    Do not register with this GP practice. I received an email that I was no longer allowed to access online services. After calling the surgery, I was informed I had been de-registered from the surgery and the reasons were unclear. It has now left me unable to have my repeat prescription which is very distressing. This is now the second time with has happened.

    I am sorry that you have had cause to leave a negative review and that your experience has caused distress. I am sorry to read that you have had issues with your registration on two occasions. There are different reasons why there can be issues with patient registrations e,g Returned undelivered mail with failed contact. If you are free to contact the surgery and ask for the practice manager I would be happy to investigate why you had multiple registrations rejected.     I had an appointment with my GP and I was happy with the help and support I received. The receptionist was respectful and polite and my gp really listened to me. I have been registered with Parkside for 10 years finally the surgery is seeing positive changes.

    I came to my appointment 7 mins late due to traffic and was told I couldn't be seen. I specifically left my work early to come to this appointment. I am shocked that surgeries in London can wait 20 mins but in reading they can't. If this happens again I will contact the practice manager

    Good Afternoon, I hope this message finds you well. I am sorry you had cause to complain regarding attending your appointment and the frustration this caused as you had left work early to attend this appointment. We do have a 10-minute period that we allow for patients if they are late. The Electronic system automatically marks the patient as did not attend if they have not been set to arrive within those 10 minutes. We unfortunately can not allow any further time than that as it impacts the patients waiting in the booked clinic. I know this can be frustrating and I do apologize regarding this. There are occasions where if the patient speaks with management to discuss the reason this can be overturned. I am sorry to see that this happened at 7 minutes past your appointment time and I would like to look into this matter. I understand your frustration that patients can be waiting longer than the booked time for appointments but this can be due to urgent incidents that can arise and unforeseen sensitive issues that can also contribute to longer waiting times. I would like to thank you for your feedback today, as a service we learn from all feedback. If you are available I would be happy to speak with you regarding this matter either on the phone or in person but the best way for you as I understand you have work.     Working in NHS is exhausting, I understand the pressure coz I also is part of the team. However, it doesn’t give anyone an acceptable reason to treat anyone badly. My partner called today asking for help regarding his weight management problem. But, he felt judged and disrespected by who we believe is the receptionist! She did not introduced herself properly which is a standard phone etiquette. She sounds unwelcoming and unhelpful! The woman even replied on his query with “that is not my problem”. How dare she?! The fact that we called GPs because we need help and not to find someone to take over our problem or worst judge us! I hope she realised the effect of her actions on someone’s mental health. And, fyi, my partner is trying his best to fight the effect of the weight management problem on his mental health. So, I hope we need to be careful with our words and tone. Also, I hope the team will take action on this. Attitude plays a great part of quality care in which I believe your team is serious about. Thank you.

    I'm truly sorry to hear about your partner's negative experience with the receptionist at our practice . It's incredibly important for everyone in healthcare, regardless of their role, to treat patients with respect, empathy, and professionalism. No one should feel judged or disrespected when seeking help for their health concerns and in this case It's crucial for receptionist to be mindful of their words and tone, as they can have a significant impact on patients' well-being.     I have been going to Parkside over the last 2 months to review my blood pressure as I have had high blood pressue due to work stress. When you go on site you are met by the most friendly reception team even the manager will say hello to you as you wait for your appointment. I have been given solid advice on how to manage my blood pressure with medicine and holistic view as I didn’t want to just rely on medication. I felt listened to and welcomed. When your at the practice there is great information from lifestyle leaflets and a board called social prescribing which has so much information that can help with things like benefits.

    I have been a patient at Parkside for 15 years. In that time, I have had some ups and downs and i have had the best support getting back on track. The staff are not just receptionist/ practice managers they are more than that, they have been understanding, supportive and always at the end of the phone if you really need them. Covid was a difficult time for everyone, I had some issues that was delt with promptly and again supported with my stress. Hospital appointments during covid was very difficult for a lot of people but my experience was very good, i got ever appointment in the right amount of time and there was a few. Also not to forget if there is no appointments and it really really is an emergency I personaly can tell you Parkside will go out there way to get you seen that day or send you somewhere else to be seen.     This surgery continuously has an issue with appointments and patients getting access. My son is struggling with his mental health due to Oral Facial Granuloma but yet I cannot get an appointment to help him as the app always says no appointments available. I have been informed today that I should be checking the app just before or at 8:00am after trying to get an appointment for sons mental health for nearly two weeks. This practice gives out the wrong information time and time again which is unacceptable

    I would like to deeply apologise that you have had cause to complain regarding the service at Parkside Medical Centre. We have updated our appointment system so not only can you call in the morning at 8.00am you can also use the "Ask my GP" function on the evergreen app which is just under the appointment section of the app. This may have been why you were unable to get through via the app. However We also have an on the day triage list that can deal with any urgent issues and I am sorry to hear this was not offered to you and I am sorry to see that you were provided with incorrect information regarding how to access appointments via the evergreen app. I have discussed this in our admin meeting to ensure the correct information is being given to all our patients.     This is a GP showing multiple issues according to my experience: - The machine in their hall provides wrong information so you are at risk of missing your appointments. - The staff at reception makes you wait unreasonably due to their bad management of priorities when there is a queue and/or multiple people around. - The protocol informed by the doctors do not always match the reality down the line when progressing so it requires to see them multiple times for the same matter.

    I am very sorry to hear that you have had a negative experience with the service you have been receiving from Parkside medical Centre. Speaking in general , our self check in kiosk is reviewed weekly however unfortunately if a Clinician advises a patient to attend before the booked time the kiosk can not pick this up and it is something we are reviewing. It can become extremely busy during operating hours and staff will endeavour to work as quickly and safely as possible to help patients. I would like to thank you for your feedback and aim to review this in our next admin meeting to ensure that we are effectively helping at reception. At Parkside we do believe in consistency and should you wish to have a follow up with a GP of your choice we do encourage that at the time of booking please do mention the Doctor you would prefer.
