Review titled Good Practice
Rated 4 stars out of 5
by Jan Milam - Posted on 19 July 2024
My last visit to the surgery was to discuss lowering my levothyroxine thyroid tabs from 75mg pervdaybto 50mg per day for a period of time as my recent blood tests showed there was a problem. I agreed to try this depending on how I felt and would contact them straight away if there were any issues. However, no one mentioned anything about Atorvastatin pills and as I already have problems with my thyroid I will not be taking them. Can you please take them off my repeat prescription. Many thanks for your help in this matter. Mrs J H Milam

Review titled Treated like low-life
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Chris Bull - Posted on 25 June 2024
Visited the surgery with my son still crying with a raging ear infection. We were called by the nurse, but when I got up I couldn't see or hear where she was. The nurse actually could not be bothered to even wait in the corridor so we could at least see where we needed to go. Several seconds later she then slid her wheelie chair just slightly out of her door as we did not know where she was. What followed was an awful experience. The nurse was extremely muted and there was little eye contact. We were made to feel an utter inconvenience. She used an otoscope to check his ears, but he was in a lot of pain. Absolutely no patient TLC whatsoever. He felt poorly enough already. The otoscope was then shone into his mouth, but it was so brief she couldn't have seen anything wrong even if she was trying. Everything was done with reluctance. At the end of the examination she muttered "that's it". I opened the door and left. I know everyone has bad days, but this felt (I hope it's not true) like bordering on despise for us bothering her. We have visited other nurses at the practice, who are phenomenal, and you could tell loved their work. There is no place for these people in our healthcare system. Get rid, or retrain these people with some at least basic social and humanity skills.

Review titled What is happening?
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Mrs Susan Thompson - Posted on 22 June 2024
Why is it taking a minimum of 30 minutes to answer a call? Twice I have called for blood test results after 2.30pm as stipulated, test over a week ago and still I have no results, yet told again to call back next week. The Practice manager was not 'in' on Friday, so now what? Currently no test results and 1 hour holding on a mobile telephone. It is not good enough!

Review titled Terrible place
Rated 1 star out of 5

I tried to get an appointment last week, even went in. I didn’t enjoy my experience. Staff was unfriendly. Since the practice manager left the place has fallen apart. Nasty staff, can’t get any appointments. The place is filthy. I heard they got rid of their cleaners put new ones in. No care or compassion.

1) Wrong advise given at reception 2) long queues 3) "computer says no" attitude from receptionist 4) prescriptions not signed despite confirmation these were issued 5) prescriptions sent to incorrect pharmacy 6) prescription kept at surgery despite confirming these were sent to pharmacy (long delays and multiple visits to rectify) 7) no privacy at crowded reception 8) errors and omissions when bringing my data from previous surgery 9) little chance for same day appointment 10) pharmacy next door not any better - multiple staff moving in glacier pace, each asking the same question again and again Summary : close it down and open a new surgery or review staff performance Note I have not spoken to the doctors and nurses yet. They might be brilliant or not...

Review titled Brilliant service
Rated 3 stars out of 5
by Stephen Gardner - Posted on 17 April 2024
Until January/February 2024, both my wife and myself have recieved excellent service from the partner doctors and practise nurses However, my recent experience with the surgery, with the receptionist (lying to us) locums (not knowing what is going on) and unknown nurses (not knowing how to give a diabetic review), has been atrocious. What has happened recently to Dr. w., Dr. w., and Dr. r., as well as Nurse S p.? The practice is now a complete shambles without them and in the hands of locums and unfamiliar nurses, who do not have any idea what is going on. Parson Drove was the best doctors practice I have ever been with - by far. Agreed, it has been a little more testing to get an appointment, however I would suggest this is because the practice is so popular. Personally, I have never had a problem with medication not being suitable or on time. It is a big mistake to substitute the partners with locums, as the personal contact is lost. It is true to say that I probably wouldn't be around to write this review, if Dr. w. had not referred me for my operations, in the timely manner that he did. Many thanks to the previous team, they were brilliant!

Review titled Lucky to have them
Rated 5 stars out of 5

The reception team at our surgery are wonderful. I have never encountered such helpful and friendly reception team at a surgery. I am so thankful for the urgency in which they dealt with the admin and care for my Gran, it was above and beyond my expectations knowing how busy they are. I have seen 2 locum doctors at the surgery more recently (one whom started today temporarily) and I have not met such conscientious, thorough Doctors in a very long time. Again, I am grateful to them both for the time and care they have taken for my family and I. Today I also encountered a nurse at our surgery who's small gesture meant the absolute world in that moment. We feel very grateful to them all. Thank you Parson Drove.

Review titled Frustrated
Rated 3 stars out of 5

Having moved to this area from London in 2021 and registering with this surgery I have to say how disappointed I am with the overall duty of care that I have received Today (21st December 2023) I went to collect my repeat prescriptions from the pharmacy next door but had to go in to the doctors surgery to ask why one of my medications (blood pressure tablets) had not been added to my prescription as I had requested, it is not on repeat and I am going to be away for 2 weeks so needed it. The response that I got from the receptionist was that it had been issued yesterday but the doctor has not signed it off yet so I asked if I could wait while he finished with his patient and she could ask him to sign it, her reply was that she could not do that as it hadn’t been authorised then she asked when was I going away I said tomorrow, she then asked me if I could come back later this afternoon and it might be ready (When looking on my medical record this evening this medication has still not been issued) I said no I was not going to be coming back as I have an 8 mile round trip and I was there now Needless to say I haven’t got my medication and will run out before I get to go back to the surgery and request it again in writing I am also confused as to how one minute it was waiting to be signed and the next it hadn’t even been issued I appreciate that here in the country the service I receive will not be the same as in London but there is no excuse for the ramshackle service I am told while waiting for them to answer the phone that I must be kind to the reception staff but shouldn’t that be reciprocated There is also a very large black hole between the surgery and the pharmacy where my prescriptions seem to get lost which then involves me being on an elastic band between the two to get my prescription often having to wait for it to be reissued I have also noticed that the surgery never seem to respond to these reviews……..why is that? Do you actually read them or don’t you care?

Review titled Very poor

Over last year the service has declined dramatically. Rude and unacceptable manner from admin and manager. The new GP is very good and nurses / Nurse practitioners but I would not recommend this surgery to anyone.
