Filled in online appointment form and received a call with same day appointment within 20 minutes. Staff friendly and efficient. Physio was attentive and understanding. I feel completely reassured being part of this surgery. Thank you for meeting my requests so efficiently.

The Nurse I saw was lovely, my experience with her was fine , I took a list of my blood pressure over the last five days , didn’t realise the nurses no longer did it , really struggled with the pod as did the lady before me she left as the stress made her bp raise , I left not completing my test as I couldn’t seem to work it , please remember weee not all Savy enough to use it , thankyou

Dear Mrs Ellis Thank you for your compliment for the nurse and I am sorry that you had a difficulty using the new pod at the surgery. We have introduced the pods to allow patients to come and take their blood pressure reading at the surgery at their convenience. I will ensure your feedback is passed to the management. If you do get stuck in the future then please feel free to ask a nurse you are seeing for assistance, or alternatively speak to one of the reception team members at the front-desk. Waited two days for a return phone call which never happened! Finished up arguing with the receptionist! Now I have to wait until monday!! Very annoying and frustrating! also very very worrying times ahead I'm afraid!!! P.s. try not to be ill !!!!!

Depending on the type of appointment you are requesting it takes 5 working days for the duty doctor to review routine appointment requests and same day GP appointment requests are usually reviewed on the day. I am sorry that we had not met your expectations on this occassion. Thankyou for the phonecalls text support , you have given me whilst I was experiencing symptoms of a torn jaw muscle , anxiety , depression , heartrate I feel 90% healed with jaw now thankyou

I felt the need to give a good review about this surgery. On the last three occasions I have needed this service within the last year, I have always been able to speak to the receptionist without waiting too long in a queue and they are always polite and efficient. A follow up triage phone call has usually been no more than one hour later and if required have been given an appointment that same day. I have found the doctors very thorough and didn’t feel rushed given a plan of action that will help my health issues. Even better now that I can receive a text message regarding test results and any further action. In the last 2 years the surgery seems to have improved in all areas. I think the staff deserve some recognition for all their hard work.

Had an appointment 4/7/23 and was given a follow up appointment for 7/7/23. Arrived on time for my appointment to be told it was a mistake, it was a phone call not a face to face appointment and someone would call that day. On the NHS app it said 4.20 pm but nobody called. The lack of care at this surgery is appalling. As this is Friday I will now have to wait until Monday to get any answers.

I left a review in July of this year, I have checked the feedback page for Haxby and see that most people have had a reply, alas I have not. I did have a number of missed calls from Haxby HQ with a message saying they would call me back, but no information regarding how I could contact them or how to return the call to discuss. I have heard nothing more for some weeks.

Been waiting 7 weeks for a routine appointment but in the meantime for the last two weeks suffering with pain in my left side and lower back, need advise about what painkillers are suitable as l am on some regular meds that react lberprofen ect. Did the online thing and got a text saying telephone appointment Tuesday afternoon. On my app it gave a time of 13.20 to 13.40checked my mobile at 1 15 and realised l had two missed calls at 10.58 from doctors surgery so waited until 2.00 then rang them to be told l would be getting a call sometime that afternoon. No call but now showing a missed appointment on my record due to calling in the morning instead of the afternoon apparently its my fault for not answering the phone. I was home from 11.15 for the rest of the day mobile and landlines both show missed calls just before 11 am.

I had a mental health crisis over some months beginning in April 2023, I had a good experience with one of the GPs to begin with, but my treatment thereafter was very poor, from the reception staff, to the other GPs in general. I was told that I did not need an urgent appointment and that I would be given a routine appointment when one became available (however, no one could tell me when that would be!) I was in extreme distress and both my husband and myself were at our wits end. I eventually called in by chance at The Ellis Centre, was seen by a very kind receptionist who recognised my extreme condition and I was seen the following morning by a Consultant Psychiatrist who was able to commence appropriate treatment and medication. I have since made a full recovery but sadly no thanks to Haxby Group Practice. I have considered changing my GP surgery but thankfully have not needed to attend any further. I feel that as soon as someone presents with mental health issues, including extreme anxiety and depression, everyone just assumes that it is a character flaw. I have however been a health care professional since 1981, I have had mental health struggles over the years, as a consequence of historical trauma, but have always recovered and returned to work each time. Sad to say, the treatment I received is not the kind of care I would wish to give to my patients.

I have now been waiting nearly 3 months to get an appointment as I am meant to have regular monthly appointments due to my condition. Suffering with extreme pain and tried to get an urgent appointment only to be told that I am only going to get a regular routine appointment. I am seriously considering making a formal complaint to the NHS regarding this as my condition worsening means I have to be seen as soon as possible. I struggle to walk now and still can’t be seen at all. Ridiculous!!
