Review titled Very disappointing
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Aimee smith - Posted on 07 June 2023
My son had an appointment for 11.10 this morning, he actually got seen at 12.10. If as a patient we were late the doctor wouldn’t see us. Why is it ok for them to be an hour late?

Dear Ms Smith, We are sorry to hear your feedback. Clinicians try hard to keep to time but it is often beyond their control. They run late for a variety of reasons as some patients require a longer consultation than their allocated time because of their complex health condition, or needing more tests, some require hospital admissions or liaising with other health care professionals. The Appointment time given to you is the time you should make yourself available to see the GP, it is not necessarily the time the GP will see you as this is dependent on the length of the previous consultations. We politely request all our patients to be understanding towards fellow patients as one day it may be you who needs the care and attention that a patient ahead of you has just received and we will give you that time if and when you need it.

Review titled First class practice
Rated 5 stars out of 5

From booking appointments to spending quality time with doctor talking about different issues . They have time for the patient. Blood tests and physio therapy appointments are all in house and nurses are knowledgeable when it comes to after care

Review titled Still keeping me ‘ticking over’ after 40+ years.
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Michael Stubbs - Posted on 25 May 2023
My recent experience at Lowfield Street was similar to those I’ve had for so, so many years. Very rarely have I gone away from this practice not feeling grateful for the time they’ve spent with me & the help/advice they have given. I’ve never been one to visit a doctor unless it was really necessary, so their help & advice was all that more important when I did. At this practice I’ve always found it relatively easy to get an appointment (even easier for a rarely needed emergency visit), unlike, I gather, other practices ….. & I’m grateful for that. Three years or so back my doctor there, of many years, retired & (getting to a ‘certain age’) I did wonder how I would react. After all, trust is an important part of a doctor/patient relationship. I needn’t have worried. Into the breach stepped another doctor …… who made the changeover seamless. She has been just as helpful & understanding at a time when this practice, like so many others, has come under the strain of too many patients & too few doctors. Long may she, & of course the rest of the staff, keep me in as good a health as possible. Many thanks.

Review titled Poor access for people who are Deaf
Rated 3 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 19 April 2023
I know a Deaf patient who uses BSL and although they have a smart phone they are not able to contact the practice to book a GP appointment because they are non-verbal. Health services are required by law to make 'reasonable adjustments' for people with disabilities so they can access healthcare but this has not been done.

Review titled Excellent surgery!
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Lucie W - Posted on 23 January 2024
The surgery itself has come on leaps and bounds in the 4 years we have been there, recently undergoing a complete revamp of the premises and making it much brighter and open, and in this time it didn't stop the surgery offering all of their services. The entire team are fantastic, warm, welcoming, friendly, approachable, and always willing to go above and beyond for patients, from the welcoming reception team, to the phlebotomy team, nurses and GPs. As with wvery surgery, there isn't always appointments available, but you are always given the best time to call back, and the econsult service is brilliant for less urgent needs, which we have used many times and always had responses to. I'd recommend this surgery to anyone!

Dear Lucie, Thank you very much for such a positive feedback. We will share this with all our team members. The refurbishment of the surgery has been very challenging but we have tried our best to cause as little disruption to our services as we can. We are extremely happy that you have taken time to acknowledge that. We are also working hard to improve access to the surgery and offering online consultation is one such avenue. Many thanks once again for your kind and appreciative words.
