  1. Review titled Great Admin Staff

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 06 September 2023

My wonderful GP was caring enough to make a Neurology Referral to Queens Hospital. Sadly three months later I found that the hospital have not been releasing any appointmentd with no plans to release any for the foreseeable future. The NHS site where you can review waiting list times has false data so it is unreliable. I invested sone time and discovered Homerton University Hospital has an 8 week waiting list so I asked whether I could be referred there. A lovely kind female member on the Administrative Team called me and made sure I understood the system: A - The moment she started the Referral Process I would immediately be removed from the waiting list at Queens. B - Only then would she be able to access their booking system with no guarantee when the next available appointment would be. C - They may reject it as I am out-of-area and I would left back a square one. I asked her to proceed and was eternally grateful as I have been waiting since June, it's now September and I have an appointment in November. Nothing was too much trouble. Everything was unexplained in detail. My clinical welfare was priotitised above all so a great big thank you to all x

  2. Review titled Fantastic Service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Female Patient - Posted on 23 August 2023

Have been with this practice for over five years and they have never failed me - unlike many other NHS services. Over 40 years ago, as a child, I was misdiagnosed by a third party. This was never questioned. I have been subjected to unnecessary tests and over prescribed unnecessary medication. This practice were so thorough they chose to question this and referred me to a fantastic specialist who correctly diagnosed me, prescribed the correct combination of medication and there has been a vast improvement. Since receiving the correct diagnosis this practice has offered a level of care second to none including additional referals to specialist services.

  3. Review titled Worst one ever!!!

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 12 September 2023

Everyday at 8:30 I try to call them and it’s always busy. And if i try later they never have any appointments. Weekdays people have work too. How come they don’t put people on hold or queue like other GPs. At least talk to us, give us some suggestions. In last 2 weeks i never got them on phone. Horrible experience.

  4. Review titled Appointments are like Gold

Rated 2 stars out of 5

It's a nightmare trying to get a face to face appointment at this practice since COVID, they have no online appointment system like most other surgeries have now, you have to ring at 8:30am each morning to try to get an appointment as they do not book advance appointments! Sometimes have had phone on redial for over 200 calls!!! Only to be told they are fully booked when you finally get through!!!! To get a repeat Doctors/Sick note you have to speak to someone each time even though they know you have an existing long term condition!! It's a complete joke!! They have around 4/5 reception staff on but only ever seen to have 1 doctor at a time on duty it's just getting worse at this surgery!!! Some of the staff are helpful but there are 2 that have no basic customer service skills at all!! This was a fantastic surgery when I first joined over 20 years ago but in the last 3 years it's just gone down and down!! They need to review the whole appointment system and also get more Doctors on duty, there is more than 1 Doctor at the practice so why is only one on duty!!! Where are the rest of them??

Dear Patient Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry to hear that you are experiencing difficulties when trying to book an appointment. Unfortunately, due to high demand for appointments, there are times when all available appointments get booked very quickly. We do however, have online e-consultations available via our website between 10am - 2pm everyday. We also have the GP hub Out of Hours services available for all patients to book from 12.00 - 020 3770 1888. Regarding sick certificates it is the practice policy that we have to review all sick certificate requests before issuing these. If you would like to write to the surgery with your contact details we will be happy to respond fully to all of your concerns. Kind regards Linda Franklin - Assistant manager

I called the surgery in a panic as my husband had run out of his medication. I spoke to the Prescription Officer who calmed me and immediately requested a prescription for today which I will be able to collect from pharmacy at around 1530. So very grateful.

  8. Review titled Parking outside Laburnum House

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Stephen Ridd - Posted on 14 February 2023

Had to take my mother to the practise on the 4.2.23 to have some stitches removed from a head wound. She is 92 years of age has severe copd & terminal lung cancer she is able to moved by wheelchair only. When we parked outside the centre in the very first bay -we went in and was seen very quickly and the staff were excellent. However stunned to see a parking ticket in the post for £60. There is no mention on yr website saying the parking outside is permit parking only - and is for residents. For the sake all of yr new visitors - surely thats something that can be put on yr websire without delay. I now understand that parking is available in Morrisons.surely u dont expect my wife to push a wheelchair that far in her mothers current situation. we have appealed the ticket - but how do u expect them to understand -there just money grabbers.... would welcome yr comments. regards steve ridd

Dear Mr Ridd Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry to hear that your received a parking ticket when visiting Laburnum Health Centre. Unfortunately Laburnum Health Centre does not have designated parking. The parking bays in front of the Centre are for the residents of the new housing estate. There are sign post around these bay highlighting the parking restrictions. Following your feedback we have now added a section on to our website highlighting the parking restrictions and we are in the process of putting a poster on the door to highlight this as well. Once again we are sorry that you received this fine and wish you all the best with your appeal. Kind Regards Linda Franklin - Assistant Manager

  9. Review titled Poor practice

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Brad - Posted on 07 January 2024

Went to the doctor about a shoulder injury, took 4 months to be refered to a specialist. I'm still waiting for a appointment from the specialist. Can not get through to the doctors to find out what's happening, just left to wait and suffer. Since then my condition has worsten, effecting my sleep and my daily activities, as well as my work. Can never get through to the gp to book an appointment, the specialist said when I contacted them that I have to wait. This is unreasonable and patient neglect on a high level.

Rated 1 star out of 5

Tried to get an appointment and can never get through. They don't allow to make other appointments for a different day and make you fill out a form just to try and get an appointment. If I'm super Ill why am I filling out a form just to get an appointment? No other surgeries do this!

Dear Patient Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry to hear that you have had difficulty in getting an appointment. We acknowledge that there are times when our phone lines are extremely busy and all available appointments get booked very early. We do regularly look at our appointment system to see if there are ways for us to improve this for our patients. However, due to high demand there are times when this cannot be avoided. We have introduced a system where if patients come in to the surgery to book an appointment and there is no availability we ask the patient to complete a form. This ensures patients confidentiality and enables a clinician to triage the request and book appointments if necessary. If you would like to contact the practice with your details we will respond fully to your concerns Kind Regards Linda Franklin - Assistant Manager
