  2. Review titled A very quick response

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I had a reason to make a medical appointment to be seen by a doctor using the new online booking system. Without saying what my issue was, I attached a photo of the problem and had a call back just over 1 hour later. The doctor explained a few things and told me he was basically fast tracking me to sdh for investigation. I must say, I am very impressed indeed with this new system. It was very swift and slick indeed. Also, may I add, a good picture (if possible if the issue can be seen) is helpful. An excellent experience - the system does work.

  3. Review titled Great practice

Rated 5 stars out of 5

i went with my husband and we easily parked in a disabled bay right by the entrance. We were greeted by a member of staff and directed to wait. Within a minute we were shown into the vaccination room. There we met two very friendly members of staff and received our vaccinations. The visit to the practice was probably around ten minutes in total. This was helpful for my husband who cannot stand for long.

  5. Review titled Best practice in Salisbury

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Both my husband and I have been new patients since the spring of 2023 and have had numerous medical problems since. We have found the staff, clinical staff and the doctors extremely polite and helpful and feel very lucky to have this practice so accessible.

  6. Review titled Very grateful.

My husband and I, and our sons, have been patients at Salisbury Medical Practice since it’s been opened. Actually, since 2005 - as part of the old New Street Surgery. We have always been met with utmost respect, support and kindness - by everyone involved. From the front desk staff to all the medical staff. All of them have always been kind and caring. We always feel listened to and our medical needs have always been met. We simply cannot fault anyone. Absolutely anyone. We, as a very busy family, one family that’s prone to everything that comes with having busy boys, feel valued and cared for. Thank you all for all your hard work, care, dedication and love. You’re all absolutely F amazing!

Receptionists are rude, disrespectful and disorganised. How this place is still running is beyond me. Shameful example of an nhs GP

  8. Review titled How do you get an appointment

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 13 March 2023

I called to make an appointment and I am on hold for 30 mins to be told no appointments left. I asked to book One for any day or the week after and the answer is no appointments and to call another day. This is not possible for people working full time. How many people are going undiagnosed of potentially serious conditions because of this surgery?

On the day demand is very high currently. Our same day/urgent lists open at 8am for the morning list and 1pm for the afternoon list. These are for new (acute) conditions that need to be discussed clinically. To book routine face to face or telephone appointments or speak to a member of our Patient Contact Team, other times of the day are quieter on the telephones. Please email bswicb.smp@nhs.net if you would like to discuss further. Kind regards, SMP

  9. Review titled Are they fit for purpose?

Rated 1 star out of 5

No appointments available. Call back tomorrow after 10am. Hope to have some more released by then but can't promise anything". My family has used this practice since it opened. It used to be very good. Now there is almost zero service. It's very sad and frustrating. Question - what services are you offering? I note that you are still accepting new patient registrations. Why?

Our same day/urgent telephone appointments are released at 8am for the morning list and 1pm for the afternoon list. These are for a new (acute) conditions. Routine face to face and telephone appointments are released throughout the day at different times (automatically by the computer system). We are currently looking at different ways to reduce telephone demand and have started to offer many Nurse appointments bookable online, via an invitation to book. We are also planning to introduce GP face to face appointments bookable online soon. New patient registrations must be accepted as part of our GMS contract, we cannot close our lists. If you would like to discuss this further, please email us - bswicb.smp@nhs.net with your name and date of birth. Kind regards, SMP

  10. Review titled Telephone Availability

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 02 November 2022

I waited 27 mins today on the telephone where I was number 15 in the queue, waiting to cancel an appointment. I wonder how many people just wouldn't bother and an appointment would be wasted? More options to do these simple administrative tasks online would be good, or more staff answering the phone please.

Thank you for your comments - when you telephone the practice you would have heard nine different options. The only option that tells you what position you are in the queue is the option to speak to our Patient Contact Team. However, you would have heard an option before this to cancel your appointment. This gets you straight through to a voicemail with no waiting time. We look forward to you using this option in the future. Kind regards, SMP
