At 08:10 on a Friday morning I received notification a blood form had been issued and I was to call the receptionist to make an appointment. I called at 11:30 and attended the Surgery and gave a blood sample at 11:50. Excellent Service

  2. Review titled Disappointing Service

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by john Feltham - Posted on 25 September 2024

Because of a long term issue leaving me with mobility issues i was advised by my hospital consultant to ensure my immunity jabs were up to date including shingles. I spoke with reception and they agreed i qualified for shingles jab although i will not be 70 for another 3 months an appointment was made and then changed by the surgery but a final appointment for 24 sept was agreed i received a text several days before hand reminding me to attend. When i arrived for the appointment i was told that the nurse had cancelled it as i was not yet 70. I have severe mobility issues and just getting to the surgery is hard. I Was very distressed by this situation . After over 30 years as a patient i have received exemplary health care and have always been very happy with the doctors i have seen . I would like to add that the two ladies in reception were polite and courteous and seemed embarrassed about the situation.

Dear Mr Feltham , many thanks for your feedback . I apologise for the confusion over booking your shingles vaccine. I understand the nurse did cancel your appointment the week before your appointment date may be the text did not arrive in which case I apologise for this. To ensure this misunderstanding does not arise again the reception team will be offered additional training on when the shingles vaccine can be offered. Once again I apologise for the stress this has caused you kind regards June Thomson - Practice manager

  4. Review titled Useless booking system for anyone who has to work

Rated 1 star out of 5

    by paul H - Posted on 13 August 2024

their ridiculous booking system of calling at 10 (except mondays) for trying to make an appointment. unless your not working, trying to get through and get an appointment ,even when the phone line isnt busy ,only to be told t0 try again later or next day. you can go on for days without success. instead of being able to attend and wait or call up and the fit you in on a day and time over the next few days or weeks.

Dear Paul , thank you for your feedback , I am sorry you have had a difficult experience booking an appointment. At present we are extremely busy and there is an requirement to manage our appointment system and flow of telephone calls into the practice. We offer daily triage and then offer f2f or routine appointments. During core hours 0800 to1830 you can place an e -consult , a GP will view this and task the appropriate treatment or appointment. The link to e-consult is via our is website www.lockswoodsurgery.co.uk I will pass your comments to the Partners Kind regards June Thomson

  5. Review titled Can't get through

by Jay - Posted on 05 June 2024

Can't get through during the only time they will allow you to book an appointment, 10am. Not even a queue on the phone, just hung up on and told to try again later by a bot.... Then when you try again later they say call back the next day at 10 because thats the only time they can give appointments, then when you call at 10 the next day and the same thing happens... a pointless awful cycle where you just don't get seen.

  6. Review titled Compliments for Excellent Service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Barrie Clyne - Posted on 18 April 2024

consulting for blood sepsis, I saw a senior nurse practitioner: the matter quickly overcome what seemed to me almost too late. it led to several weeks care from nurses, the point is a cure was possible and managed entirely in house; without the need to visit a hospital. my natural instinct is avoid medics: well perhaps not when you're in your 87th year! with grateful thanks to the team, they know what they'e doing!

  7. Review titled Not great

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 07 November 2023

I go to this surgery for my depo contraceptive injection, I get it every 3 months and it has to be on a specific date. Usually no issue getting an appointment but my last 3 have been awful. I called up the first time to get it and the receptionist told me the date and I ran with it as I thought I must have gotten it wrong. I had not got it wrong and when I arrived the nurse told me I was 2 weeks late for it which is way above the time you should have it! This was resolved well and I think the practice manager got involved as a result which was good. But still was not a great experience for me being 20 years old and not wanting pregnancy scares on a Friday morning! The second time they managed to squeeze me in at 4:40 on a Tuesday, luckily with my job I managed to take some time back to leave early but I work in Southampton so getting from there to Locks Heath can be challenging if you don’t have much time. Got there about 7/8 minutes late and the receptionist checked me in as the screen wasn’t working, I took a seat and then she proceeded to shout in front of a full practice that I was late. Went in to get my injection and the usual nurse did it and was very expressive about the fact I was late and muttered that she was going to be late home now because of me. I felt very disrespected after this but I have to get this injection so I was back 3 months later, today 7th November. I called 3 weeks in advance like I was told to book my appointment but they had nothing that fit within my diary (which is quite open) so I called back the week later as I was told and got an appointment for 1 week later than it was due which is medically fine. I arrived and the first thing the nurse said to me was that I was 7 days late and tried to turn it on me by saying I need to call 3 weeks in advance but I did. This practice prioritises elderly and babies so when people like myself who need a 10 minute appointment for a jab can’t get one and then get moaned at that we’re late for the jab. I used to be okay going to get this jab but now I dread it because of how I’ve been treated previously.

Appointment with physiotherapist arranged at Practice the day after I reported a foot problem. Condition diagnosed and way forward mapped out. Wow! Receptionist who arranged referral most efficient, asking excellent questions. Subsequently, her colleagues were most friendly, understanding and helpful.
