    I filled in an online form this morning to request a face to face appointment. I didn't expect to hear immediately but a text came very quickly offering me a same day appointment. The doctor had a lovely manner, asked lots of questions and listened to me. She recommended some tests and I was able to get a blood test with the practice nurse (who is great) straight away because of a no show. There had been four no shows that day which is very difficult for the nurses. The gentleman on reception was also very helpful. I feel that things are improving at the practice from my experience today. Thank you to everyone who helped me today.

    Tried to multiple times to get an appointment or speak to a doctor. I was then told I wasn’t going to be seen for my injuries and they couldn’t give me any treatment, they then directed me to a walk-in centre of which I got the same response and still with no treatment.

    GP was knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. Reception was friendly and helpful. Parking was easy. Would recommend.

  4. Review titled Can’t get a prescription right, despite 4 interactions

    Was prescribed an item, which pharmacy had but not in the prescribed quantity and so required a new prescription - simply to update the quantity to what was available at the pharmacy (the prescribed quantity was not available at all). Went back to practice, explained the situation and was told it would be done. It wasn’t, called 2 more times over next few days - told it would be done ‘later’ - it wasn’t. Finally called again today, expressed my dismay and was delighted to finally get a text to say that my prescription was at the pharmacy. Collected it, have just opened the bag to find it is the wrong item (they had mentioned they could prescribe this alternative item, but I explained that would not work as this other item has less potency). It should not be this hard to get a simple prescription. This is not lack of resources or funding, it is basic incompetency.

    I like being able to do things online, because it’s usually more convenient and it’s not tied to specific operating hours. Unfortunately the appointment system here is not convenient and doesn’t make anything easier. It’s an online form that only works in specific hours. It’s like having a banking website that only works 9-5. Naively, I thought I could just pop in to the GP and make an appointment that way instead, but was told I have to use the form to request an appointment. So I looked at form again and at the top of the form it says the request will be reviewed within 2 working days. I just wanted to get an appointment to speak with a doctor about my illness and see if I need any medication. Easier to go to the walk-in centre I think. I do think that your appointment system acts more as a barrier than an enabler. Your online form only works at certain times which is the opposite of what an online system should be like, and online form or not, we should still be allowed to walk in to the GP and ask for an appointment.

    Received a text message "We have noticed that your records show you are a smoker". I have never smoked in my life. Very concerned that my notes are inaccurate. Very serious misrepresentation.

    New appointments system is a disappointment. Basically they have gone for a triage system more or less similar to the one they had during the height of the covid era. I filled in the form then got directed to another form which gives you options to book on various dates and/or times. But you don't get the option to know which Doctor you can see. So basically the practice has become faceless and there is no opportunity for you to develop a relationship with a particular GP. I have gone through a series of locums and GPs at this practice and frankly dislike this. I hanker for the old days that I saw one GP and one GP only. Very disappointed. Time to find an old fashioned GP that understands the point of technology - it is not to alienate patients in the manner which I feel the practice has begun to alienate me. The whole point of local GP practices is that we are involved in our own care and that we see the GP we want. This is not what is happening here. If this is the future then might as well close this place down and have a central hub of anonymous Drs and patients.

    The service I have received from this practice has been non existent. No doctor appts or nurse appt. I am just told to go to the walk-in. Absolutely pointless.

    Blood test today. HCA put on a torn plaster. I did not notice. When I got home I saw that blood had poured out spilt all over my top and my shorts. Not very professional job.

    Popped in and asked for face to face appointment with my normal Dr. I prefer continuity and the relationship build up over many years. Also dealing with locums (i.e. contractors) and other Drs can be quite painful. Was told that the appointment could not be booked because the Dr is on holiday. I said I could wait for the Dr to come back but was told that was not possible. So I asked who was available and was told that they can't give me an appointment because all slots taken for the next two weeks and they only book for face to face appointments in the next two weeks. To be perfectly clear the receptionist (at Knaphill) was perfectly civil, polite and friendly. No problem with her. The issue poor management of face to appointments. They sent out a message some months ago saying that we would be be able to book appointments with the a specific Dr when we want. This is obviously not true. No such thing is done.
