I had received a text about booking a tetanus injection. However when I asked at my doctor's reception they said there were no doctors so I would have to go elsewhere.

Thank you for your comments. We will send text reminders to patients, so they are aware if any vaccinations are due, however you will need to decide whether you want to travel to get that vaccination , or wait until your preferred surgery has an appointment available.

Trying to get a fit note for someone I care for who has life changing injuries has always been so hard. The doctors never read what I've written on e-consult and although they've been issuing these notes for 7 months, despite never seeing the patient, and usually after me having to ask several times, they suddenly decide it's not their job any more. As a carer I feel so depressed with this surgery, as if life isn't difficult enough! I wonder if they care about their patients losing jobs because they won't issue a sick note?

Thank you for your comments. We are sorry that we are not supporting you and the person you are caring for, sick notes should not be difficult to obtain, the easiest way is via eConsult and can be applied for once the current sick note has expired. We will share this with our team to enable learning from your experience.

I arrived early and was called in early - blood pressure taken and recorded without any problems. Out again early. 12 out of 10 for performance.

I attended the surgery as an emergency appointment after suffering crippling pains in my back. The Doctor immediately sent me to the Queen Alexander Hospital to have an MRI scan. Then the world stopped. The Assessment Room was packed with people. I was informed that people with appointments and A&E Patients would have priority and I might have along wait. 7 hours later I was still there sitting alongside another woman with the same symptoms as mine. She had been waiting for over 24 hours!!! Sitting around did not help my back in any way whatsoever and I was in agony. Eventually I saw a Doctor who booked me in for an MRI scan but also said that I would have a long wait..........possibly into the early hours of the coming night. I decided to go home and rest in bed. The next day I returned and endured another 7 hour wait but eventually had the scan. The bad news continued with the discharge nurse informing that I probably would not get the results of the scan for several weeks. The Doctors and Nurses are all so good but the NHS system is a joke.

Thank you for your comments. The doctor did the right thing by sending you to the hospital, however we cannot comment on the service received by the hospital, you would need to raise this with them for their direct comment.

  6. Review titled My recent appointment

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Contacted the surgery after consulting with the local pharmacy, and I was told to ring the following morning for a triage appointment. Never having used the system before, I called the following morning, the only option to use was "urgent appointment", which turned out to be the correct option! I was told someone would ring me back, which they did within a couple of hours and after a phone consultation, it was decided I needed to see a doctor, and was given an appointment for later that morning. When I arrived at the surgery, I used the self-check-in service and waited to see the doctor, who was very good and thorough. Overall experience was very good, once having gotten passed the initial hassle of the computerised system. Thank you

  7. Review titled Requesting a prescription

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 25 August 2022

I appreciate that saving time with seeing patients is important and can be a waste of Dr. time. For me it took 4 attempts to get a prescription. I filled in the request box on the on line systems to be emailed to say please fill in a e consult form, which I did to be emailed to say you need to speak to a Dr for this prescription. Your phone option leave you no choice but to ask for a emergency appointment so you can speak to a Dr. as the other option are not helpful and a waste of time for me as I tried them first. Following at last I get my prescription and tried four different chemist to full fill the request. The pharmacy being very helpful told me there is a supply issue which happens to be long standing. Following there advice I contact the surgery again and have to have a new prescription to say can it be a ointment instead of a cream. This all took 4 days to get my prescription but only because I chased every step of the process. May be you could try and make the process more efficient.

Thank you for your feedback. In most instances our prescription hub team are the most appropriate team to solve all your prescription needs, however some medications do require a GP to authorise. Please understand, that due to the many different types of medication that our clinicians prescribe that it is impossible to be aware of all that are currently an issue with stock and also what the individual pharmacies have in stock. We will share your experience with our team and make changes where possible.

When I first have a blood test in Crookhorn surgery, it was so painful and not long afterwards, my arm starts have a big lump and sore, I did phone up the surgery told them I was in pain with a big lump on my arm, but i was told because that day was Friday and the surgery closed soon, but if the condition it not improve tomorrow morning I should go to A&E. 2 days later the pain and the lump slowly gone away. I am so happy I had a lovely nurse who did a beautiful job, a painless experience. Thank you.

Appointment was quick. Doctor was more interested in getting me out the door then taking a bit of time over what was needed. Didn't show much care.
