by John McLaverty - Posted on 05 March 2025
I had an annual medication review this morning. The clinical pharmacist was very throrough, answered all my questions and followed up individually on each medication I'm on. Often medical appointments feel rushed, but this certainly wasn't the case this morning. Thank you

Following so many avoidable issues with re prescriptions and items being removed from our lists, we finally got to deal withWahb who has gone above and beyond to resolve other colleagues mistakes. We are most grateful toWahb and only wish we could always get through to him when we have issues (which unfortunately has now become the norm) he is a real credit to th surgery

Review titled With a BMI of 44 I do not have the body of an athlete
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Suzanne Leveson - Posted on 09 February 2025
Two GPs have insisted I am "very fit" and have a heart rate better than that of an elite athlete when it drops as recently low as 46bpm. They've diagnosed I have "health anxiety++". Despite recording this, they did not make a referral for talking therapy nor offer medication. I have not ever been offered a referral to a dietician nor advice service on the management of my diabetes in the entire 5 years since my diagnosis. When I asked about weight loss drugs I was told to buy them myself, despite my BMI and other health conditions. The GPs do not listen when I say my extremely low heart rate is not normal for me, they gaslight me and say I am fit. I would have to be more than half my age for my heart rate to be appropriate for an athlete. Luckily I took the blood pressure monitor that the surgery had insisted that I buy I because the GP couldn't work the one in the surgery.

I had an appointment with the pharmacist at the surgery. I suffer with severe anxiety and panic attacks. He was very understanding and made me feel relaxed. He listened to what I was saying, and understood my fears. We went through my medication and got it sorted. Was very happy with my appointment.

I saw nurse and GP both took time to understand my acute health condition and current issue. He listened and took appropriate next steps. He ordered an MRI and went further to order blood tests.

Review titled Appalling reception staff
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 04 December 2024
This week alone I have had four contacts with the surgery. On Monday I called because the blood pressure monitor the doctor had told me I had to buy earlier in the year (the surgery has none to loan) was giving a heart rate of 50. The surgery said there were no the appointments and to call 111. 111 said I needed to speak to a doctor. The receptionist again said no appointments. I spoke to a 111 doctor who said I needed to see a doctor within two days as did the econsult reply from the surgery. The next day the receptionist called and said I could only have an appointment with a physicians assistant the next day and they said this is what the doctor said to them. The reception then called again and said I needed a medication review. I asked why and they were very rude, interrupted me and shouted at me. When I said I was going to end the call as they were abusing me they then shouted at me that I was shouting at them and that's why they were ending the call. Bullying patients does seem to be how the reception goes about it's business and I think the much lower rates Google reviews for this practice are a more reliable reflection of people's experiences.

Dear Patient, Thank you for providing feedback about the service your received from our reception staff. I am disappointed that you were treated poorly and referred to contact NHS 111 and complete an eConsult regarding obtaining a BP machine. This is not the right process. The receptionist is correct about us not having BP Machines to loan out. We have loaned out more than 43 BP machines to patients, we have contacted the patients to return the loaned BP machines, but these patients have failed to return them. This is the reason why we are not able to loan you a BP machine. Most local pharmacies provide reasonably priced BP machines or you can obtain one on Amazon. Please note that our Physician Associates are clinicians who are trained to deal with a lot of clinical conditions. The Physician Associates are healthcare professional who work under the supervision of a senior doctor and can assess, diagnose, and treat patients within certain limits. Physician Associates don't prescribe medication or request X-rays. With regards to conditions such as heart rates and BP the Physician Associates can deal with these conditions. Your feedback will be shared with our staff, especially the reception staff for the purpose of training and learning. I appreciate you taking the time to provide detailed feedback about the service our reception staff are providing. Kind Regards Patricia Idusogie Practice Manager.
