  1. Review titled Good practice

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 24 January 2025

The surgery is usually very good in giving appointments to see doctors personally but there are time when one is referred to go elsewhere (uxbridge/ruislip etc) . This is not helpful when one is not well in the first place and don't drive. I think this can be improved if the question was asked. However, i had an appointment to day after a long time and the issue was addressed well.

  3. Review titled Disappointing and Upsetting experience

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 30 January 2025

I had to convert my private HRT prescription to NHS prescription, which i was told will take upto 5 working days. However this took over a month to do so. That is not the only thing when i was calling and asking very politely about it I was told if I am in a hurry I should get it privately since i have done it before. The whole reason i had to go privately, even when it was expensive is because i was not getting any help or support about menopause with surgery. Everytime i would receive a link to read and decide for myself on symptoms, care and medicine. I was very disappointed and upset when i was told not to keep calling and go get the medication again provately. The lady who spoke to me was very abrupt and firm, the tolerance policy note which is marked everywhere in the surgery should apply to the staff too. I had no choice but to get my medication privately even second time. Finally it was sorted after almost 6 weeks. I feel these receptionists are passive bullies who can speak to patients abruptly (almost rudely), rushing them (not patient), firmly (too assertively) but patients I am sure are too affraid to complaint :-( There was no consistency in what i was being told about the query. Initially i was told i need to feel out a form, which was not the case. then i was informed it will be 5 working days, again which was not the case. Nobody could tell me excatly what was going on plus given the time it was taking, no one picked up the phone to tell me what was going on. there were so much back and forth and unless i looked at my NHS app I would have had no idea that they had a query with it. Again all the questions were not asked at the same time, it was one at a time which obviously took way too long and i had to get my medicine privately again. It is not cheap my desperation to go private should not have been taken as a priviledge to tell me that go private again:-( I am really disappointed and upset about the whole experience.

  4. Review titled Amazing GP Practice

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Michelle - Posted on 25 January 2025

I had a consultation recently and it was a very positive experience. The GPs are very professional, caring, they listen to me, they are very patient and give me their time. The GP looked at my record and discussed the best way forward. I am lucky that we have an amazing GP surgery in our area. Seeing a GP there can be compared to a consultation with a consultant!

  5. Review titled Very reactive

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Karen tanner - Posted on 28 January 2025

I am asthmatic and I caught the latest virus which went straight to my chest. My peak flow was down to 180. I sent an early request and they triaged me within 1 hour and called me with an appointment at one of their sister surgeries that morning. Treatment received and a dash to A and E averted.

  6. Review titled Excellent Reception Servive

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Patrick Scriven - Posted on 08 October 2024

I rang the surgery to ask how l go about requesting a specific blood test. I thought I may be sent away to complete a form online. Instead, the receptionist was most helpful and completed the form for me there and then. Being elderly and not hi tech I found the service l received to be excellent.

  7. Review titled Please make your receptionists more helpful.

Rated 3 stars out of 5

This is the third time that I have booked blood tests or vaccinations on line after invitation but when I arrive there is no booking. There is obviously something wrong with your system. To be told to go away and call again next week is very unsatisfactory.

Dear Patient Thank you for taking the time to provide this feedback. Mountwood Surgery is disappointed that any patient should have a bad experience when booking an appointment or when dealing with any of our receptionist staff, and therefore take any negative feedback seriously. This feedback has been shared with the Operations Manager and our two Patient Service Advisors, who oversee the reception team, as an opportunity to ensure patient communication, such as you state, does not occur in the future. However, the lack of patient details precludes the practice from reaching out to resolve these booking failures or from assisting you with future bookings. There may be various reasons why your bookings did not occur, and not necessarily a fault in our system, but Mountwood Surgery cannot investigate further without more information, which we are willing to receive. I am sorry that Mountwood Surgery has let you down on this occasion. C. Bateman Practice Manager

  8. Review titled very bad experience at Physiotherapist Appointment

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 25 June 2024

The physiotherapist was late by 15 minutes for the appointment. While I understand that delays can sometimes be unavoidable, I was not given any explanation or apology for this delay, which I found quite unprofessional. Throughout the appointment, I found the physiotherapist's demeanour to be disconcerting and unsettling. Her facial expressions and tone of communication were quite dismissive and made me feel uncomfortable and unwelcome; and that my concerns were not taken seriously. Additionally, she seemed unprepared for the appointment. She was reading the notes on my medical record during the appointment rather than preparing ahead of time. This lack of preparation was evident and contributed to my feeling that the appointment was not conducted in a professional manner. Moreover, she did not explain properly the purpose and scope of the appointment or what the session would entail, leaving me feeling confused and unsure of what to expect. Additionally, she failed to proactively inform me that the scope of the appointment was only partial and did not cover all musculoskeletal areas of my concerns. This lack of communication left me feeling that my health issues were not adequately attended to. In addition, I observed that the physiotherapist did not ask appropriate questions relevant to my concerns, which further contributed to my dissatisfaction. I was also troubled by the physiotherapist's inappropriate comments on unrelated medical records and the dismissive remarks made regarding my additional requests on the "Patches Form". These actions were not only irrelevant but also made me feel unheard and disrespected. As a patient, I believe that clear communication, professionalism, and respect are essential components of any healthcare interaction. Regrettably, these standards were not met during my recent appointment.

Dear patient Thank you for taking the time to provide this feedback. Mountwood Surgery is disappointed that that any of our eleven thousand plus patients should have a bad experience with any of our clinical or administrative staff, and therefore take any negative feedback seriously. Our physiotherapist appointments are scheduled for twenty minutes, to allow the session to focus on the immediate concerns of the patient. This twenty Sometimes this time allocation is insufficient for some patients, as their health problems may require more time. In such circumstances, another appointment would be required, as extending the session with one specific patient will have a knock-on impact to the following patient appointment. I apologise if this opportunity to provide a further session was missed. The team will take this feedback into consideration as a lessons learnt, to improve future care. We pride ourselves that Mountwood Surgery put patients our first with a commitment to quality of care: striving for excellence and safety in all aspects of care. I am sincerely sorry that Mountwood Surgery has let you down on this occasion. Chris Bateman Practice Manager Mountwood Surgery Mail: c.bateman6@nhs.net

  10. Review titled Great practice

Rated 5 stars out of 5

GP practice is more quick but rather giving reports are very sometimes late. Going other health centre for different checking is really annoying.Hope this Patrice will be improved very soon. Doctors and others are very friendly and cooperative. Checking health and and listening the patient complain with lots of patience. Prescribe medicine is methodically also amazing. All other departments ( blood testing , scan , X-ray ) and their prompt service also appreciate able My experiences are excellent. But overall I am very much satisfied and happy. Thanks the NHS for their continuous support and good efforts.
