Having an appointment with a nurse for a spirometry test which i was unable to complete , the nurse did further tests . They then advised I see a Gp which they arranged and I was in the GPS office within 5mins . The Gp reassured me explained what may be happening, and arranged for an xray , I was told to ring the surgery if I continued to feel unwell or got worse. I feel I have had outstanding service from this surgery

I needed an abscess on my back lanced but was told that this is not something done by NHS any more. I was gven antibiotics and informed that I could be referred for minor surgery to prevent the abscess from re-occurring. However when I returned to the surgery for a follow-up, I was informed that referral was no longer available and if I needed this addressed I would have to go private. I asked where would I find somewhere to do this privately and I was told to "Google it". This was hugely disappointing, particularly as a search of the NHS website shows treatment of abscesses as requiring draining and/or minor surgery (see St Thomas's treatment suggestion). I'm afraid this is yet another ailment that is no longer treated by the NHS. I fear that in the future it will become a life saving service, with everything else done privately.

Dear John Thank you for your feedback. Sadly some services are no longer funded by the NHS, which is very disappointing, although I understand emergency drainage is and a GP can refer on to secondary care for this to be done. Well organised from start to finish. Didn't wait more than five minutes from entering the surgery to leaving. Needles that fine you do not feel it.

Had a spirometry test with the specialist sister, she was very efficient and helpful. Everything was explained to me very carefully about how to do the puff tests and she explained the results very well and told me what would happen in the future.

Arrived a little early but once I was registered called straight queried what blood test I was having nurse said something different I explained what I had been told so took several different tests to cover everything

Arrived for blood test at 7-50 am 10/9 and the nurse also very kindly dressed a wound I had sustained on the previous day

I had a reasonable wait to be seen. Felt Doctor listen to the problems I'm having and I didn't feel rushed. The remedy that was suggested seems to be working. So overall happy.

The practice states to use e-consult forms for routine appointments between 8 am - 3 pm but often this service is not available and when trying to use it says your practice is not accepting e-consult forms today try again tomorrow at 8 am. We all lead busy lives and it is extremely annoying to have to keep trying. I have tried several times to complete the form and have not be able to. Since covid the practice seems to have made it very hard to get appointments.

We try to keep the e-consult system on line for as long as possible during the day but sometimes when demand is too high we have to limit access for patient safety reasons, however if your clinical need is urgent and cannot wait for a routine appointment then please contact the reception to get added to their list.
