I contact the GP on Thursday on behalf on my elderly relative. Unfortunately they had two falls through the night Tuesday. I contacted to see what could they do and how we could support my relative who is 90, they live with their spouse who... isn't a spring chicken. The receptionist went above and beyond and within 2 hours, a doctor had called, two occupational therapists completed an assessment via a home visit. My relative had a medication review to get their tablets right and within 24 hours all aids had been delivered. I am so thankful for the quick turnaround, it has relieved so much pressure and I feel a lot better knowing my loved one has aids. The receptionist was extremely professional, knowledgeable, empathetic and did everything I asked for and more. Thankyou so much

I was so scared about all my resent test results regarding being diabetic the staff on the main desks don't get enough applause they was absolutely brilliant with me

On the 10th October I attended Newgate Street Medical Centre to obtain steroids and antibiotics for an asthma flare up from one of the nurse practitioners. Whilst discussing my condition I deteriorated rapidly and critically. Had it not been for the practitioner’s crucial intervention in administering a strategic nebuliser and immediately calling an ambulance I truly believe the outcome would have been very serious for me. As well as the said practitioner’s professionalism, kindness and reassuring support I would like to thank the numerous receptionists/administration staff that also assisted in monitoring my care and ensuring extra monies was deposited for an additional car parking ticket. The whole team went above and beyond their duties/responsibilities on the 10th to ensure that I was able to receive the treatment I needed in resus at Bassetlaw Hospital. I cannot thank you all enough.

I had seen great improvements in the support and service offered by the practice over the last year, new systems working well and reception staff being helpful and patient. Until this last encounter! Admittedly, this issue is entwined with hospital consultants and test results. Having called to get test results and find out more information (I was cc’d into a letter to my GP stating new medication and a procedure was required) I was told to call back and press option 5, I did so and was asked “what do you want to know “ , I explained that I’d never seen the consultant and only ever had a phone consultation a year ago, followed by a scan with dye! It was then suggested that I call the consultants secretary, which I did. After waiting 10 days post letter for the practice to contact me regarding the medication addition from my consultant I decided to use the app. I went on what I thought was the correct request (test results) but unfortunately I had pressed the wrong scan name (couldn’t remember what it was called) . When I received my call I tried to explain the situation but the receptionist refused to listen! All I was being told was that I’d put the wrong name for the scan and she didn’t understand what I wanted… In my frustration I said it was like pulling teeth (no swearing, just frustration) - the phone line went dead!. If I’d been given a few moments to explain this person could have helped, even if that was to pass me to another department! Zero tolerance applies both ways!

Each time I have contact with Newgate Street Surgery my respect grows. It it so easy to contact them via the OATs tool and get a speedy reply. The recent upgrade of sending a link out to book an appointment with a preferred clinician at a convenient time is fantastic. I have always been offered an appointment within my expected time frame . I was contacted yesterday to book an appointment and had that appointment today. No fuss, no waiting. Appointments run to time, occasionally a few minutes after the appointed time slot, but that is to be expected. All the staff I have had dealings with have been friendly and efficient. All in all, moving to Newgate Street from another Surgery was the best decision I have made.

I was waiting too long when I was told to come at a certain hour , I was with my 3 year old here waiting for more than 30 minutes ,that’s not acceptable when you have a kid with you .

Need to listen more to my worries when I explain, I'd like to see my doctor but can't, they usually know you when see all time, , contacting to see a doctor is not good, I don't want to tell receptionist my health problem

Dear patient, thank you for taking time to provide feedback. we have many excellent clinicians and unfortunately it is not always possible to see the same GP each time. our care navigation team ( reception) will often ask questions to help guide our patients to the correct clinician for their care, the more information that you are willing to give them the easier it is for them to help.

I had to go to the Doctors and was seen by a Nurse practitioner ( not 100% name of job title) From being greeted by her and the numerous phone calls she has made to check that everything is being done and kept on the right track, has mean lot to me, it’s just reassuring that I feel someone is concerned and making sure everything is done for me and my health problem, sometimes the NHS does feel disjointed and you can feel lost in it as a person I actually feel very well cared for.
