    I am severely visual impaired, and find it very difficult to get through to the practice, having to keep redialing the number. Today after several attempts to get through to them, which took 20 minutes, only to be told I was 24th in the queue, it took over 45 minutes to finally to speak to someone, only to be told all the phone consultation appointments had gone and to call back this afternoon. I am suffering with a bowel problem, the TV adverts say contact your GP with these symptoms, there having a laugh,shame I can't.

    I had a query re a minor injury, I entered the details in an online message to the practice. Within 2 hours a doctor had reviewed my comments, looked at the picture I attached, phoned me and suggested a prescribed medication. It must be really tough to be sitting in the NHS and serving the community - yes booking calls and getting appointments does take time, but today this prompt service using technology was superb. Let’s keep encouraging the doctors and admin teams doing their very best. Today’s response was impressive. Perhaps many more could use messaging services over face to face appointments where it’s appropriate. Thank you

    Ongoing bi lateral ankle/foot pain which I felt was never taken seriously enough. Numerous visits to different doctors did not establish anything. I felt I was not listened to and only finally had an MRI 6 months later!

    I arrived for an appointment this morning which I booked approx 3 months ago. I entered details on the 'system' and was told that I had no appointment. I spoke to the receptionist to see what had happened and she just said I needed to book another appointment....I then told her that I had confirmed the appointment approx a week ago....she was not interested.....I then showed her the paper slip I was given when I made the original appointment....she was not interested. I had done everything correctly, but no sympathy (or apology) from the receptionist....no wonder they get 'grief' at the reception desk if they adopt this approach to customers.

    I attended an appointment on 31st of June. I had never met this doctor before, there was no introduction and to this day I don't know his name. I was suffering with severe sickness and a pain under my ribcage. I had a quick examination and referred to A&E for an ECG. I never got any diagnosis until I saw a doctor at hospital and told that I had Gallstones. I consider my visit to the GP to be very unsatisfactory.

    Dear Patient, thank you for your review, I am very sorry to read of your unhappiness with us last June, 2023. I would far rather have had a direct complaint from you, 8 months ago at the actual time of this unhappiness so that I could have reviewed what had happened for you at the time of the incident. I am glad to read that we referred you on to the secondary care, specialist doctors at the Hospital who were able to diagnose your condition for you and I sincerely hope that you are in better health now.     Needed to leave a hospital discharge document with the practice. I was asked if I wanted the doctor to read it! Within a week had issues with a stitch within the wound from my operation. Staff got very uppity when I insisted on being seen saying they’d have to cancel someone else. Struggle to get appointments, staff are extremely unhelpful, made to feel at times as if no one cares and u am being a nuisance.

We have made many changes to our appointments systems since October 2023, its now much easier to ask us for an appointment via our contact form from the website, www.nvhmedicalpractice.co.uk and click onto the contact us form, tell us about either your medical or administration ask, fill in the 5 simple questions on the form, these requests are then reviewed by a clinician and then the best option is offered to you, so if you were looking for a nurse appointment for having a stich removed, you tell us that information and a member of our team would contact you with an offer of an appropriate appointment, or in some circumstances if we are able to send you a URL link where you could choose an appointment date and time that suits you.     Although getting very frustrated about how long it takes to get hold of someone at Nene Valley Medical Practice, having to have made contact with them numerous times over the last 2 weeks, each time when I was finally answered I was very impressed with the staff and how they went out of their way to help me, it is very easy for us to complain but ultimately it is not the staff’s fault, and I feel we should not take our frustrations out on them.

    In the last 2 weeks I have had to have 3 appointments at Nene Valley Medical Practice, I can not praise the staff enough they are a credit to the Health Centre, so kind makes you feel at ease definitely went the extra mile, in these challenging times for both patients and staff. Thank you

    On Monday 30.05.2023 I wanted to make an appointment for my wife to see the doctor. I tried in person at the Nene medical center -failed . I tried by phone - failed. After 40 minutes of calling I gave up. The worst clinic in England I have ever dealt with. And there were some

    Good afternoon, thank you for taking the time to post us a review and I am sorry to read your comments it appears you have had issues in accessing our at times overstretched services. With regard to difficulty accessing our service, it is true that we do struggle at times to keep up with the demand for our services. We are always trying to improve and a relatively new initiative that is helping is the introduction of Accurx Patient Triage. You can access this from the home screen of our website, Nene Valley Hodgson Medical Practice – Medical Doctors in Werrington Peterborough (nvhmedicalpractice.co.uk) there is a banner just under our name, which states “Need help with a non-urgent medical or admin request? Contact us online. If you click onto the submit, a new request button you can then really simply and easily tell us about your non-urgent medical or admin query. Our staff are working through these requests daily and booking in telephone consultations where appropriate for patients, so this system is then reducing the number of patients that need to call us up to access our services. So this new system is actually opening up another way to effectively contact us and get a response quickly and easily. As this is a relatively new initiative we are closely monitoring the numbers of medical and admin requests we are getting in through this portal as we then need to ensure we can respond to these queries in a timely manner. 111 is also another option for patients to gain access to services from the NHS, 111 was set up in 2011 to make it easier and quicker for patients to get the right advice or treatment they need, be that for their physical or mental health, this service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, they also have an online presence at nhs.uk to get an assessment. Although they are a telephone/online service with no physical base themselves, they have the ability to book patients who need more urgent help into both Urgent Treatment Centres and also directly into the GP Practice’s own appointment system if deemed clinically needed.” I hope this information is helpful for you going forward.
