Review titled Poor communication and care for elderly
Rated 2 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 28 September 2024
Trying to get a home visit for my 90+ mum was such a struggle I had to get in touch with a third party. After that she had one visit where blood was taken (as requested weeks before following a hospital visit). Impossible to get appointment (as requested) to get bloods results. Now mum in hospital due to dangerously low sodium. This should have been picked up and maybe she wouldn't be in hospital now. Communication needsto improve. Care and concern for the elderly is essential. Don't turn people away at reception when you can see they need help. Some people can't stay on phone for hours on end. Please be mindful of your role in the care of the community. It is important.

Review titled Worse experience
by Tayyaba - Posted on 17 September 2024
Actually my son had blood test prescribed by his GP, he had from heartland hospital on July this year 2024, and still we didn’t get any result report from our GP surgery, I called hall green GP surgery and there they said we didn’t received from hospital, we don’t have your son blood test result. You need to call to the hospital. I said, then why you are our surgery you should check to the hospital that why they didn’t send you. GP should get it. But hall green surgery informed me that we don’t have and you need to call to hospital. Then she just hang my phone. I just called to the hospital. They were saying GP surgery will tell you, we have already sent the result to hall green GP, where your kid is registered. I told them, I have spoken already to surgery but they saying you need to contact hospital. That’s not fair. She just said we have sent you need to call them and ask your GP. Actually surgery tells a lie. If they have already result and GP can contact to hospital though. Why they hide and lie from the patient. They don’t value and respect their patients.

Review titled Excellent
Rated 4 stars out of 5
by Denise - Posted on 09 May 2024
I needed an urgent appointment for stomach pains. Filled in the online request form and was contacted within half an hour by the practice, offered a face to face appointment that day. I was seen by a gp who was very thorough and reassuring. I have since needed a further appointment and was advised to ring at 8.30am. I did and again was given an appointment face to face for the same day. I know the pressure that gp practices are facing at the moment but can honestly say I was very impressed with my experience today and over the last few weeks. Thank you

Review titled Never on time for appointments but expect patients to be.
Rated 1 star out of 5

I have been to hall green health and the Shirley road surgery multiple times over the past year and each appointment has always been late however, if you are late to an appointment the practice does not always allow you to attend the appointment. Example, I have had an appointment today for my daughter that is under 1, the appointment was booked for 4.30pm and I am still sat waiting at 4.56pm, they definitely need to work on their timing skills, if they are unable to keep the appointment at the given time they should update and contact the patients as not being able to be seen at the time stated can cause problems for the service user.

Review titled Taken off a waiting list.
Rated 3 stars out of 5
by David Hehir - Posted on 11 March 2024
So I was on a waiting list to have minor surgery at HGH to have what was left of a Cyst on my shoulder that's bothersome, just after covid I enquired if I was still on the list and was told I was but they were making some adjustments to the room, filtration system or something along those lines ( making it safe to be in because of covid ). So Last week when I was at the surgery I enquired again only to be told they'd look into it and get back to me, had a text message today saying that they've looked into it and that I wasn't on the list but I am now but the list is a long one because of the NHS backlog, but when there is an appointment available the " Hospital " will contact me directly?? I was supposed to be having a minor surgery procedure at HGH not at a hospital. So I rang the surgery to be told the same thing by a young woman who by the sounds of it was more interested in having a conversation with her colleagues than answering the phone properly. I don't understand how someone can be removed from a waiting list.

Dear Patient, Thank you for providing feedback. We are sorry to hear that you were dissatisfied with the service provided. We believe the text message you received recently was partially incorrect, as you are currently on our waiting list. It is unclear why you were not previously added to the list, as agreed; however, given the history of your request, we have requested that your name be prioritised on the list, which I hope will reduce the waiting period. If you would like this to be investigated further, please fill out our feedback form on our website, www.hallgreenhealth.co.uk, and our Quality Assurance Officer will contact you. Many thanks, Hall Green Health

Review titled Uncaring

I had a heart by pass surgery. On discharge from hospital I was given a large amount of new medication (I am diabetic and on other medicines). On the 2nd day of my discharge, I requested a home visit by a professional, to explain my meds to me. Some of the replies, I got are frankly stupid and disturbing from a GP practice : a) bring your meds for a face to face at the surgery. Oh yh ? After a heart surgery ? B) we can only explain the meds over the phone. Oh yes. Amazing response to a patient just after major surgery. C) sorry we can't do anything else, you can call 111. This practice believes that all its customers are quite clever, and all can understand a huge amount of medical info over the phone. Shocking assumptions !! Suppose the patient misunderstands the phone info ? (Education, language, cultural obstacles ??. Clearly, the practice has not included all these obstacles) It is clear that the practice has no capacity to handle such major issues. Profit making from medical assistance, has eroded capacity to assist its patients. Useless staff training has made the practice response a danger to its patients. Obviously, training is needed to provide a more intelligent response (because they are dealing with persons who need medical assistance (i.e. not a retail store)

Review titled Repeat prescription

My husband handed in a repeat request on Monday. It was physically handed in and was from the back of ongoing scripts and in an envelope clearly marked with several methods of contacting us. This was not sent to the chemist by Friday of that week. Monday to Friday and still not sent. My husband has heart failure and is reliant on these drugs. Why, when you say 48-72 hours does it take more than five working days and it’s still not done? If we request early we are told it is too early so what is the answer???? Tell me!!!!!!

Review titled Horrendous

Can’t book a health review at surgery, they won’t give my inhalers until I have one. Gp texted me to book an appointment regarding 3 year issue of migraines. Can’t book until I go online to 2 different websites that don’t allow you to book emergency appointments. Website says I need an emergency appointment. Surgery won’t allow to book at their site. Phones always engaged. They change their policies regular but don’t inform reception staff. No one here knows where to send patients so they send you wherever they want. I am waiting for 2 hours to have a blood test and yet I still have around 15 ppl ahead of me. This is just my experience today. Previous experiences include testing positive to coeliac disease and gp not telling me until a year later when I tested positive again. Lots and lots more negatives. Now time to change gp
