Review titled Went out of their way
Rated 5 stars out of 5

The administrator went out of the way in an urgent situation to try to help and kept in regular contact over the phone. She was extremely helpful and was able to resolve my problem

I have had a few telephone interactions with the practice reception team after my daughter was born the last few weeks and they are always very helpful, patient and informative. Much appreciated - thank you!

Review titled Great service
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Mary - Posted on 03 October 2024
I left a message on accurx in the morning, and got an in person appointment in the afternoon. Thorough examination, resulting in referrals for MRI and blood test. Both done within a week. The practice phlebotomist who took the blood was the best, I didn't feel a thing. Follow up phone calls with the results, and an appointment made with a specialist. Well done all round!

Review titled Phones

Why am I left 2 in a queue for 15mins? I think it is totally unreasonable and I wouldn't be calling if I could get an answer to my econsult.

Review titled Phones and getting an appointment
Rated 2 stars out of 5
by Alison Brown - Posted on 29 August 2024
There is alway a long wait on the phones, I was number one in the queue for over 30 minutes? Why. You have to complete an e-consult, the last I had to wait 5 days to see my doctor? Not very good patient care.

Review titled Feeling lucky
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Paul Cullinan - Posted on 27 June 2024
I am extremely fortunate to be a patient at St Stephen’s. I have no idea how, but everyone there - the receptionists in particular - manages always to be be courteous, responsive and amazingly efficient. Today was no exception: an appointment within an hour of me requesting; seen bang on time by a thorough doctor who explained everything and a call from the pharmacy letting me know my prescription was waiting, before I got home. Thank you enormously

Call to book appointment for my daughter but experienced very rude receptionist. Ask her to repeat about how to book appt online but got very unpolite answer all because she said she already mentioned it before. Would never recommend this practice to anyone I know

Review titled E consult
Rated 3 stars out of 5

Unless you can login first thing in the morning it is now impossible to do an econsult. I appreciate that the doctors are working hard but could there be some slow release of these slots across a day. I've been trying to get on in time for days.

Review titled Getting an appointment is a nightmare!
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Wilma - Posted on 07 December 2023
On Wednesday 29th November I telephoned the surgery to make an appt and after a long wait for the phone to be answered I was advised that I couldn’t make an appointment over the phone and had to use the online support facility which wouldn’t be available to use until the next day and was advised to get on line early (8 am). I did this on Thursday 30th November and outlined my symptoms etc., and @ 9.22 am that day I received a text from one of the GPs to say that an appt would be made and one of the admin team would be in touch. I hadn’t hear anything so phoned the surgery on Friday 1st December and was advised that they would chase the admin team. I asked why it wasn’t possible to book an appt now on the phone and was advised that they were a receptionist and only admin people could book appts. I did not hear anything and chased again on Monday 4th December and once again as usual I waited a long time for the phone to be answered (usually about 40 minutes). When I got through and explained why I was calling the person asked ‘shall I book an appt for you now? My complaint is this : why couldn't an appt have been booked when I first contacted the surgery near 6 days ago and spoke to a receptionist? The process appears to be applied on the whim of the receptionist and my experience of this surgery on this occasion (& many times in the past) is that the procedures are in place for the benefit of the practice and patients are treated as a nuisance. We deserve an efficient service and this practice is anything but efficient.
