    The nurse was skilful and assuring. I did not wait long at the practice and they are generally quite helpful.

    Found the surgery good today from booking in at reception polite young lady to only waiting few minutes in waiting room then nurse come out and called me in was very quick very polite and friendly lady took my blood pressure and weight and height asked a few questions a very quick and friendly appointment.

    Glad to hear of your good experience at the surgery. We do aim to do our best but sometimes it is not always possible to be on time with the appointments especially if we get an emergency and the doctor has to arrange an ambulance to take the patient to A&E.     I had a flu jab appointment, I was seen promptly by the nurse, she was very friendly and professional, I hardly felt the injection. Also she did some checks relevant to my diabetes condition. All the staff were very friendly and welcoming. Thank you St James practice 🙂

    The (Irish) nurse who works at the practise is outstanding. She has been with the practise at least 12 years to my knowledge, she is an excellent professional and a credit to her profession.

    Been this morning for a steroid injection, this doctor not been at the practise long, the care he gives is brilliant. Always pleasant and polite, does his best to help you. I wish I could put his name as he deserves the credit, I'm lucky to have him as my doctor, and the practise is lucky to have such brilliance in care.

    The ‘could do differently’ aspect: I experienced a 45 minute long wait on the phone on two separate occasions getting to speak to someone to book an appointment for a cervical screening procedure with the nurse following a letter advising me to call in not book online. After that wait the first time I was told to call back in over a week’s time when the nurse’s diary would have slots to book; the reason for this wasn’t explained. The ‘really positive’ aspect: However on the second occasion when I did get through a different individual, I think possibly the clinic manager, was helpful in not only organising a next day appointment but also giving me supportive information on my other queries and concerns regarding Covid booster, blood pressure and a flu vaccine. She also suggested I ask for her on arrival the next day so she could potentially get me seen by another nurse for the latter two as well as the booked screening appointment. And today exactly that happened so I was able to resolve three procedures in the one visit. I rarely visit my GP and this was certainly one of my more positive experiences in terms of considerate patient care. It surely helps the clinic’s scheduling, as well as the patient, to try to resolve concerns in this proactive way. I came away feeling well supported by my GP practice as we would all like to be all of the time as patients.

    Thank you for your comments, sorry you had to wait so long on the phone, we have been short of staff recently due to sickness and covid 19, however I am glad my Clinical Manager was able to help you out. Sometimes the nurse appointments get booked up straight away especially if there is a campaign scheduled such as a Flu clinic or Polio vaccination catch up, but I'm glad we were able to help in the end.     Was told I need to go buy mask as its required in the building, not a problem so went and bought then returned, walked in to waiting room to find only one person wearing a mask, now that takes the mickey out of me.

    Thank you for your comments, I am sorry to hear about your experience, we do ask all the patients to wear masks so I'm not sure why those in the waiting room were not wearing one unless they were exempt. I will mention it to the staff to keep a look out for anyone not wearing one. Thank you for bringing this to my attention. Practice Manager

    I tried to complete an econsult at 16.30pm and received a message that I must try again at 8.00am tomorrow, however the practice is open until 18.00pm today. This appointment system is not suitable for people who work full-time, the alternatives, to visit or call the practice, are less suitable. Please allow people to complete an econsult during practice opening hours

    Thank you for your feedback. We normally turn off e-consult around 4pm which gives the staff the opportunity to book in for the next day. If you find the e-consult turned off at any time you can call the surgery or walk in and we will use the same system to book appointments for patients. We are looking to improve the on- line consultation and the appointment system. Any new changes we will inform our patients via the newsletter on our Website. Thank you Practice Manager
