Due to a friend being diagnosed with prostate cancer he urged me to get checked because I had some similar symptoms. I felt overwhelmed with embarrassment to tell someone about it and knowing that a PSA test would be carried out (up the bum 🙃), but the stress caused by not knowing is so much worse , the Doctor who carried out my appointment was so understanding and professional she put me at ease , it's not a nice experience but necessary, results back in a week , I'm OK but more so is the relief at knowing .

I've always had good experiences at Killamarsh, I must give a "shout out" to both male Doctors, who have always given me the time and consideration with my many issues, both physically and mentally. I had an ocassion when I was ill and the Practice had to call for an Ambulance to get me to Hospital, which turned out that I had suffered with Deep Vein Thrombosis and Pulmonary Embolism. I get my prescriptions sorted very quickly as well. The "Nursing Staff" are good with me as well. The Reception Staff are another good part of the Practice, I've always had a good rapore with the Staff, even "giving titles" to some of the Staff, such as... "my No.1 Team Leader" or "2nd in Command", although some "Titles" have had to be re-assigned when members of Reception Staff have left the Practice. My sense of humour can be a little "warped" at times, including 1 time when, after reading a Notice about Abuse towards Staff, I got a piece of paper, wrote "Abuse" on it and "chucked it" at who was on Reception at the time ! Did I mention that I've got a warped sense of humour? All in all, from my experience of the Practice (over 22 years), I can't praise the Practice too highly.

I have been unable to obtain a drs appointment since 2019. I had to wait 2 weeks for it bu the experience was very worthwhile and helpful. I had a list of issues and was told by the receptionist that I could only have one. However the doctor addressed them all.

The GP and staff were very helpful, with the GP going above and beyond to refer me via fast track after patiently discussing my symptoms. Follow up paperwork was issued within hours and the reception team were very supportive.

I have recently seen our female GP. She took time to listen and was very thorough. Follow ups were made promptly following blood tests by phone calls and also face to face appointment.

I recently attended the surgery for a medical examination. This was undertaken well and a diagnosis was given. However the advice following this was very poor. I asked about whether I should continue with regular exercise and was informed that she couldnt commit to saying whether I should or not continue this and I would need to speak to another practitioner . However there was a 2 -3 month waiting list for this intervention. I asked about pelvic floor exercises and again was told that she couldn`t commit to suggesting any. I find the lack of advice from a doctor to be unacceptable. I was also told that losing weight may help which I was astounded at, given that I have lost 5 stone and am now at a favourable BMI for the first time in years. When I tried to ask further questions about my condition and which pelvic floor exercises I should do I was told my 15 minutes was up and there were others she needed to see. Also that someone had come early for their appointment and had already been waiting a long time. I had waited 30 mins for my appointment. This is unacceptable. On the way out I saw the nurse practitioner who I know and when I mentioned my condition they asked if a referral had been made to the surgery`s pelvic floor physio. This was never mentioned. When you consider that Killamarsh only has the equivalent of 2.5 GPs and this appears to be the quality of advice being given by one of them, I feel the service offered to the community is poor .
