was called for a routine annual appointment. My appointment was for 9.00 am and I was called in on time. The doctor could not have been more welcoming even though we had never met before. She listened and had read my notes before hand and so our ‘chat’ was productive. I was also able to discuss other issues and did not feel at all rushed. There were 2 actions arising from the appointment which were added to the doctors not inconsiderable pile. I received a text at the end of the day to arrange a referral and the following day another text to pick up paperwork. The doctor could not have been any more efficient! I cannot fault the empathy shown or the follow up.
