Review titled Heartless
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 28 November 2024
I've been a patient here for years and always had to fight tooth and nail for any appointments. The reception staff are downright rude and heartless. I have 4 week old twins I havn't been able to register yet, the NHS website says that they can be seen under my name at my GP. One of the twins has not had a bowel movement for 3 days and I was advised by 111 to get an appointment for her under my name with my GP only to be told by Hungerford that as she isn't registered they refuse to help. Absolutely disgusting and heartless animals. Do not use this GP, avoid at all costs.

On 24/10/24 my husbands 94 year old mother became unconscious in the car he thought she was having a heart attack or stroke as he was passing her GPS surgery in hungerford rd he pulled in and asked the receptionist for help and was told to call 999, surely a nurse or Dr could have come out to check on her I'm absolutely disgusted thought they were the caring profession, what a joke.

Review titled Rude and unprofessional staff
Rated 3 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 21 September 2024
I ordered my child's regular medication on the website, however when I went to collect it at the pharmacy, I was told the surgery hadn't sent it over. I put the request in on Tuesday and went to collect it on Friday, and never received a text or phone call from the surgery to say there was any sort of problem. I personally went into the surgery as the medication is very important for our child's condition. The receptionist was kind and understanding and said she could see that it was ordered by me, actioned by the surgery and clicked as "done" however it never made it to the pharmacy, she was unsure as to why. Therefore, she referred it to the relevant team as urgent and she asked me to call back in about 30 mins for an update. Therefore, I did. When I rang back for an update, I spoke to a short, curt call handler. She unfortunately, jumped to conclusions and seemed to think she knew exactly what I was asking for in the prescription. She repeatedly tried to tell me what I had ordered and it was in fact at the pharmacy, when it clearly wasn't. I tried to explain that our child has many different types of medications on their file and the one I was specifically tracking down was not one of the ones she was referring to. I tried repeatedly to explain this, but she kept cutting me off, then proceeded to tell me, I was talking over her. I was quite taken back, as that was a rude and unprofessional comment, especially since she was incorrect! I then let her finish explaining her incorrect advice and I explained she in fact made a mistake and I was simply trying to name the correct medicine. She went quiet and said ok. No apology, no admission of error, or accountability. This is extremely unprofessional, uncaring and simply rude. In all my years caring for my children's multiple complex medical needs, I have never been spoken to in this manner. I was very insulted and frustrated when the call ended and felt I had no choice but to bring it to the surgery's attention. The call handler took my call on 20/09/24 at 18:02. This is experience is quite unfortunate, as overall, I have felt our family has always had a positive experience with the surgery.

Review titled Terrible routine GP appointment system
by Mrs H - Posted on 16 July 2024
I agree with all the other reviews about their terrible routine GP appointment system. You ring at 5pm & told appointments not released yet. Ring at 5.15pm told not released yet. Ring 5.30pm still not released. Ring 5.45pm no. 19th waiting in queue & then (eventually) told all appointments have gone. This happened every night I rang to make the appointment. In the end I gave up, even though i still have the same health problem, as it was really stressing me out & putting more strain on my health.

Review titled The worst GP surgery
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Ruwan - Posted on 18 July 2024
As a taxpayer and visa holder who pays the Immigration Health Surcharge (ihs) plus Ni, I expect to have access to nhs services. Unfortunately, my experience with my GP surgery has been very frustrating. I have an issue with my eyes, and despite multiple attempts to seek help, I am struggling to get proper care. I consulted a GP who lacked expertise in eye conditions and was subsequently referred for an eye test. The eye test revealed issues with my blood vessels, and I was instructed to follow up with my GP. However, the GP surgery has been unresponsive and I’ve been unable to secure another appointment. Moreover, my attempts to arrange a blood test for persistent headaches have been met with further complications and unnecessary requests for clarification. It is disheartening to encounter such difficulties when seeking medical care, especially when the NHS is intended to be accessible to everyone. I urge action to be taken to improve the quality and accessibility of care at this GP surgery. It is crucial that NHS services serve the needs of all patients effectively.

Review titled appointments
Rated 1 star out of 5

Phone constantly either no appointments have been released or 5 mins later after waiting in a que 4 times all appointments have gone. The doctor requested me to see her a month from my last appointment but I have no idea how to do this as i keep doing as the reception say, calling after 5. How is this system fare. At least if someone calls after 5 give options for a call back as soon as released so everyone has a chance. Very frustrating it just the look of the draw and not based on anything else. If someone could get back to me and tell me how I get to see my doctor I would be very greatful.

I have been trying to get an appointment for 2 weeks. Phoned multiple times each day when advised by receptionist. Every time I am no. 17 in the queue. Coincidence? When I eventually get through all appointments have gone. Very frustrating.

Review titled Great new Triage system
Rated 4 stars out of 5
by Bob Wilson - Posted on 04 April 2024
Needed to see a doctor today as I have severe knee and back pain. I was all ready for the hassle of ringing up and being on hold ages. However a new system is in place. An online Triage system. It worked really well. I filled in my details, was contacted by txt for more information, which I provided and was given an appointment for the afternoon. So all worked really well. A vast improvement.

Review titled Awful advise from both receptionist and triage
Rated 3 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 18 March 2024
Daughter is 3 months old with conjunctivitis, receptionist referred me to triage self referral page for same day apt. Triage advised that my baby should go to the opticians which I managed to get a same day apt. Opticians reviewed her but due to being under 2 which I mentioned to both receptionist and triage I can only get a prescription from GP. If the staff had just done their job and actually listen to what I was telling them my daughter could have started treatment today instead of waiting another day with a gunky eye that’s just getting worse! And for someone with a 3 month old I am busy every day so not really got time to be palmed off here there and everywhere! Maybe the doctors could take a leaf out of the opticians book as they didn’t have any appointments but still asked for me to come in and get her checked as they didn’t want me to be waiting too long! I think the doctors should learn their own guidelines before sending people off to places where they’re not going to get the help they need.

Review titled Continues to improve post COVID problems.
Rated 4 stars out of 5
by Sue Simpson - Posted on 06 March 2024
Getting through to the Practice to speak to a member of staff has improved remarkably. But it’s still problematic obtaining a GP appointment. The procedure of filling in details of your health conditions is extremely long winded and very time consuming if you live alone and are feeling unwell. The staff are helpful with filling in the requirements requested but, when asking for pictures to be sent of the problem area which is only palpable is questionable and very difficult if you live alone. The Dr I saw on the day in question was remarkable. Kindness, professional, and attentive to detail towards me was unquestionable. The time factor was not an issues and I felt relaxed and not rushed with the approach that was taken. The Practice is very lucky to have this member of staff. More Drs like this are needed in general practice.
