  1. Review titled Awful practice

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Ellie - Posted on 23 September 2024

Have to call around 110 times before even being placed in a queue, no exaggeration! Send in formal complaints and get no response from them- been waiting 6 months! Have to wait around 4 weeks for pre bookable appts and even if ring on the day can guarantee all appts will be gone in first 10 minutes, clearly can’t have many staff working here! All round awful experiences. However will say when you do eventually get seen to by clinical staff they are very helpful and apologetic for poor access, good staff also do seem to leave!

I am sorry to hear about your experiences with our practice, and I sincerely apologise. I understand how difficult and challenging it is, accessing the practice at 08.00am on the day appointment and phone line. We value your feedback and would appreciate the opportunity to address these concerns directly. Could you kindly contact the surgery at your convenience We are committed to learning and improving our services. Thank you for your patience, and once again, my sincerest apologies.

  2. Review titled Gone down hill

I have used this surgery for years. Until the last 12 months I recommended them to friends and family, but over recent months I sadly can't say the same. I have had no follow up appoint since giving birth, can't get an app. Phone up for appointment for poorly 6 week old baby to be told no apps for months, but to ring at 8am. Ring up at 8am and no appointments for the day. When I then demand an appointment for my baby who is in discomfort, miraculously they give me an appointment for the following day, but to be told "that's the best I can do", that's all I wanted was an appointment. This is just 1 recent example of why I no longer have confidence in this surgery. I appriciate that since covid things haven't been the same, but something needs sorting. There is no longer any compassion or friendliness from the staff either as there was prior to covid

  3. Review titled Great treatment today

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I was very pleased to see the Practice Nurse this morning for a blood pressure review etc. She was able to arrange for me to have routine blood tests within an hour. So many thanks to the Nurse, the staff of Marshalls Cross Medical (who are short staffed) and to the Phlebotomy Department. You are doing a grand job.

  4. Review titled Welcome good service

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Helen Grounds - Posted on 04 July 2024

There are currently lots of complaints about Drs surgeries unfortunately and I too have had occasions to complain. However when the service is good I’ll praise too. Yesterday morning I emailed my repeat prescription across to Marshalls Cross Medical Centre and received the generic reply that this could take up to 3 days, which I am aware of. Yesterday afternoon I opened the door to the delivery driver from Four Acre Chemist who handed me my full prescription. Great work guys. You deserve this review. I was very pleased with yesterday’s service from all concerned. Don’t forget we are always quick to complain so remember to be quick to praise.

  5. Review titled Possible life-saving service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by JKN - Posted on 28 July 2024

Attended an appointment with a doctor on 16/07/24. Within moments he had realised how serious the situation was and immediately contacted Whiston Hospital for urgent attention in Accident and Emergency. I’m not sure his action was “life- saving”, but it most certainly a voided a possible life changing situation. My congratulations and thanks to him for his prompt action!8

  6. Review titled Helpful practice

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Whilst people seem eager to make bad reviews but refrain from making good ones, I'd like to applaud this surgery. Yes, I know it's difficult to get an appointment but this problem is nation-wide & not just at this one. All my experiences have been good. Yesterday evening I called into surgery after a disappointing visit to the walk-in centre. A lovely young man encouraged me to go to Whiston a&e. I did & he was right, I didnt have to wait long. I have a lifetime condition so need to order my medication each month. Again, I've had no problems & get them either the same day or the day after. The staff are always really nice.... & helpful too !! Personally, I think this is a great practice.

  7. Review titled Missing prescription - again

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 18 May 2024

Our repeat prescriptions are usually requested with a 10 days' "grace period" to ensure our medication is not disrupted. Often at least one item is missing, thus necessitating at least one phone call and email to sort it out. This month however, a whole prescription is missing again! This means that by the time it is resolved, medication will have run out. These prescriptions have been regular for some years now and we are just so tired of it requiring emails, phone calls and much annoyance and time to sort out

  8. Review titled A complete nightmare

Rated 1 star out of 5

I had a “safety alert” text regarding a medication I was on and taking it whilst pregnant. If I wanted to discuss it further I had to reply to the text. I did this, and the reply was undeliverable. So I emailed and sent it through to the practice. I asked why I would need an appointment, was it because I had taken it during my pregnancy with my youngest son. The reply?…… The reason you would have to make an appointment to be prescribed pregabalin is because you haven't had it on your prescription for over two years. If this is something you need on your prescription, I advise you contact the surgery via the booking lines to make an appointment with a GP. I have been on this medication for over 8 years. Surely it’s the click of a button to check what I’m taking. They had the misinformation of me not having for 2 years…. From god knows where. I replied to that message and have had no reply. So I have called today and I will update if/when I get a call back but I won’t hold my breath. I also requested an appointment for my husband. The prebookable appointments are now at the end of June. That’s 9, nine weeks. Absolutely ridiculous. We were told to call at 8am but they are never available until Wednesday if you’re lucky as the appointments are all gone by 8.10am I’ve also requested an afternoon appointment previously when I needed to have a review. I kept getting sent afternoon appointments which I cannot attend due to my health condition I take a lot of medication in the afternoon. Whilst I understand the NHS is struggling and I’m grateful that we have such a service I think the wait times are horrendous and not helpful in the slightest. Big changes are needed.

  9. Review titled Awful service

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 25 April 2024

I have been trying to get an appointment for a week now without any success. In all seriousness this practice needs investigating. Their service levels are extremely poor. I can't comment on the calibre and service from the Gps at present as its impossible to get an appointment. They are either over subscribed on patients, under staffed on GPs or very poorly managed. Hard to get any answers really, it's actually better just calling 101. The script from marshalls cross is that there's no appointments left that day, call back tomorrow or go to a walk in centre. Really not sure this practice deserves any funding.

  10. Review titled Poor client liaison and communication

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Brian Kellman - Posted on 23 February 2024

Your Pharmacist contacted myself with regard to why I hadn’t placed an order for my repeat medication for 4.5 months. I don’t understand how since September 2023 I have had a pacemaker implant, an attempt to remove a malignant bladder tumour, one week in Whiston Hospital with severe kidney infection. In December 2023 I had my bladder, prostate gland and various lymph nodes removed at the Royal Hospital in Liverpool. On each occasion I was given my meds plus extras so there was no requirement to re-order. What is so annoying and worrying is that the pharmacist couldn’t find any evidence of this period and I have proof that Marshall’s Cross Medical Centre was copied on every single document that was generated during this extremely stressful and painful time. If possible could you please explain why this has happened and why after 48 hours I still have not had any contact from your practice management although you have explained the situation with the telephones.
