My family have been attending the practice for a number of years, and many relatives have accessibility needs or no access to the Internet. The receptionist was extremely rude to my grandmother when she explained that she couldn't make an appointment via the Internet and cannot drive over as she is disabled and elderly. The receptionist rudely stated that she can't call to make appointments. The Modality website directs people to call if they don't have reliable access or can't make it to the practice. Very disappointing.

I’d like to give some positive feedback for Haworth practice… having had a problem that I knew I should get checked out for a few weeks, I called today at 8am, was 18th in Queue, 13 minutes later I spoke to a lovel receptionist who asked me some important details. I was then given a call back by the advanced nurse practitioner David, who rang me within half an hour. I then had a face to face appointment by 10am. By 11am I had my medication from the dispensary and blood test taken. Absolutely marvellous service all round. All kind, compassionate and professional. I understand people get angry when they can’t get through on the phone or can’t get an appointment- but this is purely because there aren’t enough GPs and staff to deal with the demand… we have the government to blame for that, not modality and certainly not the lovely staff of Haworth. Thank you and remember to be kind everyone

I tried to contact Haworth medical practice in December but couldn't get through, I tried again this morning but again the lines were so busy I couldn't get through. Thinking I could maybe make an appointment later this week I phoned after 11am only to be told the next available appointment was in two weeks time and only a telephone appointment. I tried the triage system on line but that's no available. I phoned 111 and learned that they were so busy I would have to wait but I could try their online system. I went online to 111 and completed the questionnaire only to be told to contact my GP surgery or phone 111. There was a time when you could book a face to face appointment with a doctor but now it seems it's a 'Health professional' who promise to phone you back but rarely do. Since Modality took over the practice the service has gone down hill and almost disappeared, how on earth do they get awards?

We are currently experiencing increased demand on our telephone lines and our patient services team has been working very hard to answer calls under the additional pressure. I recognise that difficulties in accessing the Practice can be extremely frustrating for our patients and I apologise unreservedly for any upset or inconvenience. I am sorry that when you contacted the surgery you could not be offered an appointment. We are currently experiencing increased demand on our services and only have a limited number of appointments available. Contacted for an urgent appointment, pressed 1 for call back from the options. Surgery phoned me back within the hour noted my concerns and added to call back list from Gp. Gp called me back within an hour and arranged treatment for management of my medical condition. The lady who initially contacted me was very professional and kind. The Gp was also very professional and kind. Thankyou everyone at Haworth surgery.

I have been trying to get an appointment with this surgery for over a week. Whenever I call the waiting times on the phone are either really high or the message says they are only taking emergency appointments. I called the surgery this morning at 8am and the message said if my call was for a ‘routine appointment’ to call back after 11am when the lines are quieter. I have called back at 11am and the message now states that the surgery is now only making ‘emergency’ appointments and all slots have been taken for the day. The message recommends to go online to complete a ‘triage form’. I have gone online and the triage facility has been turned off and it directs me to call for an appointment…its like going around in circles. I have used this surgery for almost 10 years and never had any issues but in the last 18 months it has become particularly difficult to speak to anyone or make an appointment. The last time I had to call for an appointment I was on hold for 1 hour and 45 minutes, thankfully I had a day off so I was able to wait for my call to be answered. My appointment is for an ongoing issue which I do not see as an ‘emergency’ but I do need to be seen and need some help. I would be happy if they gave me an appointment in two weeks just so I knew I had an appointment but that doesn’t even seem to be an option.
