Review titled Fit Note / Sick Note procedure

My partner has just used this service for the second time. My comments are as follows: 1. Throughout the process there is no apparent warning of any time constraints over when the Fit Note application can be made (i.e., within 1 day of an existing fit note expiry) and having filled it in and submitted it you only find out in a text submission from the surgery, leaving you with repeating the process at a later date. I would suggest that an emboldened warning with an alarm symbol be prominent at the beginning of the dialog. 2. The first screen in the dialog asks for a summary into which you can enter 600 char. You enter your summary only to find that the next screen prompts for specifics about your condition, return to work and dates which you have already probably entered in the summary. I would suggest that the summary be dismissed and that all details are requested through the specific questions. 3. There is a toggling of the terms Fit Note and Sick Note through the dialog. I would suggest that you remain consistent throughout. 4. Having submitted your note, you are then told, by text, that the next fit note will not be issued until late in the day after the last one expired. Hence, it may be refused and you potentially lose a day's pay and are left stressed and anxious over your employer's reaction. I would suggest that an earlier submission be allowed if the process cannot be completed prior to a Fit Note expiry. 5. It feels like the dialog and process assumes a cognitive and angst-free individual is entering data and receiving notifications which they cannot directly respond to. I would suggest that an individual requesting a fit note is neither of those things and requires a service that satisfies their requirements as well as the GP surgery.

Today I had my smear test, I get quite anxious about them, there was a medical emergency before my appointment and the receptionist advised there would be a wait (I could re book if I wanted) I waited, they kept all patients fully up to date. I was impressed with the screen to give the patient privacy during the emergency too. Y then carried out my smear test, she was professional, calming and reassuring. It was the most comfortable smear I have ever had. She was incredible. Thank you.

I would just like to say how good the online contact is. It’s very inclusive and easy to navigate. The response is very prompt either via the receptionist to make an appointment or direct contact from a gp for a telephone appointment when a physical one is not necessary. The response is speedy so you’re not left hanging around wondering what to do. The responses are efficient, effective and polite.

I had a telephone appointment with a really lovely Dr today. She was so kind & caring & made me feel valued. She listened to my current health concerns & gave me so much information & has arranged for some tests to be carried out. I really appreciate her kindness.

Emailed re wife dementia on Tuesday evening. No response. Forwarded email the following Monday with read receipt. Email was read. Then had a response that it would be dealt with soon. Daughter contacted the practice Thursday & told it was on the doctors list for Friday. Still no response. Not even a "we're dealing with it". Best part of 2 weeks & nothing from the practice. Does anyone there give a damn?

On line system was really easy to use and I had a face to face consultation later that day with a professional, friendly and knowledgable Nurse Practitioner who was able to assess, diagnose and precribe for me. I am always so impressed with this GP Practice.

Over the last 4 months of trying to book a vaccine for shingles At the age of 72 nothing no communication about when or why my wife were missed or not included

Thank you for your review, I apologies you have had difficulties making a shingles vaccine appointment. Our team have been very busy focusing on MMR vaccines due to the high rise in recent measles and mumps cases in the area and also ensuring all influenza vaccines are completed to give the maximum protection. We, of course have not forgotten about shingles vaccines we do clinics with appointments available please contact the practice to book your shingles vaccine.
