  1. Review titled Great Experience

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 31 December 2024

I used my surgery’s online portal to record my symptoms and what exactly I would like my GP to do to help. Within minutes, I had a face-to-face appointment booked for the same day. In the appointment, the doctor did not question what I had written, nor did I have to justify anything I had recorded. Instead, he completely believed me and completed the paperwork for me to book the blood test I required. The doctor sent me a link to Swiftqueue via text, where I was able to book a blood test for that same day. I was seen almost instantly, the blood test taking a matter of minutes. All of the staff were kind and welcoming, making me feel at ease. The process was exceptionally efficient and I could not be more grateful.

  2. Review titled Good experience

Rated 3 stars out of 5

I had a very good experience on Tuesday a lovely doctor, very kind and thorough. He listened and nothing was unexplored. However this has not always been my experience last year 2023 I was ill all year and was seen by several doctors who were very dismissive of my problems, not all of them 3 doctors were very good. However in the end I had to see a private thyroid specialist and was then thoroughly investigated and listened to I understand my problem was quite specialised and I do not regret seeing the private doctor, but for a year I suffered with my thyroid despite numerous visits to the gp and was in my opinion dismissed as a “neurotic patient”

  3. Review titled A Good Practice

Rated 4 stars out of 5

I received a very good service from this practice again today. It is certainly more difficult to get an appointment these days but that is general and not just down to one practice; I went on line at 8 a.m. with details of my problem and received a same day appointment.

I was able to book an appointment for the same day to see a GP and a prescription was sent straight to the pharmacy.

I visited the practice for an appointment today and was referred to a locum practitioner. He was incredibly knowledgable and patient. All of the doctors are lovely here but this made me feel really cared for. Thank you!

Been seeing the nurse for a few years now because I was pre-diabetic but now have Type 2. Tried to control it with diet but seem to have plateaued so have to take medication now. The nurse is so kind and knowledgeable, lots of helpful tips and reassurances. A credit to the practice

  7. Review titled Why have a local GP?

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 24 July 2024

A recent gout flareup has caused some quite considerable pain over the last day or so, and with me running short on my prescribed naproxen to help manage with the pain I called my local GP for help. After calling at 08:00 sharp, to the greeting of the phone lines are full, I tried the online enquiry form of which this has "hit its maximum number of entries for the day". It was 10 past 8 in the am. Persistence meant I finally got through to the telephone queue, position 14 and a nice 28 minute wait, to get through to the reception. To then be told I couldn't get a repeat prescription due to time, understandable, and would need to see a doctor again understandable. But what I don't understand is, how there are no foreseeable appointments at my local GP never mind seeing someone that day, and I am asked to go to the walk in center in Derby, where they may have an appointment for me later that week. This is all well and good but I work 8-6, we're a one car household and my partner needed the car that week, and to be told their is public transport is great but I cannot walk because I'm having a severe gout outbreak. Really not impressed, I've been with Mickleover medical center for my entire life and they seem to be getting worse, I suspect the vast increase in new houses hasn't helped but to anyone considering moving here (if they are taking new people) my advice would be don't, certainly if you are looking for a local GP, because for me it's basically a call center.

  8. Review titled Great gp

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Julie Gowtage - Posted on 02 May 2024

Got an appointment by calling at surgery 8am. When I’d rang phone kept saying messaging was full as soon as I rang number. No other options to get appointment. Was so nice to see this though Gp back at M’over surgery again. Not seen for years. Always so pleasant, helpful & reassuring but thorough.

Rang on a Monday morning about my young daughter and call answered by a friendly and efficient receptionist. Appropriate advice given and appointment arranged for later in the day following a triage call. Very pleased with receptiveness and standard of care provided

  10. Review titled Good doctor

Sometimes this surgery is really hit or miss. But the Dr I saw today with my two children was absolutely fantastic and exactly what you wish every GP to be like.
