My son and I have been struggling with many health issues. Like many struggling with appointments and other aspects I spoke with fear to the reception staff and each one had amazing empathy and compassion, due to their ability to communication and understanding we have speedily started treatment which has had a significant and positive impact on our lives and belief there is a better future for us both. I can’t thank the reception staff enough, two staff with the names beginning with A and one particular with E have been a god send ! I’m sure they know who they are. Thank you, your actions are amazing and your efficiency has given us the support from the Gp’s. You are all amazing in the practice and I would highly recommend anyone to the surgery. Eternally greatful to the reception team and GP’s.

The on call Paramedic to see me after work and checked my lump out in my rib cage and put me at ease and discussed potential how I had damaged my ribs and the best way to help get better, we also discussed stress and what I’ve been through this year and she offered the NHS Help lines, I would like to say there was no rushing or trying to get me out the door, very nice bed side manner 👍

Recently attended for a sensitive issue. The staff were friendly and welcoming and conducted themselves professionally. Was very happy to be in and order quickly and was able to get in ahead of my appointment time.

Called to find out why someone had changed my address without my knowledge as I had not moved house. The receptionist was so very rude and condensing and argumentative. I had to put a formal complaint in for her behaviour. I am in the process to move to a different doctors

After trying for a week on phone. Trying make appointment always told none available. Went to practice for opening told all appointments gone???. Got a phone call off doctor n.shill . Got to see her at hospital. she was fantastic very helpful And put my mind at rest

I am sorry you had such difficulty in obtaining an appointment which must have been really frustrating. Thank you for your perseverance. We continue to work hard to improve access. You describe being dealt with via our Acute Service where patients with urgent medical needs can receive a triage call from a clinician and brought down to be seen if needed. Dear Rachael. Thank you for your review. I am delighted that you found our service quick and effective. We certainly aim to be able to meet all need for urgent medical attention on an on the day basis though there will still be some times when our service is at maximum capacity- especially Mondays through the winter period and days after bank holidays. We would ask patients with non-urgent problems to try to avoid wanting to be seen on days of predictable high demand wherever possible in order that we can meet the needs of our patients with urgent medical problems. After a telephone appointment today I want to thank the Doctor who listened and discussed my ideas and suggestions and reassured me with her support and encouragement. She made me feel happy with decisions made and has agreed to continuing monitoring and if I need more help to contact for an appointment.

Second or third time I have took my 84 year old Mother to see this GP . I cannot commend her enough. She was patient understanding and empathic and provided options for my lovely Mam in these difficult times /years. Thank you Dr L

Got a condition with left thumb that may require surgery, told to keep ringing at 08:00 every morning to try and get an appointment, told that my GP ( never knew I had one ) does not do appointments for days or weeks in advance, meanwhile I can call in at anytime to have my blood pressure checked, but no joy for an actual physical ailment that is happening now. Maybe I'll hit on lucky on one morning at 08:00 who knows.

Dear Geoff. Thank you for your feedback. Our policy is not to release appointments more than 2-3 days before they happen as otherwise our 'did not attend' rate goes right up which makes it even harder for patients to get an appointment. Your problem is a good example of something which our reception staff should have signposted as being more appropriate for an orthopaedic practitioner rather than a GP. Our reception staff are able to book patients directly into face to face or telephone appointments with them. I will feedback your experience to our reception supervisors so they can ensure all our receptionists are aware. An alternative option for patients with musculoskeletal problems is to self-refer directly to the Northumberland JMAPS service by calling 03301 244 652. Regards, Dr A van den Bos. GP partner
