  1. Review titled Very helpful excellence

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 03 April 2025

I completed an online form this morning to request an appointment. I didn't expect to hear immediately but a text came very quickly offering me a same day appointment. The doctor had a lovely manner, asked lots of questions and listened to me. He suggested some scans and I was able to get a blood test with the practice nurse the same day. The gentleman on reception was also very helpful. Thank you to everyone for their help today.

  2. Review titled They misdiagnosed me

Rated 1 star out of 5

by John - Posted on 05 April 2025

I had a consultation and the GP at Studholme completely misdiagnosed me and I became very unwell and had to go to hospital with an ambulance for emergency care. Studholme Medical Centre need to listen more and be more careful because your misdiagnosis made me very unwell and I think you have some learning to do on the importance of listening properly to patients, keeping your knowledge updated and perhaps changing your attitude and conduct away from being uncaring and towards being kind.

  3. Review titled Online Appointment Request

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 04 April 2025

I used the online request for a face to face appointment with a Doctor who advised me previously that a NHS Hospital dept had given advice on an issue I have. The appointment was made promptly & I received a notification of the date and time. The system fits my needs and I would recommend using it, instead of waiting in a queue on the telephone unless immediate action is required.

  4. Review titled No longer offer face to face GP appointments

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 09 April 2025

It’s very difficult to get an appointment. It took over 7 weeks to get an appointment and they refuse to give you a face-to-face appointment and only a telephone appointment with a nurse. Why can’t patients see a GP at Studholme anymore? The receptionist team don’t answer the phone.

The best way to request an appointment is via the appointment section of our website. For routine appointments the current waiting time is 2 to 3 weeks depending which GP you would like to see.

  5. Review titled Infection control

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 09 April 2025

During my appointment today for a wound review the nurse didn’t wear gloves or wash her hands and she touched my open wound. I also noticed there was fungal mould on the wall, ants crawling the floor and lots of flies in the room. I could get a wound infection. Please understand the importance of infection prevention and control and hygiene.

  6. Review titled Prostate cancer

Rated 1 star out of 5

I am male and your patient an I am thinking a lot about prostate cancer because I wee a lot at night time and my stream and flow isn’t good. When I saw the GP she said she doesn’t examine “men’s bits” and that I need to book an appointment with a male GP to “have my bits examined ”. I didn’t know that it was NHS policy for women GP not to examine men.

Thank you for your review. It is more appropriate for a male patient having an intimate examination for that to be conducted by a male clinician. That is a very understandable and fair request. Please contact if like us to help further.

  7. Review titled Simply the best

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 05 April 2025

I went for ear suction this week and I was put at ease straight away. The doctor and nurse were both very professional, explaining everything and not rushing me when I asked questions. The small procedure was pain free and everything was checked and explained as they went along, which is so important. Very impressed with this practice. Punctual appointment, clean room etc. Very grateful

  8. Review titled Grade E - must do better

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 20 April 2025

I’m a patient at Studholme and I recently consulted my GP. It took over 9 weeks to get an appointment. It was a telephone appointment and I was told that they no longer offer face to face appointments anymore. When I queried this the Practice Manager said the Conservative Party wouldn’t fund his Practice hence there is a 9 week wait for a telephone appointment. I mentioned this could lead to delayed diagnosis and he had absolutely no interest in what I was saying. It’s clear Studholme just wants lots of money from NHS England but doesn’t want to deliver care because that’s an expense against the Partners profit margin. How is this allowed and why isn’t something being done about this?

Thank you for your review. Current wait time for routine appointments is 2 to 3 weeks depending on which clinician you would like to see. Approx 75% of all our appts are face to face appts. We are not sure why you mention the Conservative party as our practice manage has not spoken to you. 9. Review titled Appointment

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Ron Bevan - Posted on 03 April 2025

Used the online form to boos a blood test. The form is somewhat confusing and didn’t seem to cater for what I was attempting to do, but I entered all relevant details anyway and within about half an hour I received a text with a suitable appointment.

  10. Review titled Prescription medication

Rated 1 star out of 5

I had a heart attack and after the stent was put in my coronary artery my cardiologist said I must be on a blood thinner called Ticagrelor for 1 year or the stent will block but the GP in Studholme refuses to prescribe the Ticagrelor and will only give me a cheaper alternative which my cardiologist says is not good because my stent will block and I’d get another heart attack. When I told the GP she told me to find a private GP and pay them to prescribe ten Ticagrelor because it’s too expensive for her practice to prescribe. I do t think the NHS lets GPs behave like this?

Thank you for your review. Ticagrelor can only be initiated and prescribed by a specialist and this cannot be initiated by a GP. It is disappointing to hear that the Cardiologist was not aware of this and has not helped you. It is nothing to do with cost at all as this is funded by the NHS Please do contact your cardiologist as they can prescribe this for you.
