Thank you for your feedback. We acknowledge that access is an issue, this is the same for all of Primary Care, however I would like to assure you that appointments are available, however you may need to persevere. We are sorry that we are not providing a service to you expectations.

Thank you for your feedback. Access is difficult, however we do offer the maximum appointments for the clinicians we have available. If you are really struggling with your mental health then your best option would be to self-refer to talking change rather than waiting to speak to the Practice.

Tried to do e consult but yet again can't access. On website at 6-30 and again it says tomorrow... It always shows this when I'm trying to book appointment or even ask for my sick note to be updated.

Thank you for your feedback. The eConsults fill very quickly, you can request a sick note at reception if this would be an easier alternative for you.

  5. Review titled Shocking

Rated 1 star out of 5

Absolutely shocking. I needed Mental Health help and have been trying since September with a diagnosed condition. I have been promised two emergency telephone appointments by receptionists who brushed off my illness and insisted sending me links with telephone numbers would be sufficient, I insisted I needed to speak to a GP, and on both occasions the telephone appointments never happened. I am now currently un medicated, without a mental health team and unable to speak to a doctor? Will be changing surgeries ASAP, I am greatly concerned for anyone else in my position who needs the same help.

Thank you for your feedback. This is an area where we have recently made some significant changes, we are working very closely with Talking Change who we can appoint to "on the day" to consult directly as a first point of contact. We have had really positive feedback from patients around this service, which we will continue to provide. It is important to remember that all patients can self refer to these services directly, a GP is not the most appropriate first point of contract for Mental health help.

  6. Review titled Impossible to reach

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Frustrated in North End - Posted on 20 January 2023

I have tried contacting Portsdown Group Practice in North End on numerous occasions. E Consult just doesn't work and phoning is stressful. You have to call when they open their bookings at 8 which is not always possible if you are doing the school run and driving in the car. It's very restrictive. If you actually get through you get told all appointments are gone and try again tomorrow or call 111. People need to be able to reach their GP and this surgery is broken. I was forced to move here when my old practice closed and I am so unhappy that I am even considering moving house to an area with a better surgery. I would advise staying well away from this surgery.

Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry that we are not providing a service to your expectations, we do offer urgent appointments at 8am, routine appointments at 10am and then re-open our telephone lines at 2pm. We also have on-line appointments available from 7pm each evening. Dependent on your query we also have eConsults available form 6.30pm each evening. It is of course your choice if you would like to change services.

There was a work experience student present. He showed no interest in the proceedings and this could be considered detrimental to the patient's privacy.

Thank you for your feedback. Often students are in clinical settings to observe only, this should not have a detrimental effect on a patient's privacy, however any patient can decline having a student within their consultation.

  8. Review titled Hard to imagine a less functional practice

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 23 November 2022

Impossible to access (esp if you work) - econsult 6.30pm each day only and they're usually 'full' at 6.30. Phone contact is impossible unless you've got at least an hour to try/queue/get cut off. If you manage to prevent the unmet demand from contacting you at all, you don't have to record how bad you're failing. Also - lost blood results, no comms, I have used a private GP 4 times in 2 years because of the above. Am changing practice, don't expect it to be better but it's not possible to be worse. As a google reviewer said, 'terrifying that my family's health is in their hands'. Even though we're in the death knell of public healthcare, it's hard if you're a pawn in a collapsing process

Thank you for your feedback. We are truly sorry that you find it "impossible to access". We did survey our patients and used that feedback to change the time of our eConsults being made available at 6.30pm, although these do fil very quickly. We do have a maximum capacity of phone calls that can be held in a queue, this can mean that you need to keep trying to connect, but does ensure that you do not start paying for the call until you can connect. With regards to communication of lost blood results, firstly apologies if these have been lost, however we would definitely make contact, more likely via text to ask you to repeat the test. We are clearly not providing a service to your expectations, but are sorry that you want to chose a different provider.

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Eneres Munyaradzi - Posted on 10 October 2022

I've had so many calls with the same receptionist & each time she has been amazing, always making sure that things are sorted. Very professional, very caring & understanding. Honestly you don't get this service all the time but she's been consistent & as a patient you feel you're in good hands. Today she resolved an issue for me within minutes I had a call from the doctor. Thank you honestly keep up the fantastic service for Cosham Park House Surgery

Useful information on pre-diabetes. Can't see why pre-diabetes and diabetes not dealt with by same person as had questions about diet etc for my husband who is already diabetic. However also had BP checked 3 times, Dr was contacted and my tablets were increased. Hoping we might be getting somewhere with that problem.

Thank you for your feedback, pre-diabetes and diabetes at times is dealt with by the same clinician, however sometimes an alternative clinician is more appropriate depending on what stage of prevention a patient is at.
