Review titled Genuinely Great Practice
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Christina Douglas - Posted on 17 October 2024
Greeted with the sound of Classic fm… a nice welcome. I needed to see a doctor urgently this morning. I managed to get a slot two hours later. The receptionists were knowledgeable, very polite and engaging. The doctor is examined me and is sending me to do various tests and a thorough investigation for my problems. The doctor was kind, efficient, patient and thorough. I feel very blessed. Thank you 😊

Review titled Great practice
Rated 1 star out of 5

my english is not very good whenever I call, if they don't understand me, they pretend they don't hear me and hang up the phone. I have different illnesses, I always make my appointments a week ahead. and the ladies at the reception are very rasist.

Review titled The worst practice
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Helen - Posted on 11 July 2024
The GP supposed to issued me the x ray form after phone consultation on 26th June. I went in a week after the call, she hasn’t issued the x ray form. The receptionist said she would remind the GP and has sent her an email. A week pass by, I went in again and still no x ray form. Another receptionist said there wasn’t any note in the system that previous receptionist said she sent an email to the GP. This receptionist said to me she couldn’t help me because the GP wasn’t in until tomorrow afternoon. Seriously, I wanted to cry at the clinic because I am in pain and need an x ray to see what wrong with my arm. I am very disappointed in this clinic and staff that they are so unreliable and clueless and really made me feel that I’m living in the underdeveloped country. Anytime when I phoned, I would be in 6th-8th in the queue, an hour before they would answer my call. NHS is not free, I pay tax for it. England is not 3rd world country but because people like you lot at this clinic make NHS bad.

Review titled Was hoping to register
Rated 3 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 11 April 2024
I phoned mid-afternoon to ask about registering with this practice and how to get an appointment. A recorded message advised I was first in the queue. I waited over 9 minutes then hung up. I will have to register elsewhere. A pity as I understand the GPs are good.

Review titled almost impossible to get through to surgery on phone
Rated 3 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 05 April 2024
I appreciate there are numerous patients but it is so ba trying to get through on the phone at 8am!!! Today I have so far dialled 90 times!!! The other option is to stand outside until they open, not great on a wet and windy day!!! When you do eventually get through, which is probably 830, guess what, no appointments available!! Surely there must be a better system when you need to see a doctor!! I appreciate things were difficult during covid but sadly there is no improvment now!! Not sure if there is a shortage of doctors at Highlands or what else??

Review titled Unable to make an appointment or contact practice
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Dr Eric Toni - Posted on 22 March 2024
I telephoned at 08.05 on Friday 22/03/24. There was a recorded message and then I was cut off. This practice does not have an online booking system either and no visible complaints procedure

It’s surprising I can’t mention name , the doc I attended today was self obsessed, doesn’t wanted to ans your queries and just do whatever he has told you to do . Rediculous! I have a 2 yr old yr baby and he was not happy about me asking him questions.

Review titled Excellent Experience
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by John Bennett - Posted on 05 January 2024
Today was the review of my previous appointment last friday when I was seen by one of the Nurses about my Bed Sore picked up recently in a Nottingham Hospital. In both appointments the Nurse in question was extremely efficient, effective and did it all with a smile and great personality. She explained everything about my issue and it has now been totally resolved at the second appointment. This particular Nuse is to be highly recommended for her performance and is certainly an asset to the practice.

Review titled Ridiculous policy
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Warren Dempster - Posted on 27 December 2023
This practice is an absolute joke, I have just called to make an appointment only to be told "we don't do that anymore", I have to call at 8am on the day that I want to attend and hope they have space!! I work for a living and am not allowed to carry my phone with me, and don't have access to landlines, what am I supposed to do? I was happy to wait days or weeks as it's not an emergency but to be told that I cannot make an appointment for days or even weeks in the future is ridiculous, and thank you to the unhelpful staff member on the phone (when I eventually got through). Do yourself a favour and go elsewhere.

Review titled Extenely poor

Submitted 2 requests in 3 days for GP to contact me via Patches. I came off a 6 hour flight and developed breathing problems. No response. Today I called NHS 111 and visited Chase Farm urgent care. Sent to A and E immediately to investigate suspected pulmonary embolism, which is potentially fatal. Great job Highlands Practice! Who vets Patches requests? Clearly this system doesn’t work or isn’t monitored by doctors. In addition, letters from private doctors/hospitals don’t seem to get to any of the GPs.
