The doctor was efficient and to the point, interested and engaged in the appointment I felt well looked after and I am confident in her skill as a GP.

Dc E is so understanding and patient. She listens and reassures if I’m anxious. She never makes me feel rushed and explains things in great detail

  3. Review titled Worst practice

Rated 1 star out of 5

They are always changes the ways patients can make appointments. The last few times I have called for myself or for my children, I get a link sent to me for an appointment. They ask if you would like a phone call and when you select yes.... They give you an appointment for a months time. My daughter came out with a rash over her body and they gave an appointment to see her in 3 weeks time (so pathetic). I called about my cracked heels, as not able to walk due to the pain and have been given an appointment for 5 weeks time. I can't stand because it's so painful but I have to suffer another 5 weeks before my doctor can see me. This surgery is useless and their reception staff are not very nice either.

  5. Review titled Phone lines seem to have improved

Rated 4 stars out of 5

In the last 2 weeks I’ve phoned several times and just wanted to say “ wow “ “ you’ve obviously got more staff to help with the phones now or maybe got a new phone system too !” For a very long time it’s taken ages for calls to be answered - the last 2 wks probably a couple of minutes - compared to 45+ mins previously “Well done !

I have been charged for multiple redials even if I only receive the engaged tone. Why can't I just visit the surgery or get through first time.I cannot keep paying huge phone bills just to get medical attention. You need to sort your phone system out. Please stop saying you are short staffed employ some more people.

I am sorry that you had difficulty in getting through to the surgery. We are doing our best to improve on the telephone system and have made continuous changes and adjustments over a long period of time, including further changes over the last few weeks, which are finally beginning to show improved results, and we are still striving to improve further. We are carrying out continuous audits which have helped to drive measurable improvements. We have introduced menu options in the last 3 weeks. These options take some of the calls away from the appointments line. Patients that have prescription queries or referral queries are now able to choose the appropriate option and will be taken out of the appointment line queue. We were already monitoring the incoming calls and reviewing the queue wait time so that we can try and put additional call handlers on the phones when needed. There is also the call back option to prevent patients from sitting on the phone waiting for an answer. This keeps your place in the queue and you still get to speak to the team in the same time frame. In addition we have recruited an extra staff member to help to cover the staff shortages caused by long term sickness as well as staff turnover and holidays. We are seeing real and measurable improvements and are confident that all these changes will provide better access. We can see that the waiting time for call response has dropped and that the average queue length has been reduced.

  8. Review titled cut off after waiting over half an hour

Rated 2 stars out of 5

constantly engaged; cut off twice one week after being in the queue, then again once last week. sickness has not gone away, but try as i do, all i now get is engaged or call back - at least I've not been cut off yet this week, yet! whilst completing the online consult, they ask twice for your preferred method to hear from them, but then contact you via another way, so their call back isn't heard. i can't see how this does anything for staff morale, but if complaining is all we can do to get heard, then so be it.

Dear Patient Thank you for your feedback, I am really sorry that you have experienced issues with the telephone system. The telephone system is something we are keen to improve and have recently upgraded twice to ensure patients are receiving the best service. If patients experience problems I would like to try and resolve these as best I can. I would need to be made aware of issues so they can be escalated to the telephone company for them to check the system and identify what may have occurred and get a solution in place. I will need the details of the date and time of the call and the number you called from. I am sorry you have found the e-consult form repetitive this is sadly a system generated form that we are not able to amend and although does ask preference this is not always possible when the clinician is reviewing the e-consult you have submitted. Dear Patient Thank you for your feedback. I am really sorry you have found it difficult to get through on the telephones. We are aware there have been significant problems and are really sorry about this. We have a new phone system and it has great features including a call back option so that you are not waiting in the queue. To free up the phone lines we are also encouraging patients where possible to apply for access to their medical records, this allows you to view your results as well as many other features. You would need to apply for this via Patient Access https://www.patientaccess.com/. Once you have registered you would need to come to the surgery with ID and complete a form for us to activate your account and give you the details to link your medical record. This then allows you to review your medical record including your results via the app or on a PC. Adrienne Adams Practice Manager
