Review titled Take a long time to issue routine appointments
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 30 October 2024
I completed a askmygp on 21st October and 23rd October. Despite two further telephone calls to chase these requests up, I did not receive a response until 30th October. I did say on both occasions on askmygp, I was available anytime when asked, but despite this, staff from the GP practice still called me and offered me, the earliest appointment which was a further week of 5th November 2024. It has taken 15 days (this includes the weekends) to have an appointment with a gp. Not impressed

Review titled Confusing signage
Rated 2 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 09 October 2024
Why is the man sitting on ‘main reception’ just a security guard with no inclination or ability to help anyone when they walk in? I had to go to four different desks (the lady behind the green one told me that ‘main reception’ is just a security desk, as if that was obvious) before I landed at the right place because I’d been given no indication where I was supposed to go. It’s great having colour coded desks but pointless if it’s not communicated to patients. Whoever is running this place - how hard can it be, really?

Review titled Terrible wayfinding
Rated 2 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 09 October 2024
On entering the Tessa Jowell centre I found it very difficult to find where I needed to go. So heading to the Main Reception area, there is a sign that says it’s the Main reception I asked the man behind the desk who seemed to not be able to understand what I was asking for. I’m assuming they were a security guard and therefore not really the person who should be sitting behind the desk in Main Reception directing patients to their appointments. He directed me to another reception area, which was the wrong one, they then directed me to a third reception area, who then directed me to the fourth reception area. There are signs everywhere stating that there is no tolerance to aggressive behaviour but having had the experience I’d had, I can imagine many people getting extremely frustrated with staff when the whole place seems disorganised. A clue to this is a barrage of computer printed pieces of A4 stuck to windows and walls all with various messages about where certain areas are and what areas aren’t. Also all reception staff sit behind plastic and anyone who’s hard of hearing must find it impossible to communicate with somebody behind a plastic window. I guess this is a Covid response but it’s incredibly frustrating communicating with someone who you can hardly hear. The whole place needs a clear organised reception, with trained staff who understand patients needs and have basic customer service skills. My visit today showed none of the staff have even a basic understanding of the skills required to do this work. I looked to see if any information had been sent to me about where my appointment was due to take place but I was given the address of the centre and very little else. If I was told at this point to go to the purple zone on the first floor this would have saved a lot of time and frustration. I hope to never have to visit this centre again

Review titled Extremely rude nurse
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 24 September 2024
I briefly encountered a nurse today who was the most needlessly unpleasant person I've ever met. She was instantly hostile for no reason, condescending and generally extremely rude. I cannot be the only person to have had an unpleasant experience with her - she was wearing a headscarf, was working in blood testing and was in number 3.

Review titled Very rude staff
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 09 August 2024
I was checking to see if my blood test results were back and the person I was talking to was extremely rude and condescending. I had to end the call because it was going nowhere. This has to be checked on because this is an important enquiry.

Review titled still not getting it right
Rated 2 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 17 July 2024
has anyone noticed any improvements with the tessa jowell gp practice? I have used the service with more access to the evergreen service, and the telephone service now tells you how many people are in front of you when you call, but unfortunately for me, this service still seems below standard. I went online yesterday morning to request a sick note and gave the reasons why. I received a response at around 11am, to inform me the fit note had been granted and would be emailed. Checked my inbox, and guess what, nothing. Sent a send evergreen request just after 12midnite, again requesting a sick note. I should of submitted the certificate to my line manager yesterday. I wait several hours, still nothing. I make my third contact with the surgery, this time by telephone. I am not asked any data protection details, Im just told the certificate would be sent to me by text and email. At 1:30pm today, the GP decided to reply to my evergreen enquiry to say the enquire was closed as I had received the certificate this morning. A copy of the certificate was included. This is not the sort of experience you need, when your ill. When will services get better in this GP practice? Out of interest, why is the practice not picking up on these comments and using these as a bench mark to make swift improvements?

Review titled Thank You!
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 04 July 2024
I would like to express my gratitude and praise the attitude of the receptionist. I attended the practice to book an appointment. He was really helpful and genuinely kind, took the time to instruct me on how to set up the online Everleaf app, how to use it and how to book future appointments, took my history and prioritised accordingly. As a fellow healthcare professional I felt welcomed and respected and appreciated his empathy and professionalism towards my health concerns.

Review titled Can't say
Rated 2 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 11 September 2024
As a person registered disabled, I find this health centre the worst ever to get appointment see a GP, you have to call 8-8:30am "only half an hour" phone line open Monday - Friday. They don't care about patients who might be computer illiterate and cannot use the service online to make an appointment, online is also open for half an hour in the morning. The receptionist isn't always helpful. This health centre should to be review by the authorities incharge. I find myself neglecting my sickness these later days due to the problem getting to see a GP there.
