    I have had to visit my surgery more frequently this year and I cannot rate it highly enough. Receptionists, GPs, nurses and HCAs are all wonderful, supportive, reassuring and so friendly

    I had a 24hr ecg done at Purley War Memomiral hospital this was requested by my practice . I called them 10 times to see if they have received my results for my ECG . Each time they said they have not so I called Cardiology dept at Croydon University Hospital and they told me they sent the results to the practice on the 25/05/2023

    What about the visually impaired? What about the old? What about those who have neither computer nor wifi, nor mobile phone? What about the illiterate or foreign tongued? There was a time when one could turn up and be seen in due course. There was a time when one could turn up or ring for an appointment. Gradually the entire interface between the sick, in the widest term, and the medical practitioner has been eroded into a bureaucratic nightmare. And then there is the void between 12 and 14.00 when everything de facto crashes. And if I have got it wrong it is your fault for making the process complicated. Fine for a brilliant 30 year old computer wizard designing the system, not so good for an 86 year old challenged oldie who wants to see a doctor soonest on a Friday, with a weekend looming. The overall image is that your system and your enterprise is not customer orientated, but is aimed at Practice ease coming first centre and second. It is unfortunate that you do not have a 'user's group' to vet your stealth. Allied, I wonder if you have ever surveyed the amount of time spent by GPs on phone and keyboard compared with direct contact with the sick. As always one is impressed by any member of the team when one manages to get through the minefield, in effect, of restrictive practices. But, in short, at present, the operation from the users' point does not appear to be fit for purpose.

    Dear Mr Round Thank you for your feedback regarding our new triage system, Klinik. It was great to speak to you today and I hope that our discussion reassured you that we have considered all of our practice population's needs. If a patient cannot use Klinik on our website for any reason, they can always access our services by telephone or by visiting the practice, where our receptionists can access the Klinik system on their behalf. One of the advantages of Klinik being accessible online, is that the wait on the telephone has reduced to an average time of four minutes.     I recently sent a negative comment on Parkside with particular reference to the on-line system. I attempted to get an appointment a week ago on a Friday. Nothing happened. The matter was not urgent but worrying. However, on Tuesday I was phoned at about 9.20 and though I could not see my initial doctor of choice I was given an appointment to take place a 10.10. This was done and my problem is now being managed. A couple of days later I was phoned by the Information tech lead and we had a discussion surrounding Klinic which resolved several of my concerns. I learned the system is being well used and has resulted in a significant drop in phone waiting times, indeed has greatly improved the service offered to patients. I write this to thank everyone in the Practice, and in particular those who smoothed my ancient feathers. Klinic works!

    I wasn’t a big ‘fan’ of the new system, but completely understand the necessity of it. My initial doubts were confirmed when I tried to get an appointment using the system on my mobile phone. I went through the triage questions on 4 different occasions and towards the very end, was taken back to the start of the process. My fourth attempt actually failed because the surgery closed ( 5.30). So, I was frustrated ( and unwell)but started the process again yesterday and on the advice of my son, used my laptop. This worked perfectly and I received a telephone appointment shortly afterwards. I have been a Patient at Parkside for many years and my mother was one of your Receptionists. As a family we have always received excellent care. There have been times of frustration recently, but on the whole, the good service continues. My only advice would be, use a laptop to book an appointment…the system seems to prefer it. I know the days of seeing your ‘favourite’Dr are gone, but once you manage to get an appointment, the service and good care continues.

    Dear Katie Many thanks for your feedback. I am sorry that you experienced some difficulty submitting a Klinik request using your mobile phone. I will pass your comments on to the software team. Looking at the data, 68% of patients submit their Klinik requests using their mobile phone, so hopefully your problem was a one-off. I am pleased that you received a phone call shortly afterwards. With regard to seeing a particular doctor, we are keen that patients receive as much continuity as possible, so please request a named doctor in your future Klinik cases and we will do our best to accommodate you.
