  1. Review titled Extremely poor service

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Sharon Green - Posted on 12 December 2024

My long-term medication apparently can't be sent without a review by a pharmacist despite it being prescribed by an endocrinologist at the hospital. I also receive regular texts telling me I need a blood test for my long term condition (of which I have more than one) before I can get my meds. All my conditions are monitored by specialists at the hospital. The GP surgery does the incorrect test for my condition as they are not specialists and I have told the practice many times. It is impossible to reply to texts as they only send no-reply messages. It is impossible contact anyone because the telephone line has constant queues and the receptionist wouldn't be able to help I imagine. The online system shuts down as soon as appointments are booked up so you can't even message to ask a question. I would like to know why I need a review from a pharmacist and a blood test that I don't even know which condition it is for and would likely be incorrect and why the practice has stopped 100mg of a medicine but allowed the other 75mg of the same medicine to go through. But mainly I would like to know why it is utterly impossible to just contact a person by text or email or online and ask simple questions. And why don't all the nhs systems collaborate.? No doubt the practice will now leave the usual non-commital reply about trying hard to improve and how sorry they are without actually helping.

  2. Review titled Closed for business

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Martin Whiteley - Posted on 20 November 2024

Suffering from high blood pressure a new drug has been offered. After taking the pill for 14 days and monitoring my own blood pressure. I have attempted to contact Holycroft surgery, Thursday 1500 hrs with the results of the new drug hoping that if the results are acceptable the drug can be prescribed on a regular basis. Even the remote access is closed. This service offered by Modality awc is not fit for purpose.

Since holycroft surgery joined Modality it's gone downhill, really bad, firstly I can't get past the receptionist, who say they'll male a note and send to Dr's...I never get a call back, amd it took me weeks to get my prescription changed, which made me so ill,Modality is the worst thing to happen to this surgery!

  4. Review titled Several attempts to be seen..to end up in a and e

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 09 October 2024

3 online forms completed- doctor did ring however just passed off as "viral". 3 times passed off. I was so unwell I went to a and e to be told severe cellulitis and need a IV antibiotic. If a doctor had actually seen me rather than me sending photos having a chat it probably wouldn't have been as bad. A and e was so busy with similar stories of people who cannot physically see a doctor..... GPs are not helping the a and e crisis

  5. Review titled Poor sevice

Everytime I try to make an appointment on line it comes up with service not available. This is before closing time and not on a Thursday when you all have a day off! Imagine how many more patients you would be able to see. I intend to report the Modility trust to my MP as its not fit for purpose.

  6. Review titled Time is important they help when they can

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Marilyn Susan Turner - Posted on 06 July 2024

I did manage to see a doctor after doing an online application and was treated well - had blood tests as requested and results where something needed checking out. received a text requesting blood tests in a months time and have made this appointment I still have symptons and on the 30/07/24 was sent a text stating that a telephone appointment had been made re my symptons - i kept my phone with me but had no call.I appreciate and respect that surgery is busy but for me a follow up on my symptons is important.I have resorted to wait until my 2nd blood results have been done to again speak to a doctor

  7. Review titled Almost impossible to get an appointment

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Lou - Posted on 17 June 2024

When you actually manage to get an appointment with a doctor, I have to say they are very good - knowledgeable, kind and compassionate. However the process of actually getting an appointment is unnecessarily arduous. Filling in the online form is ridiculous and takes an inordinate amount of time. Both the website and posters within the surgery say you can ring up for an appointment or get one in person but in practise staff absolutely refuse to this and will only direct you to the website form. This is far too long and onerous when you are feeling really ill and I feel sorry for those of the older generation that might not be as au fait with technology. When you do submit a request for an appointment… well let’s just say if it’s not life threatening or hanging off, it will be classed as ‘routine’ and good luck getting an appointment any time this century. I waited almost 6 weeks. Also, have been twice to make an enquiry at the front desk and the person did not know how to answer the question, just told me to come back another time - not easy when you are working the other side of Bradford every day! Would definitely not recommend this practise at all. Shame because the actual doctors are good… you just can’t see one when you need to!

Dear Lou, I am sorry that when you contacted the surgery you could not be offered an appointment. We are currently experiencing increased demand on our services and only have a limited number of appointments available. Unfortunately we are not able to offer above this limited demand as we must ensure patient safety. Please be assured our clinicians are working to their full capacity and new appointments are available daily. Kind regards Frankie Patient Experience Team

  8. Review titled pensioner

Rated 1 star out of 5

by pensioner - Posted on 15 April 2024

why are you making it so hard for pensioners to contact you about medication. We were not brought up with computers therefore find it very difficult to make an appointment. I need to talk to a doctor about my prescription but the receptionist keeps saying that I have to do it on line. I hope you can see where I am coming from.

Dear Patient Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. I apologise that you have not been supported when you have tried to get help for your prescription query. Our Patient Service Assistant (PSA) are available in practice to be able to help you complete the online form with you. If you telephone the practice the PSA answering can also fill in an online form for you too. Again, I apologise if this has not happened for you. I would be happy to discuss your concerns further with you if you require. 9. Review titled Poor service

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 20 March 2024

having tried to book appointments at surgery and online and getting nowhere I have come to the conclusion that the new system is designed so that you cannot get to see a doctor. you just get refused help when at the surgery and told to book online. and there are never any appointments available there. so it's a poor service in my view.

  10. Review titled Modality awc avoid responsibility

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Martin Whiteley - Posted on 08 March 2024

I had total knee replacement 28/3/24 Carried out at a private hospital 24 miles away. My nhs hospital 'farmed' the operation to the private sector due to me having waited over 12 months. Operation was a success. I left after being supplied with medication and 1 pair of Compression stockings. One week later I contacted modality awc and requested a 2nd pair of stockings extra large to allow rotation. 1 pair in the wash 1 pair worn. Recieved reply by sms asking "what size" I responded stating size. Waited 2 days heard nothing. Went through the whole procedure again. Recieved a phone call to tell me to make the 44 mile round trip to the private hospital who carried out the procedure and ask them for some more stockings. 5 working days wasted. I am retired can only walk using crutches, have paid into the system all my working life. It is upsetting to see private companies such as Modality awc taking cash from the NHS and just keeping it. They have placed an entire management team between the NHS and patient. Well paid, but inefficient. No doubt an artificial intelligence automated response from Modality awc will be added to the end of this complaint.
