Review titled Always disappointing service
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Bruce Peoples - Posted on 27 June 2024
Yet again totally underwhelmed. I have a recurring gun requirement for an injection every 3 months. When I showed up today after taking time off from work they could not find my appointment. Although the injection is only a vitamin and takes a few seconds they made me go through their booking system again. This practice has extremely poor customer service and makes all customers jump through hoops. It is not a good practice.

Review titled Negligent

I called NHS 111 about worrying side effects of a medication I am taking. 111 fully understood the issue and confirmed this understanding in the follow up message they sent me. They arranged for a telephone appointment with a Nexus Health GP. Instead of calling me, The GP just sent me a text telling me they had “sent my prescription to the chemist”. So they completely misunderstood the issue and assumed I just wanted a new prescription. I checked the NHS app, and saw a new prescription for the same medication I had the issues with. They clearly didn’t properly engage with the consultation I had with 111, and just ordered me more medication without any thought, when what I needed was help with the worrying side effects I was experiencing from this very medication. When I called to enquire as to what had happened, they pretended they had tried to call me, which they hadn’t. When I told them this, they suddenly changed their story and said they had sent the prescription that I had requested on 111. I told them this wasn’t what I had requested at all, and what I needed was help with my atypical side effects. Really worrying how little attention they paid. I will be switching practices as soon as possible.

Review titled Terrible practice
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 20 April 2024
I filled in a form requesting an appointment, and was impresssed when someone called me back within the hour. From my form, they felt I was very sick and needed to be seen urgently, so arranged an appointment. However, they did not tell that the appointment would be with a PA, who was lovely but unable to progress my issue. The PA asked for a second opinion from a GP who did not speak to me and then dismissed my issue with 'Just go home and rest'. Four hours later I was in A&E and ended up being prescribed a double dose of antibiotics. And while at A&E doctors called Princess St for additional urgent information from my notes, which Princess St were unable to provide! Although the poor care is not typical of this practice, being unable to book an appointment or see a doctor is wholly typical.

Review titled Excellent assistance
Rated 5 stars out of 5

I was pleasantly impressed by the way the young receptionist helped me to make an appointment online. She guided me all the way through until the appointment of my choice was booked. Very nice person and a professional of high quality. Thank you.

Review titled Awful Service
Rated 1 star out of 5

Had Health check message on my phone to book appointment for health check. Made appointment for Wend 28/02/2024 at 8:30am Booked in reception and told to sit down. waited until 9am - no one explained to me there is a long wait or any issues just left sitting in Limbo, at which point I just walked out, phoned the helpline for Nexus health group, booked a call back. Over half an hour later I get a call back and explained the situation to them, told they would speak to a manager please hold. 15 minutes later still sitting here like a lemon listening to god awful phone music. That's enough for me, Never in all my life ever come across such shoddy and awful service, hasten to add I will have nothing more to do with this surgery or anything to do with Nexus Healthcare ever again.

Review titled Great Practice. Great Team Work.
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Anna - Posted on 17 February 2024
Last week, I accompanied my uncle (who is registered at The Princess Street Practice) to an appointment at a clinic run by King’s. Unfortunately, when we arrived we were told his appointment had been cancelled (this also happened last year with an appointment at Guy’s). No one could understand why the appointment had been cancelled and neither I nor my uncle had received any notification of such. I called reception at Princess Street Practice (as I had done on the previous occasion) and asked for clarification. The receptionist quickly contacted the relevant practitioner, who then spoke directly to the person at the clinic. After a significant amount of time and effort the problem was sorted and my uncle was seen. Why are appointments being cancelled? It causes such a terrible waste of time all round. I would like to add that I care for my 87 year old uncle and am pleased to say that thankfully, I have found the receptionists at Princess Street, attentive and able to resolve issues I have presented, in a professional and caring way. The above scenario is just one example. They liaise well with the doctors and in-house pharmacist who I have also found to be helpful and generous with their time. It’s a great team!

Review titled e consult
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 16 January 2024
I have to say I find it very frustrating that when you do an e consult that it takes the GP 6-7 working days for someone to ring you to discuss your case. There is no guarantee that this will happen even though a date is given? My daughter got overlooked and had to go and see a private GP which cost money but it had to be done as she needed a Sick Note for her work. Totally unacceptable. I think the messages that are sent to you via an email or text needs to be reviewed and looked at and worded a bit better. This information is very miss leading by giving you a date for 3 days time saying that the practice will respond by phone, text or email . Although you already get a message thanking you for submitting your request. Once you submit your request then a date needs to be sent to you within 24 hours giving you a date when the GP will contact you to discuss your case. I am not sure if this is a good service to be honest?? I think it all needs to be reviewed and looked into.

Review titled Lovely Manager
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Sarah - Posted on 05 December 2023
I was in desperate need of help with a referral appointment that had been cancelled by Guys hospital so I contacted the princess st clinic. The manager there (I’m told I can’t mention names) was so quick to get back to me and so kind with how she dealt with it. She got me back into the system in minutes and my referral appointment was reinstated. I’m very grateful for the quick action and empathy I was shown.

Review titled Poor service
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 15 December 2023
They took a long time to respond to my e-consult (multiple days after their target response time), were very late to their phone call slot, and rushed through the phone call. The doctor on the phone didn't introduce herself, blamed my issue on the last medical condition I had (treated and clearly unrelated), but said reception would get in touch to organise blood tests. Reception did not get in touch to organise blood tests. Meanwhile I was missing work, barely able to get out of bed on some days and my hair was literally falling out. I have moved GP surgeries and would recommend no one deals with this practice. Another enquiry I made was about getting a medical certificate for work. I had to phone their central reception. The operator was unhelpful and rude, palming me off onto the reception at the surgery and telling me I'd have to walk in to enquire. I just went elsewhere.
