  1. Review titled New Patient Experience

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by New patient 072024 - Posted on 08 July 2024

Wow! What a really positive first contact with the practice. Not only was I able to request my repeat prescription , arrange a new patient appointment but also was able to find out about online access etc. The member of staff was very clear, explained processes involved and was extremely considerate to my individual needs and very welcoming in her general manner . Thank you .

  2. Review titled Rude Reception Staff/Poor GP Policy

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 10 July 2024

Called to obtain my test results. Advised by receptionist to call 8am to obtain my results. Why is a GP not reviewing results first and then asking patients to arrange appointments if there is a cause for concerns /discussions to be made. This is a waste of appointment when results are clear and reception staff can actually give that information as long as it is reviewed by a GP and clearly noted in file. There are people who are in dire meed if appointments and i can only imagine appointments are being taken up for reasons like this. This is time consuming for the patient and GP. The Receptionist was rude when i questioned this and had the audacity to say to me that ‘i should be more worried about my results than the process’. Reception staff are so defensive it is unreal.

I visited the doctors surgery with a letter from urgent care to my Gp requesting an emergency appointment . The receptionist refused to grant this request and give me an emergency appointment and sent me away telling me to call in the morning .

  4. Review titled Can't book an appointment

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 14 June 2024

It's extremely upsetting trying to book an appointment for my elderly mother/child for over a week and being unsuccessful. I even registered for online access to see if that would help and the same problem occurred with a poor system that barely functions and again not being able to book an appointment. Shockingly poor service, mentally draining and completely upsetting for patients that need help.

Dear patient, I recognise that difficulties in accessing the Practice can be extremely frustrating for our patients and I apologise unreservedly for any upset or inconvenience. Unfortunately we only have a limited number of appointments to offer patients on a daily basis and are unable to exceed this capacity. In this circumstance you may be directed to an alternate service such as a walk in centre or NHS 111. Please be assured that our clinicians are working to their full capacity and the Practice sees as many patients as it is safe to do so. Please do not hesitate to call the Practice on 0121 817 3560 to ask for further support. Again I am very sorry for any distress caused by the difficulty you have faced in trying to obtain an appointment at the Practice. Kind regards, Patient Experience Team

  5. Review titled Another one bites the dust

Rated 2 stars out of 5

I'm elderly, diabetic and recently had blood tests. Received text this morning to click on link to make an appointment for a call back from doctor to discuss results. No link. Ring surgery, no appointments. Ring back at 8am tomorrow. I will do and after 2 weeks will give up again. If results are important I could be dead before I get through. The appointment system is ridiculous.

  7. Review titled impossible to get an appointment

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Shaz Hussain - Posted on 21 December 2023

For a long time now it has been nearly impossible to get an appointment at this practice. It used to be the best practice several years ago. I have bee struggling to get a gp to see my sick child. I called back and asked the receptionist if they were registering new patients. Shockingly, the receptionist said yes. They are unable to service the patients they have got, however are willing to register more patients for there practice. It is like their is no thought process/planning by the people allegedly running the place. A complete farce of providing public service. I am paying taxes for an unacceptable level of service. United Kingdom is not value for money anymore.

  8. Review titled Impossible to get an appointment

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 24 November 2023

Having attended the surgery at 8.10 a.m to try and get an appointment I was told I had to phone in even though I was standing right in front of the receptionist. I had tried that already hence the reason for my going there. I then called in front of the receptionist to explain the line was constantly busy but was told that other than through the online portal that was the only way I could get an appointment. I left the surgery and continued to call. I got a message to say someone will call back, they did at 9.15 and as expected there were no appointments left. In the past it has taken weeks to get an appointment. Having visited the walk in centre twice prior to this attempt they can only do so much and advised that I book in with my GP. This surgery is a shambles and not fit for purpose. They should have a poor CQC rating.

  9. Review titled Accessing appointments has become extremely poor

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Shel - Posted on 19 June 2023

It appears you can’t even book an appointment on the phone anymore! Started calling at 8am this morning. Must have called around over 25 times within a period of 10 minutes. Because each time I called I couldn’t get through and kept hearing ‘ phone line is at full capacity’ and to call back later ! After 10 minutes all the appointments had gone! How are you supposed to even book an appointment at this practice?! Ways of accessing and booking a appointments have been removed and reduced to a point you could be without seeing a doctor for ages. Appalling.

  10. Review titled Nightmare getting appointments

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Alecia - Posted on 28 June 2023

This surgery appointment booking and follow-up is atrocious. It can take weeks to get through on the phone to book an appointment, and if you do get through on the line it tells you your place in the queue, and half way through the call the line cuts out. When I do manage to get an appointment, the doctors are great and referred me for the relevant investigations and tests. Also, getting a medical letter takes 3 to 6 weeks imagine the stress for university students. The service is just Poor and some of the receptionists can be quite abrupt sometimes, not possessing good interpersonal skills at all
