  1. Review titled busy but helpful

Rated 3 stars out of 5

You have to queue and can only contact them during a short window every day but once you get seen they're usually very helpful. Just called to reschedule an appointment I missed and the person I dealt with was very helpful

It’s a good practice and I respect the facilities it offers but can be frustrating when chasing shared care prescriptions. Fortunately today I was able to secure prescription after chasing it up.

  5. Review titled Do better

Rated 2 stars out of 5

Much of the reports here is same for my family. I am pleased some people get help. I want the same help.I feel like they build a ery big wall. I think they prefer simple patients. I think they don't like the disabled. I being told no to appointments to see a GP from my team there. I have surgical examinations at hospital and a letter to say GP to prescribe medicines but they are not so I am in pain. Letter says to make sure I check in for blood reasons but they say no. I go in say I can't use my phone I have no money and they say all patients must have phone to be called. No appointment for me. They say they are on strike maybe this is why aswell but there is nobody to talk to as very busy and they are very stressed .

  6. Review titled Unhelpful and rude

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Rae - Posted on 09 July 2024

I have no idea why a hospital doctor's strike stops the GP having appts but reception told me over 3 days it did. This is why they had no appts. Not there being no diary slots drawn up yet ( the usual excuse) or anything else said over the years. But a strike. I have a serious health condition and need a GP appt after a hospital admission. To get checks and tests the GP was asked to do. I can't get one. To make worse receptionists here yet again were incredibly rude. It shouldn't be happening so much

Dear Rae, We are sorry to hear about the negative experience you had. Junior GP strikes do effect our appointment availability as we are a teaching practice and a large number of our appointments are with junior doctors. I am sorry about your experience with our receptionists. Please do email us on jw.communications@nhs.net so we can understand what has happened better. Kind regards, James Wigg Management

  7. Review titled Long live the NHS

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by liz de Keller - Posted on 11 July 2024

I have recently had contact with my doctor at the practice and also with UCH. I am impressed with the way the two services have shared information and that my GP has phoned, texted and given me an appointment promptly and it seems, at least in my case, the NHS has come up trumps. I am aware of the huge number of patients on the practice list and the fact that staff are overworked but I feel they are doing their best.

  8. Review titled Riddle me this - pregnancy and immunisations

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 21 July 2024

So, whole family here. Multigenerational Including family members undergoing chemo and who have infusions that make them immune compromised. I am pregnant, my sister is pregnant. Both our ( separate) midwifery teams advise us to get immunized against certain infectious diseases as we didn't as kids. This to prevent harm to the baby. Criteria is also if someone you close to is immune compromised. NHS website says so. Reception refuse to make appt. Say must get written evidence that close family are at risk. The GP is the evidence - they are your pts ! I even produced the letter to the GP from oncology This isn't OK Eg of reception or mgrs making up rules or is it GPs blocking?

Rated 4 stars out of 5

Today was phoned with questions about Covid contagion of both myself and my husband. There were no telephone appointments left for today so the practice reception very helpful with how to proceed to get the information we need.

  10. Review titled No follow up after being sectioned

by Shaz - Posted on 17 July 2024

Twice this happened now. Was in hospital many weeks and my medicines was changed as they didn't work . I went home they gave me 2 weeks of new tablets new doses and told the GP to change my perscription. These tablets can't stop suddenly they say or you get much worse very quickly. Both times I couldn't get my prescription. Reception staff said 2 or 3 working days and not urgent and weren't kind. Sent in circles. My GPs and the staff don't know about mental illness I think now. I got sectioned because I had no medicines.
