  1. Review titled Caring doctor

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 07 July 2023

Had a telephone consultation with my registered GP concerning some test results. I was a bit concerned but my doctor explained what the results meant in a language that I could understand. He answered all my questions and by the end of the telephone call I was reassured that I had to worry about.

  4. Review titled Efficient Receptionist and Practice Care Assistant

Rated 4 stars out of 5

The receptionist understood the need for me to receive a consultation. The Practise Care Assistant acted promptly and professionally. Listening as well as asking several questions. I left reassured, knowing that I needed further tests to solve my health problem. All arranged by the Practise Care Assistant.

Waited 45 minutes for call vavk, then told appointment had been scheduled. Nurse had been sending text to a number we had informed them no longer exists. Then waited 45 minutes to see nurse and then had to go bavkbto surgery as they had not sent prescription, which they had said they sent to pharmacy. 2 hours to see nurse and get medicine, appalling service. If they have too nanynpatienta, should employ more staff.

  6. Review titled No appointments again...

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 13 June 2023

After having a blood test at the hospital 2 weeks ago, I receive a text to tell me to book a phone appointment to talk about the results. Well a week on from this text and I am actually able to get through on the phone, finally. After only being 9th in the queue today... I still wait 20+ mins to be answered. At this time I was told there are no appointments for my Dr or the registrar and this is the case till 7th July... Which is 3.5 weeks away. I can call maybe later this week, maybe next week sometime and they might have more appointments released for my GP from the 10th July. It is however pot luck as to when I phone or whether, when I do get through, whether there will be anything left at that time... The lack of business planning and shear laid back attitude to when appointments might be available means I have no doubt I may never get an appointment to discuss these results... Let alone get treatment for whatever the actual issue is... I'm off to call the health care GP service my work offers and see if they can tell me my results... At least this might be quicker, even if I have to another blood test! My fingers are crossed!

  7. Review titled Poor appointment service

Rated 1 star out of 5

Unfortunately, been trying to book an appointment for over three weeks and can't seem to get one. Call at 8am, line full, get cut off as lines are full - same again at 11:30. Ring later in the day asking for a non-urgent appointment but told calendar for three weeks is already fully booked. No weekend appointments either. Advised - keep trying. Annoyingly, i've always found the GP's helpful when you actually do manage to get an appointment! and I wish they'd change the phone recording as you can't book appointments online anymore unlike the voice recording states!

  8. Review titled Extremely poor

Rated 1 star out of 5

I have been trying to get a appointment for my 10 year old son for well over a month now, it does not matter what time of day you call or even waiting at the surgery to get an appointment you are always told the same thing “ we do not have any appointments available try again next week” we can not self refer to the service we need for him because he has to be seen by a GP first so we are stuck on what to do , my son’s symptoms are getting worse and causing him distress. But this surgery is taking on more patients when they obviously can not handle the amount of patients they already have. Last month my son was having an asthma attack in the doctors waiting room and they refused to see him , thank goodness for the pharmacist next door that came to his rescue, he was later diagnosed with a chest infection! The practice managers need to start managing this practice before a life is lost

  9. Review titled Poor appointment practice

Rated 1 star out of 5

After receiving a text to say i needed to book an appointment after blood test results had been received by a GP, I immediately called and once through booked an appt for the following Tuesday. Quite happy with that I then received a call to say I could no longer have that appointment and to call back another day. When asking when to call, told perhaps middle of next week. I said I was on the phone now and it was the surgery who had asked me to call and was told it was out of their hands. The lady I spoke to was all very nice and not her fault but now Im left wondering why the need to talk to me knowing that it could be weeks before I get to speak to a Doctor. I only had the blood test 2 days ago. Really not good service. For such a large practice getting an appointment if your lucky enough to get on a phone line, is a right mission.

  10. Review titled Disappointment after disappointment after disappointment

Rated 1 star out of 5

I consider myself to be in fairly good health and so rarely need to visit the GP. And thank goodness. Because with a service such as the one you receive at Lister Medical Centre, you would be glad. My 2.5 year old however hasn't been so lucky. Last year he was blighted with tonsilitis 7 times. Each time he contracted it, we were in a situation where we would call for an appointment only for all the slots to be taken and would then have to call 111 to see my own GP. Every time, without fail. We are now in the process of having my son referred for ASD - and I can't even make a routine appointment. All the appointments for the next 3 weeks are taken. You are failing the people in your care as the people in your care can't even make an appointment. This isn't a health service. It's a failure and a joke.
