Review titled Excellent service
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Carol Buss - Posted on 08 October 2024
I filled an econsult mid morning, called back within 15 mins and offered an appointment an hour later. GP was amazing, friendly, informative, and I was totally confident and comfortable with her. She is referring me today to specialist service. I couldn't have asked for any more

Review titled Fantastic doctor
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Mary Clare (Polly)Cook - Posted on 18 July 2024
My doctor is literally the best GP I have ever had. She is knowledgeable, open minded, acts with intelligence and integrity and above all, she is extremely kind. Kindness is so important especially when you feel unwell and have a complex little understood condition. .She is a real credit to the practice and I feel so lucky to have her as my GP. I only wish there were more GPs like her . Thank you so much . Truly grateful

After not knowing how to make an appointment I managed to do an online appointment as I am not very good with these things. I was phoned very quickly after and offered an appointment that day. Amazing and I was listened to and got help for what was needed . Made my next appointment and came out feeling relieved thank you

Review titled Nothing but problems!
Rated 1 star out of 5
by James - Posted on 18 April 2024
A terrible doctors surgery, for every 2 things they do right they do 20 things wrong. Done an anim 2 days for a infection which is irritating my rhinitis. This GP sent me to ENT, they told them to give me Doxycycline when I get an infection. They ignored this and decided I need an asthma review, last time they recommended an asthma review to me for this, I literally got ditched by the asthma nurse no asthma plan in place, no help advice or follow up and was more interested in telling me how she doesn't believe in medicine. Then I had an ambulance out due to not being able to breath and an asthma attack caused by a sinus infection that could of been prevented. I've had many problems with this surgery since I joined ranging from mistake to abusive comments, being forgotten and left.

Dear James Thank you for your feedback. I apologise for your poor experience. I can confirm that the GP did try to call regarding your request but unfortunately this went to answer phone. Thank you for also contacting me directly at the surgery and speaking with me on the phone. Your prescription has now been issued and sent electronically to your nominated pharmacy. If you wish to discuss this further please don't hesitate to contact me. Kind Regards Kerry Deputy Practice Manager.

Review titled Extremely poor

Oncologist has prescribed tablets for cancer email was sent to surgery who confirmed it had been received went into surgery to find out if my prescription was ready they knew nothing about it & said no email from oncologist had been received I was told yesterday it had receptionist checked with a colleague who said they had got it. I told her this was urgent she assured me it would go to chemist after 6 pm. Chemist have not received it. Called surgery they couldn’t give me an answer why I was told that except the GP had chosen not to do it today. I was then told Marie would have ut tomorrow but couldn’t guarantee it would be done tomorrow. My oncologist wanted me on these tablets no later than 2 weeks after consultation which has now gone over that time. I get the feeling surgery do not care or have any empathy towards my concerns. I’m at a complete loss on what to do I will call oncologist tomorrow for help and advice. I am so cross with the service I have received today why does this surgery make things so hard and stressful

Review titled Another referral not been done
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 11 October 2024
Saw a Dr on the 12th of March to have a referral sent to general surgery for my hernia to be repaired. Found out on the 1st October 2024 it hasn't been done. My wife and I have emailed the practice manager and the operations manager. No reply from the practice manager, operations manager got the secretaries to ring and confirmed it had not been done and that they need to speak to the GP,.had no communion since and now being ignored after numerous emails sent for confirmation of the referral had been done. Unfortunately this is a comment issue with this surgery, now the 3rd time referral end up not being done and having to chase it up.

Review titled Great practice, but simple mistake made
Rated 4 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 25 March 2024
I visited the practice to have blood tests, due to extreme tiredness and feeling fatigue, after a few days I recieved a text message to say my bloods had all came back normal, therefore I was going mad thinking what are these symptoms then, fast forward to 5 days after I got another message saying I had low folate and doctor had prescribed me folic acid. This was very confusing, I had been told a few days previous nothing was wrong. I rang surgery to just let them know what had happened and the receptionist had explained what had happened, but being sent messages saying bloods are normal when there not should not be happening. It's a shame because this doctor surgery is generally very good and always helpful.

Review titled Medication review
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 15 January 2024
So I done an econsult for my medication review, dr rang me 2 hours after my appointment time and it was obvious she hadn’t even read my notes as just put it down to anxiety and depression when I was out on those certain tablets for a different reason. Anyway said Dr wanted to re-refer me back to the Beacon to which I declined and said absolutely not as in the last year I’ve been passed from pillar to post going from the GP to the Beacon and so on the Beacon don’t care and it shows, but then neither does my GP any who I was told said Dr would book me in with one of the mental health nurses all well and good accept the mental health nurses only work once a week and if you’ve already seen one you have to see the same one which I’ve never heard of and think is just ridiculous. And that said Dr would speak to another Dr and come up with a plan on what to do and find out where else they can refer me to for help rang last Monday to find out what was happening as I hadn’t heard anything to be told by the receptionist oh yeh ill speak to said Dr which won’t be till the afternoon and see what she advises and ill give you a call back never received the call back and still a week later I haven’t heard nothing. The nhs is going to downhill especially for mental health once you have a specific diagnosis of bpd you get labelled and no one wants to help let alone do anything, I’ve also told multiple health care professionals that I think I could also be bipolar as I have traits of it and I just get laughed at for it so at this rate I think it’s time to go private as it’s the only way I’m going to get the help I need and want

Review titled Unorganised chaos
Rated 1 star out of 5

I’ve been waiting for a Dr to fill in an ofsted form for three months, each time I call, email or visit the surgery I’m told it’s with the Dr. Three times now I’ve been told ‘the Dr is doing it today’ My family can’t continue to work without this form. My wife’s surgery took 7 days to complete and return the same form. I also had my DVLA forms lost and then take twice as long as the deadline given by the DVLA but when I chase both up I’ve been spoken to as if I’m a nuisance or not being patient. This is peoples lives that are being disrupted so when we call to enquire please at least have some compassion rather than act like we need telling off.

Dear Patient, Thank you for your feedback. We usually allow 21 days for completion of medical forms as they are non NHS work, however, 3 months is unacceptable and I will be raising this as a significant event so we can learn from our mistakes going forward. I apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused you and your family. Kind regards Louise Dobbyn Practice Manager louise.dobbyn@nhs.net
