Review titled A+++
Rated 5 stars out of 5

I want to express my deepest gratitude to the team at Kingfisher Medical Centre for the outstanding care my son and I received during our recent appointments. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with kindness, professionalism, and an incredible level of understanding of our needs. The receptionist was exceptionally helpful, answering all my questions with patience and clarity. Both my son’s appointment and my own were conducted punctually, and the doctors provided thorough, compassionate consultations. The environment was clean, welcoming, and well-organized, and it was evident that the staff truly care about their patients. As a parent of a disabled child, it’s especially meaningful to experience such attention to detail and empathy. I rate my experience 11 out of 10 and wholeheartedly recommend Kingfisher Medical Centre to anyone seeking excellent healthcare.

Review titled Highly recommended practice
Rated 5 stars out of 5

I’ve consistently received a helpful and compassionate service from all the staff at this practice, including the receptionists, nurses, and GPs. This continues to stand out as one of the best patient experiences I’ve had in over 20 years of visiting various practices across London. During my recent asthma consultation with the nurse, the appointment was conducted on time and handled with great care. I was given ample time to address all my concerns, and the nurse went above and beyond to assist me, not only with my asthma care but also by advising me on next steps for other pending treatments and tests. They even scheduled a blood test for me on short notice, demonstrating a truly patient-focused and personalised approach to healthcare. I feel fortunate to be under the care of such a dedicated team.

Review titled Super service
Rated 5 stars out of 5

On Monday, I phoned your Surrey Docks surgery for an appointment and was delighted and surprised to be seen by a super paramedic the very next day. What's more, by the time I walked home, the doctor texted me saying a prescription had been sent to my nominated pharmacy. Super service all round! I have been attending this practice for about 30 years. Though busy, the reception staff are always welcoming by phone and in person, and very helpful. The same applies to various GPs I've consulted. They have always explained everything carefully and occasionally given me extra time if necessary. It's the best practice I have ever attended and cannot recommend it highly enough.

Review titled Caring and considerate nurse
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Chloe - Posted on 16 July 2024
I attended the practice for my smear test and could not recommend the practice enough. I was anxious to attend, as at my previous practice I had experienced a difficult nurse who was very rough with the smear test. However, my experience at king fisher was very positive. I was made to feel safe and comfortable. The nurse acknowledged that smear tests are vulnerable and can be uncomfortable, and this helped me feel like my worries were valid. I was told that if I felt uncomfortable at any point then I should say. Overall the nurse made me feel safe, comfortable and was caring and light humoured. I really appreciated it and as a result I would not feel as worried about coming for a smear test in the future. Thank you!

Review titled Smear test
Rated 5 stars out of 5

The nurse is very skilled and managed to successfully operate my smear test without causing any pain. I am very grateful for that, as I have had bad experiences in the past with unskilled staff. I am always nervous when it comes to getting my smear test done.

Review titled Terrible Experience At Kingfisher Medical Center
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Artem - Posted on 15 January 2024
My family had a terrible experience at Kingfisher Medical Centre. We booked an appointment for a vaccination of our 1-year-old daughter at 7.30am, on 15 January 2024. Upon arrival at the clinic at 7.38am, the receptionist greeted us with the phrase: “It is 7.40am, and you won’t be seen”. There was no one in the waiting room! Following some persuasion from our side to at least check with the nurse, the receptionist reported that “she was on the phone” and repeat that “she would not see you today”. We tried to explain the situation and kindly asked to accommodate, including due to the fact that the original vaccination is already delayed more than 2 months given that appointments are extremely hard to book (we had to wait for more than 20 days to book the latest one) and we had to find a slot when our daughter was not sick. As a “compromise”, we had been offered a time slot for the same day, but which was not realistic for us to meet and told that the nurse might speak with us “in the next 30 mins if you wait, but the vaccination will not be done this morning”. We were the first patients in the clinic that day, so it is unclear to us why did we have to wait 30 mins for the nurse. Unwillingness to accommodate when the situation is about the health of 1-year-old baby is something that we will never be able to understand. We don’t believe our delay was critical. When we left the reception, there was still no one in the waiting room! We could have easily been done with vaccination instead of trying to make the vaccination actually happen. We will be looking for another GP. We sincerely hope that Kingfisher will take our feedback into account an improve the way they are treating their tiniest patients.

Hi Artem - I am very sorry your family had this experience at the practice. If patients are late for an appointment (especially a half hour appointment for baby vaccinations), it is at the clinician's discretion if they are able to see the patient, if it has a negative knock-on effect to the rest of their working day. However, we are going to discuss this with the receptionist and the nurse concerned, as the appointment was for a small child. We really appreciate you bringing this matter to our attention, and apologise for the inconvenience and frustration caused. Julie Patient Experience Manager

I had my first appointment at Kingfisher Medical Center today. Clinic is spacious and felt peaceful on a Friday afternoon. But what really made my day was the highly professional and kind staff, both at reception and the GP herself. Very happy and thankful for their help, I came out feeling very well looked after.
