It is never possible to get an appointment. I have been calling almost every morning for more than a week and the response is you should call at 8 o'clock or arrange an online appointment. Calling at 8 o'clock, you may be waiting for more than 2 hours in the queue because every morning there are 60 peoples ahead of you and you get the same answer. The online system doesn't work at all. Admin staff is help

I took my mother to the practice and went through the registration process . I was informed that the process will take two weeks to complete. When I next called they said they had no record of my application, what a waist of time!

Waited 50 minutes to even reach a member of staff then palmed off with "a nurse will call you later this afternoon." So, apparently health checks can be done down a phone, my chest can be listened to, my throat can be viewed etc etc When asked what if I miss the call, can I get a direct number to reach the nurse I was told I would have to call the same number again. So I guess another 50 minutes waiting? This problem has been going on for years at Lakeside! The staffing levels must be shocking as you can't get through to speak to anyone for ages and as for actually being able to see a Dr, you're more likely to win the lottery. Please don't say it's a nationwide problem as my wife is at another surgery and she gets in within 48hrs. They wonder why so many people go to the 8-8 service or waltz into hospital.

Review titled Appalling appointment service
Rated 1 star out of 5

Having completed an e consult on a Monday, received a message stating a GP would be in contact on the Tuesday. This did not happen. Called Wednesday morning (1 hour and 2 mins on hold) to find out why I didn't receive a call and when would the GP call. To be told I would be called today. This still has not happened and I am still waiting for a call! What makes Lakeside healthcare think that those of us of work age are in a position to keep our phones on all day whilst at work awaiting a phonecall that in my reality has not even happened! I work for the NHS myself and am unable to keep my phone on whilst on shift. Can Lakeside please at the very least give an hours time slot for when to expect a call? Also waiting for over an hour to speak to a "call navigator" is utterly ridiculous. And yes I am still waiting for a phone call that was scheduled 2 days ago, then yesterday and now today.

Dear patient, I am sorry to hear of your experience at our surgery which has not your, or my expectations. Usually eConsults are triaged and dealt with appropriately. Like you point out we recognize that our patients are busy people and don't have the time to wait on the phone this is why we took the decision to move from our previous provider to eConsult as this better supported our patients needs. We had during the summer moved to a service where we gave patients a window of time that we would call, and that we would call a couple of times including at a later time in the day to try and reach our patients. I am not able to determine specifically what happened on this occasion as I would need you name and identifiable details to investigate this. I ma happy to do this is you could get in touch via our 'contact us' page on our website, by phone, mail or in person. With best wishes Emma Downs Hub Manager

Review titled Poor prescription service
Rated 2 stars out of 5
by Edward Pearce - Posted on 26 August 2022
Visited surgery 09:15. Prescribed medication. Advised pick up from Asda pharmacy ready 10-15mins. Not there 15mins later. Waited 1 hour, apologies from Asda who offered to call me when ready. Two hours later rang surgery. Prescription not signed. One hour later rang surgery again explaining I was going away for bank holiday weekend, still not signed. Might take10mins "might take 2 hours" Day wasted.

Dear Mr Pearce I am sorry to hear this. I will look into this case specifically and try and work out what has gone wrong. We can sign prescriptions electronically so there should not have been a need for undue delay. We will be in contact once this has been completed. With best regards Emma Downs Hub Manager

Sadly we had booked an appointment for it only to be cancelled. There is no benefit from booking an appointment as it is first come first served as I could see. We had arrived at 6.00pm for a 6.35pm appointment. We were told it must of been cancelled at about 6.30pm because they had run out of 12-17 vaccines. They could not find our name on their system. They had cancelled appointments from 6.35pm to 7.00pm I was told. We were then told we could wait until 7pm to see if they would have any vaccines left. Child in front with an appointment for 7pm got her vaccine and 2 walk ins behind us did. Felt a very unfair system and is certainly not what we had expected and not the case at other centres. Surely they should ensure that all vaccines were available for people who book?
