  1. Review titled Fantastic flu & covid vaccination service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Caroline - Posted on 05 October 2024

I get an NHS flu vaccine annually and now also get a covid jab. The practice texted me to offer an appointment, I was able to book online for a Saturday appointment and on the day was in and out in under 5 minutes. Huge thanks to the practice team for such an efficient and well organised service.

  2. Review titled Dismal Service

Rated 1 star out of 5

Over the last year had many issues, but surgery was not accessible. Reception staff are being used as triage. They are not trained and have an appalling attitude, are rude, ignorant and disrespectful. You wait from 'you are in a Q of over 30' until you get through to them. Having been told by two consultants that I needed 1to1 appointment - no joy with surgery. Rang 111 on 19th Sept - got great help and response. Told by their doctor that surgery would make an in person appointment for 20th. Rang surgery on 20th and reception had no knowledge of any 111 contact. That was Friday. Today is Wednesday. What a shocking response from a surgery. They are abysmal.

  4. Review titled Great Practice

Rated 5 stars out of 5

The staff front-end reception are kind and helpful. I was promised a phone call the next day and I received it. I do believe that there is only so much the staff can do in a day.

  5. Review titled Thank you

Rated 4 stars out of 5

The doctor was kind, friendly and efficient. ( It was a face to face appointment) She also called back later to check a detail. I think the new phone system is much better because the call is taken into the queue straight away.

  6. Review titled Great New Automated Call Back System

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 16 April 2024

Seeking to request a call back from a medical professional, my call went quickly to automated message, giving me my place in the queue and saying my place in the queue would be held and I could ring off and would get a call. Just a few minutes later I was called and I explained the nature of my condition.

My appointment was great today, started from 16th in the queue which quickly went down quickly. Was seen on time and the Doctor was very kind. Prescription sent to the Pharmacy. Happy days. I know you get a bad wrap sometimes, so thank you from me

  8. Review titled How do you ever get an appointment

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 19 February 2024

My parents registered at this practice in the 1950, I myself have been registered here since birth 60 years ago. This used to be an outstanding practice but not now. It’s impossible to get an appointment as a family we very rarely call the GP but my husband has had a cough for 4 weeks and the national tv ad says he needs to see a GP he called today and the recorded message said the surgery had reached it capacity at 8.20am. The surgery does not offer advanced appointments so it’s a case of taking time off from work to call, then to be told to call back again tomorrow so more time off work. I know for a fact that other surgeries off a better service. I feel extremely said to say that what was once a caring family practice has become a shambles. My advice to anyone thinking of registering here not to bother. I wonder how the elderly and vulnerable ever get manage to navigate the system which is frankly crackers.

  9. Review titled Terrible

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 21 February 2024

I have been unable to book a doctors appointment for a considerable time and I cannot get through on the phone. They have a one hour spot from 8.30am until 9.30am for appointments for two surgeries. When I eventually get an answer the automated response tells me that all appointments have been allocated. I had been coughing continuously for two months. I eventually phone the emergency number to be told I was not urgent. I called at the surgery and was given a phone appointment in a month. I required a blood test every six months. I have not had one since the start of covid.

  10. Review titled How do they get away with it!

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 24 January 2024

Awful experience trying to get through and this has happened the last 3x I have tried to get an appt in the last 12 months. I am not a repeat caller at all. I have spent 2 mornings trying to get through for an appt for my son. The voice message today from 8am-9.08am was repeatedly telling me that the caller was on another line. I’m not even sure they had their phones switched on?? At 9.08am I managed to get into the queue as caller no4. When I got through to a receptionist she told me there were no appts and to call back tomorrow. I asked her how she would know that I wouldn’t have the same experience again but she said she couldn't say. I’d been trying for 2 days already. I said I knew it was a gp my son needed to see and I knew UTC or a&e couldn’t help me but all she suggested was to call back tomorrow or come to the surgery at 8am. When I stated I start work at 8am tomorrow and had children to get to school and I couldn’t do that, she had no other options for me. If you ever manage to get to see a gp they are lovely but the receptionists are always either rude, dismissive or really unhelpful. She didn’t know why the voice message that had been playing since 8am was playing and what it even meant and she definitely didn’t manage to help me. She didn’t even ask what the problem with my son was. Just kept repeating the same unhelpful advice. Trying to juggle a busy morning with trying to get a gp appt these days is just the most stressful thing. The advice given can be so impractical and the receptionists just don’t want to be helpful.
