  1. Review titled Flu and covid vaccination

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Adrian - Posted on 14 October 2024

I had an excellent experience when attending for my recent boosters. There were plenty of assistants who were all friendly, courteous and efficient and pointed me in the right direction. The doctor and nurse were also very polite and efficient, and I was in and out in a couple of minutes. Thanks to all.

  2. Review titled Diagnosis and Treatment

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Stefan Willcox - Posted on 20 October 2024

I am not a regular visitor to the GP surgery as I have had disappointing visits previously but 10 months ago I visited my GP to discuss a minor issue. I was lucky to have accessed a GP who read my prior history and wanted to carry out a full screening blood test as I had never had one since I’d turned 50. As a result of this it was flagged that my PSA was high at 7.0 so my Dr advised that we would repeat the blood test again a couple of weeks later to see if it was an anomaly. The second test came back as 8.2 and my GP on receiving this score called me to arrange an urgent appt and a referral to the Kettering Urology dept. I cannot praise my GP enough as I have since been successfully treated for prostate cancer having undergone the robotic prostatectomy. As a side note I had raised this with another GP in ~2018 where I was told not to bother as all males get prostate cancer so don’t worry about it. Thankfully my recent GP interaction wasn’t dismissive and carried out the correct course of action and I am extremely greatful to him.

  4. Review titled Brilliant service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I had a review appointment. I was treated with respect and kindness. The information I was given was relevant and very helpful. My treatment has been challenging and all along I have been well supported. I cannot fault the commitment and professionalism displayed. The doctors have been especially excellent but the medical staff and receptionists have also been brilliant. In challenging times this practice is trying it's very best.

  5. Review titled Excellent service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I called the surgery for an appointment at 08:00, 15th in the queue, I was answered after 10 minutes and explained I had found a lump on my chest, I was given an appointment that afternoon. I have been referred to Kettering for an appointment in the next 2 weeks. I could not expect a more thorough or efficient outcome. Initially reception - I am very grateful for a speedy appointment. Secondly the doctor - I am very grateful for the referral so quickly. Thank you Amazing service.

  6. Review titled Excellent Clinicians

Rated 4 stars out of 5

    by N S Hume - Posted on 13 March 2024

Had never used this practice since I moved 3 years ago .but needed prompt care this week . Today I was seen by GP in training and a senior GP for new symptoms . I also had tests performed by an HCA . All three individuals showed kindness , sensitivity and a professional approach . The final plan of action was well considered and in my view showed high levels clinical competence and included shared decision making . To get the appointment I had to attend at 0756 hrs this morning to await opening . Telephone encounter failed to allow a booking the day previously. Thank you

  7. Review titled Getting an appointment

Rated 2 stars out of 5

    by jane o'borne - Posted on 25 March 2024

I have tried getting an appointment a few times. I have wanted an appointment since Christmas, but to get one I have tried to carry on without one, as getting one you need time to sit on the phone to wait in queue. Anything from 20 minutes to 30 minutes & then to be told there are no appointments. They have now brought out something called Amina. This is useless a) its run out of appointments. b) then told when I rang surgery I was not registered! When I did get one the Doctor told me when I asked about another problem, he told me he was only an emergency doctor & only allowed 1problem. This is ridiculous, 1 surgery for Oundle & surrounding villages.

  8. Review titled Can never get an appointment!

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 09 February 2024

Shocking access. Call at 8am, queue for 30-40 mins to be told no appointments, “go to the walk-in centre!” Even with small children who clearly need antibiotics, can’t offer you anything. With non-urgent appointments won’t let you book in advance so can literally never get an appointment for anything! I have resorted to ringing 111 when urgent, they answer quickly and have secured me appointments with the very doctors who’ve just turned me away??!! Have had issues with prescriptions, either not there or changing processes without telling me. Even told I couldn’t return out of date epipens because they don’t have a sharps bin? I have to call the council to collect them - what do you do with the needles used in practice then? When you get through/see a doctor they are usually really helpful, it’s the system that’s not fit for purpose. Why can’t you book in advance for routine stuff? If your appointments have gone why not send a message to say so rather than continue to let me hold for no reason? I understand the pressures, but your whole set-up is completely inaccessible.

  9. Review titled User unfriendly, poor customer facing service

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Ian Palmer - Posted on 17 January 2024

Can't make an appointment, don't want to speak to you when you call, don't think you know what you're on about, rude, abrupt, unhelpful. Referred me to Corby urgent care centre where I was seen straight away by pleasant and professional staff.

Rated 1 star out of 5

Ring for 8.00am. 37 in queue yet again. Probably a 40 minute hold for no appointments available. 3rd time this year.
