Surprised to get a phone call from GP regarding blood test, but pleasantly surprised as it meant someone actually now reads results . GP explained result and treatment. So thank you.

Review titled Diabolical.

I was in desperate need of an emergency appointment today and was told there were none available. Rung up as soon as GP opened and was told no emergency GP appointments for several days. Asked about my options and was told to call 111 or go to A&E! Was also then told if I need a prescription to go to the pharmacy where they can now prescribe medication and when I queried this they said yes?! I called the pharmacy and they said they cannot prescribe prescriptions. The receptionists at this practice have a clear lack or knowledge and are telling patients wrong information and this is just awful! Do not register with this practice if you need to see a GP as you will not get an appointment. It’s like not having a GP. Outcome? I had to pay for a private appointment so register at your own risk. Also, if you have prescriptions with this practice Boots can no longer chase these so for you- you need to do yourself so you have been warned. It’s also run by locums now, so forget consistency in care. It’s the worst practice in rainham.

Review titled Vast Improvement
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Morry - Posted on 18 May 2023
I attended one of the surgeries on Tuesday to get an urgent appointment as I am hearing impaired and cannot use telephone. I was helped cheerfully by the receptionist who managed to fit me in later that day for an appointment with the doctor of my choice.. The physician gave me a thorough examination and a referral. I was even given a blood test the following day by a competent nurse without a mark. All in all I was pleasantly surprised by the service and improvement at this surgery.

Review titled Ops good review no names this time!

The care of the GP was absolutely outstanding, he was honestly amazing with my baby boy, he literally made my day with how much care he had for both of us!! He explained everything to me and addressed me by my name which was nice for us as he was talking to me, he really did make us feel comfortable and assured me of my sons health putting me so much at ease, also The receptionist too was lovely and very helpful and kind and even though my sons name is a bit different and people do find it hard to either spell or pronounce we got there in the end and she was really lovely so thank you so much and even writing this makes me cry with happiness as I’ve never experienced so much kindness to us in a surgery before!! Also I’ll throw in the nurse who done my boys have too, she is so lovely when she did them, she was easy to talk to, understanding and very helpful! Definitely be proud of your staff as they was amazing!

Review titled Great service when you can get an appointment
Rated 3 stars out of 5
by Cath B - Posted on 22 May 2023
I have been well cared for continually through an ongoing health issue and now post operation. The way I am spoken to is caring and consistent when I can speak with the same ANP at St Mary's Island Surgery. It is however exceptionally hard to get an appointment unless knowing when you will need to talk to them. Same day appointments are nearly impossible. 2.5wk wait for E consult appointments. Consistency of care with the same ANP or GP ( especially for complex issues) should be prioritised. It helps wellbeing and recovery, meaning less appointments needed in the longer term. I hope the capacity of appointments and service can improve.

Just changed to this practice in April and gobsmacked at the efficiency that I never received from my previous GP. I actually feel like a human being again.

Review titled Inconsistent and unhelpful staff
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Ronke A - Posted on 26 May 2023
To the receptionist I spoke to this morning around 9:50am, I am afraid you have no empathy towards someone struggling with infertility and mental health.since joining this surgery, all I get is no no!They won’t refer me to a gynaecologist,I have had to pay thousands to see a private one.All I require from them is support for just 1 scan so I can access some procedures privately but this surgery made it so difficult to get the scan done.I did a blood test and was advised to ring to book a routine call.Twice I did call with no one able to book me on,after a week, I sent an email on the 25th may only to be told that they will book me for an appointment on the 25th of June!A whole month! How will they feel if this is them?I called the surgery on the 26th to beg for an earlier appointment as all this appointment and referral has been dragging since January 2023.She showed no empathy and only wanted to get me off the phone, she gave me a wrong date by saying I m booked for the 15th of June for a routine call.Who do I now believe, the email that says 25th June or she that says 15th of June. I told her this issue is impacting on my mental health as I have been crying myself to sleep most nights, the receptionist appeared not to be bothered and only wanted to get off the phone. I will be making a complaint to pals and leaving the surgery. Please stay clear of this surgery
