Review titled Unacceptable wait for urgent care
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 09 November 2024
Referred via 111 for urgent medical care Called to obtain appointment. Informed over one hour wait for triage/care. Waited outside. Relocated to find somewhere inside, warm with refreshments whilst waiting. Due to worsening symptoms had to seek alternative care. Called from clinic came four hours later. Advised that had had to be seen elsewhere due to medical need. Little empathy. Would not recommend

Review titled Brilliant doctor
Rated 5 stars out of 5

Last night I contacted 111 to talk about some worrying early pregnancy-related symptoms. They told me a clinician would call me back within two hours, but I got a call back very quickly from a doctor who assessed me and very calmly asked me to come to the practice while assuring me he didn't feel there was anything to worry about, but he would assess me in person just to be sure. Within 45 minutes I was seen by him in person, assessed thoroughly and given all the reassurance I needed that everything was fine. He even made me laugh and really put my mind at ease. He is a credit to the practice and I'm so grateful for his fast, friendly and professional care. Thank you!

After not being able to be seen by my doctors, I phoned the practice left some details and had a doctor call me back withing 15minutes. I was offered an appointment within the hour. The doctor who saw me was extremely attentive and professional, his bedside manner was a credit to the practice. He was very thorough and his advise was clear . The receptionist was very approachable and exchanged conversation pleasantly. Thankyou all for making my visit a pleasant one.

Review titled Fantastic GP and excellent process
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Ann - Posted on 04 August 2024
Well organised system and excellent/ caring GP. We called 111 and they contacted the Katie Rd Urgent Care Treatment Centre for an appointment, the GP then called me quickly and booked an appointment for 15 minutes later. It was reassuring to see the GP for advice, receive injection for tetanus and prescription for antibiotics urgently. Checked potential interactions with other medications very thoroughly and reviewed medical history. Provided information about pharmacies open on a Sunday evening. Very impressed both with system to get the appointment and the GP when we got there.

Review titled Absolutely terrible
Rated 1 star out of 5

I called and registered for a call back from a Doctor at 12.21 this afternoon the time the Doctor called me was 19.02. I expect that I have to wait and thought upto 4 hours is the average but going on for 7 hours is abysmal. The service is a total disgrace no care or compassion how can they treat people so appallingly.

I attended the Urgent Care centre today as I could not get an appointment at my local GP and was so impressed. The doctor was very kind and approachable. The consultation was very thorough and the doctor explained why he was asking each question. Thank you!

We are visiting Birmingham over half term and the local practice wasn't able to see my son. The doctor at South Birmingham Urgent Treatment Centre was really excellent - really thorough and kind - as was the service. Thanks!

Review titled Ignorance and confusion
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Rosemarie Hayward - Posted on 16 July 2023
My sons beautiful bichon frise got fox mange from rolling in fox poo. My son and I both got scabies as a result of this. On Thursday I had a lovely consultation with a Doctor who prescribed medication for me. The pharmacy could not download the prescription and did not have the treatment in stock. I called again and asked for the prescription to be forwarded to a pharmacy that would order the medication in for Friday morning. I called the pharmacy on Friday and they told me that they could not issue the medication because the 'signature was invalid' I therefore had to reorder the prescription. On Friday afternoon I spoke to an ignorant receptionist, who judged me by her tone, did not pass on the message and went home after her shift ended without attempting to help me. I think this person would benefit from further training in communication with customers. She made me feel as disgusting as her behaviour when she spat the word 'scabies' at me in the telephone!! The receptionist who came in for the evening shift was lovely and helped me straight away and I managed to get some of the treatment, just before the pharmacy closed. I was given different advise by this Doctor on how to use the treatment and was not prescribed enough this time. Called again on Saturday and finally got enough medication from a lovely Doctor. There are good and bad people in this world, be one of the good ones. Leave your own problems at the door when you go to work and be kind when dealing with people. Thank you
