  1. Review titled Baby immunisations

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Claudia Davies - Posted on 25 November 2024

Went in for baby’s 1 year old immunisations and left in tears over how I was made to feel. After a fault with system not having my appointment in their calendar, despite me receiving appointment reminder. (That’s just my bad luck) I had to wait and then told to come back after a nursery pickup. I was then called in after a fair wait again with two children, at this point grisley/ hungry. Told by the nurse of the familiar risks involved. I was happy to proceed. Then I was asked if my baby was ‘well’ which I asked for clarification in a nice way - this is my 3rd child and there’s often someone sniggering in the house (is runny nose, teething… what point is ‘well’?) to which the nurse implied what sort of mother am I if I don’t know if my baby was well. She condescendingly listed all symptoms of the vaccines we were about to have and highlighted dangers of having a temperature before a vaccine. Which I totally understand and I stated that my baby has not had/ have a temperature. I was getting emotional at this point and asked if we could keep going, baby was getting agitated I wanted it all over and get out. Which she said (not wrongly again) that she can’t rush. Which I agree but asked if she could just be a bit nicer in her tone. I had brought my 2 elder children for vaccines before and I had never felt/ been talked to in this condescending/ belittling manner before. She stood and said she needed to get a witness? And went out and brought a fellow nurse in, who was kindness herself. Helped me collect myself, got me a tissue, talked to my other child who was watching this all happen. I at this point said that I should come back another time. Clearly inconveniencing this original nurse and that I shouldn’t be taking her break, I had plenty to be getting on with. That wasn’t possible the vaccines needed to be used then. So we proceeded and I got out of there as quickly as possible.

  2. Review titled Helpful friendly service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Arrived very early for a phlebotomy appointment, being prepared to sit in the waiting room. Also booked a jab which needed to be done within a specific, short timescale. Appointment booked on day I wanted. Phlebotomy appointment took place early so wasn't left hanging around. Bloods taken painlessly with minimal fuss. Very helpful receptionist and good phlebotomist.

The most caring practice I have been too. My Doctor is very helpful and nurturing, making my experience stress free and really nice. The Doctor made me feel at ease and helped explain to me my concerns.

  4. Review titled Efficient and helpful

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Debbie Abel - Posted on 31 July 2024

The procedure was efficiently completed. The health practitioner was helpful, attentive and thoughtful which put me at ease. I was given enough time to ask questions and for the practitioner to check out answers. I was seen early and following BP check was offered another appointment for a repeat check the following week. I am very satisfied. I don't need to repeat myself so cannot understand the request for a minimum of 100 characters.

The nurse I had my appointment with was wonderful, thank you so much for your kindness and professionalism. I would recommend her to anyone visiting the surgery.

  6. Review titled Great practice

Rated 5 stars out of 5

We have been using the surgery for about 20 years and have always found them really helpful. This month we have used them for two members of the family, one was fitted in on the same day for a face to face appointment and the other was a telephone consult a few hours after calling the surgery. The admin and the doctors were very helpful on both occasions.

  7. Review titled Receptionist

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 12 April 2024

Today I have experienced one of the most dreadful encounters with a member of customer services. I have called 3 days ago to get a hold of an important prescription which they had assured me would be sent to the pharmacy. It wasn’t. Called again today to resolve the issue. The receptionist proceeded to be so incredibly rude and patronising cutting me off, laughing at my expense. They haven’t bothered to apologise for their behaviour or the major oversight with the prescription which they did not order for me. The receptionist was absolutely dreadful. I felt so incredibly belittled and frustrated, because as employees of the gp surgeries they should treat people with care and understand. In the grand scheme of things all I’m asking for is some manners and basic etiquette and wasn’t even granted that. I’m so incredibly disappointed and disheartened by this because it just exemplifies the major problems within this system. All in all no one cares about the patients. I truly hope something will be done about this as I am deeply appalled.

  8. Review titled Poor service

Rated 1 star out of 5

GP’s only appear to do telephone consultations, they pass their work to associates who are not acting promptly, was told a referral was being completed a week later still no referral even though I am struggling with severe symptoms that stop me working. Was due a telephone consultation today 15.30-15.40 it’s now 18.00 still no call.

  9. Review titled GP call back after e-Consult

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 15 February 2024

I completed an e-consult in the morning and received a phone call from a doctor at lunch time which unfortunately went straight voice mail and asking me to ring back, which I rang back the surgery within 2 mins of missing the call and had to wait in queue for 30mins and frustratingly when I got to the front of the call queue, the call got cut off. So can I suggest when a doctor calls they ring twice in a row as often patients miss the first call. And then if the call is unanswered to leave patients with a different number to call rather than to use the standard number for appointments and be sat in a queue, only to be told when you get through we’ll put you back on the list which makes me worry that had I not rung back and sat in the queue twice no one would have rung me back. I was then on edge that I’d miss the call again and walked round with the phone in my hand for the rest of the day. When the doctor did call at 6.20pm they were great.

  10. Review titled The services is deteriorating week by week

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Caron - Posted on 27 February 2024

I’ve been with this practise for almost 30 years and am horrified by the service and patient care that is being shown recently. I’ve been trying to get to the root cause of a condition now for over 2 years. If I can manage to get a telephone consultation (don’t even think about seeing a GP F2f) I usually have to wait 2 weeks, then another 2-4 weeks for a nurse appt for blood tests, then, once the test results are back - another 2 weeks before you get to speak to a GP again. Often, the GP then gives you your results and sends you in your way - regardless of whether said results address original issues! Reception do their best, some are warmer than others. Altho today, when I called to ask when I could expect my GP phone consultation (that I’ve been waiting 9 days for), I was told ‘she hasn’t even started yet, so you’ll just have to wait’. I mean come on. This is becoming obscene. Really poor patient care. Absolutely shoddy.
