Review titled Olympic Performance

My telephone request for a GP answered in a very timely manner by an understanding and sympathetic receptionist. She sent me an e consult form that I immediately submitted. Within the hour I was contacted by my GP. I had been ill for a week taking over the counter medication. We spoke at length and I outlined my symptoms. He prescribed medication which my wife went to collect from the pharmacy later the same day. So in less than one day I have had a consultation with my GP and received medication. Well done to the whole Practice , from a quickly answered telephone call, to the very pleasant and understanding receptionist , GP and medication within a day. I am now feeling so much better. I would recommend.

Review titled Amazing practice
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Rosemary Ayub - Posted on 15 July 2024
I have only been with this practice for 1 year but at every point I have either had an appointment or needed advice they have been quick to respond. I recently saw a nurse for travel advice and vaccinations. She was amazing and took time to go through everything and gave me lots of advice as well as responding to something else I was worried about. A few days later I saw a Dr and she put my mind at rest, explained everything and made a referral to a clinic. I am so impressed with everyone I come into contact with at the surgery. Thank you for everything you do.

Review titled Putting patients first
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Louis - Posted on 27 June 2024
I can in circa 6pm as my repeat perscription request hadn’t been issued. The Dr had a brief unscheduled appointment with me and discussed my health. It was really pleasing to see a doctor putting their patient first. Thank you!

Had a really positive consultation with a GP, after some worrying symptoms. The GP was thorough and took the time to listen, explain things fully and answer any questions.

Went with painfull hips, could hardly put weight on them. Dr asked how it was when started, 3 days previously, lie down do this do that. Go home take cocodamol make appointment with physio. Physio still 3 weeks away, chemist said get prescription from doctors. Have to make another appointment phone at 8.00am. Will not pre book appointments, go to a walk in centre. Had several appointments cancelled in past 2 years. Feel like this particular Dr wanted rid of me. Have been with them 20 years or more am 66 years old math NI all my life now I am to old to be bothered about. Changing surgery had enough.

Review titled Patients unable to contribute to care and treatment
Rated 2 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 16 April 2024
The practice uses an online system for appointments - I actually really like this, as it allows all patients to have their issues considered by a GP, and not a ‘first come, first serve’ like the usual call at 08:00. The issue I have, is that the online system doesn’t allow patients to be involved in deciding their care and treatment. This has happened to me twice now, where a doctor has responded stating they will prescribe X and they do not allow patients to reply to this. This removes all patient choice in the care they receive (they actually prescribed me a medication I’m unable to have, and I had to start a new online request to inform them they would have to send a new prescription to the pharmacy). I like the online system, but it should allow for people to ask questions about different options, understand side effects and collaborate with their GP about the best course of treatment for them, rather than just having to accept what the GP has said. It seems in reality the system is being used to get rid of people as quick as possible.

Review titled Repeat Prescription Process
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Graham - Posted on 26 February 2024
I ordered 2 items on repeat prescription using the surgery Web site as usual. When I went to collect these from the pharmacy, they only had a prescription for one of the items. I then visited the surgery to find out why my requested prescription had not been issued. The receptionist would not let me explain what my problem was but was just insisting I book a blood test before the prescription could be issued. I asked why I wasn't informed this was the case before I visited the pharmacy to find there was an issue. Her response was "I don't know." I accept she probably didn't know but she also wasn't interested and didn't care. Didn't care if it happens again. Didn't care if it happens to anyone else. Something in the process failed and needs to be made more robust to avoid further frustration amongst patients. I booked my blood test there and then and a prescription was issued. This is not the first time this has happened to me hence this review. Hope it helps.
