Had a great experience today. Filled in the online form at 8am which was so easy to complete. Had a phone call at 08:25 & an appointment at 09:30. The whole process was just so easy, the person who called me was lovely and so helpful. Very professional & friendly service. Thank you!

Review titled Great new efficient service
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Mrs Young - Posted on 22 July 2024
My daughter was in pain with what I thought looked like some sort of infection. I Filled in online submission together with picture and got a call back within 2 hours and prescribed antibiotics. No more listening to automated voice messages, or having to book in being poorly 3 weeks in advance, the new system is amazing. Drs and staff are all exceptionally helpful who work long hours and as a patient of over 15 years, I couldn’t be more grateful for everything they do.

Review titled COVID Booster
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Vivien McCoubrey - Posted on 27 April 2024
Could not fault arrangements for COVID booster jabs today (4/2024). Met by a volunteer at the car park - who was smiling even though it was raining; guided into a queue for the jab where I had to wait all of 30 seconds ! Very pleasant and efficient health professional administered the jab. Ushered out by another friendly volunteer who wished us a good day. The NHS - and GP practices especially- often come in for criticism. I would like to say that I experienced excellence today. Inasmuch as having a vaccination can be enjoyable- this was. Thank you Newbury Street.

Review titled Helpful young man
Rated 4 stars out of 5

I have phoned twice in the last 2 weeks, both for my children. The young gentleman who I spoke to get a call booked in is so helpful, friendly and kind. 10/10 service from him both times.

Review titled Nightmare
Rated 1 star out of 5

If I attempt to play the extremely insulting "first past the post" game when you have to phone up at half past eight exactly, every morning, I rarely get through. It's an insult to me that I have to do this after many years of paying taxes. I can't get through on anima either, because it has apparently been changed slightly. I have several medical issues that I need to talk to my doctor about, but it has been turned into a mission impossible scenario, which is beyond poor for a practice that it's been alleged actually care. I refuse to play these nonsense games to be seen. For once in your lives, show some professionalism and do your jobs. I'll give you a good example, I was booked in for blood tests and a blood pressure test a couple of weeks ago, it was only when I arrived that I discovered you cancelled my appointment, no text, no call. I booked the day off because of this. I have medication prescribed by my previous gp here which isn't working. I'm sick and tired of this place playing games with my health.

Dear Patient thank you for your feedback. I am sorry you have had a poor experience. I am on leave from today for a week or I would offer you my email address to respond to but as it is I feel it would be more appropriate to ask you to put a complaint in via our website. This can then be dealt with appropriately by our practice manager. We can only change things which are not working if we are given the chance to investigate it thoroughly and then make any adjustments. Please go to the practice website and fill out a complaint form and an investigation will be done into the circumstances surrounding your appointment. Kind Regards Gail Wells IT Lead Newbury Street Practice

Review titled Unprofessional
Rated 4 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 23 February 2024
My first visit to the newly refurbished surgery. Was met inside by a nice chap who asked if needed assistance. Told him it was my first visit since redevelopment, and he kindly showed me to the Newbury Street Practice. Unfortunately all downhill after that. Went for a blood test. Was five minutes late. I did phone and receptionist thanked me for calling and letting them know. I was seeing a “so called” health care professional. I was pleasant to her, apologised for my lateness, and asked her how her day was going. I received no reply. Absolutely no response. I persisted. Commenting on the weather. Again, nothing. At this point I was looking to see if she had hearing aids. Surely she must be deaf. Not deaf, ignorant. And in turn unprofessional. During the taking of blood, it is good practice, not to mention good manners, to make the patient aware that a needle is about to be stuck into their arm. No such warning. No explanation of the procedure, she didn’t even introduce herself. You may be wondering why I’ve given the rating I have, if my experience was so disgraceful. It’s because this individual’s behaviour and attitude is not a fair reflection on the vast majority working at the health centre. I have no idea why this person was having such a bad day, but I do know it had absolutely nothing to do with me. Where are you getting these people?

Review titled Lovely service
Rated 4 stars out of 5
by Rachael - Posted on 03 January 2024
I was worried about contacting the practice having seen some poor reviews for getting appointments on social media recently, but when I called today to make an appointment with the nurse I was surprised to be caller number 1 in the queue and the person that I spoke to could not have been more friendly or helpful, and I was given an appointment within 48 hours of my call. Excellent service!

I phoned yesterday and talked to a kind receptionist and then a caring empathic understanding doctor who listened intently to why I had to talk with her about my concerns ,she was very supportive and helpful and kind, I really needed it yesterday because of circumstances, and found that they were all so helpful I was overwhelmed by the kindness they showed me. So I wanted to express my appreciation to all at Newbury st Practice .

Review titled Excellent Service
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Marc Millett - Posted on 20 December 2023
My GP proactively contacted me to follow up on an area of concern she identified on an x-ray after an emergency hospital admission. After treatment, the issue was resolved. Typical of the thoroughness, professionalism, and efficiency of both her and all of the Newbury Street Practice team that I have experienced since joining a year ago. Thank you all.
