Review titled A very good service despite being in such demand
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 08 October 2024
I changed to this doctors in the last couple of years and I’ve been very impressed. Obviously they have extreme patient demands but my personal experience has been 100% positive. Recently I went there with what I thought was a minor issue but they sent me for a blood test which identified cancer. That was the furthest thing from my mind but I’m grateful they helped me and I’ve since had surgery. I say treat as you find but when you stand in the queue and hear how rude some patients can be I do appreciate what they have done for me and have continued to assist me with some minor health issues. All of the doctors I have met have been very supportive and a shining example of what the NHS does offer.

Review titled Very helpful practice
Rated 5 stars out of 5

Pleasant, helpful staff, kind, thorough doctors and nurses. The doctor was attentive and made what could be a worrying experience into a positive one. He offered to explore a surgical procedure to eliminate an ongoing problem if so wanted. He took time to listen to other concerns and offered solutions, relating to social assistance for the elderly. A very interested doctor, which is exactly what the nhs needs.

Last year , I had an appointment that left me far from happy. Last week I an appointment with a really caring and compassionate Dr. She listened. It’s sounds simple, and although she was unable to offer a solution, she made made helpful suggestions and I felt that I was listening to me. She is a real asset to the practice.

Review titled Very helpful nurses
Rated 4 stars out of 5

I have my smear tests carried out here and the nurses are always so lovely. Initially when booking in my latest test the receptionist would not book me in and was questioning why I was trying to book one (despite receiving the letter) but the nurse rang me back later and had no problem booking me in and also apologising for her colleagues on reception. It was that nurse who then dealt with me at the surgery and I cannot thank her enough for her calming and reassuring attitude. Very helpful and answered my questions. Thank you to the nurses

Review titled Obstructive approach to booking appointments
Rated 1 star out of 5
by james evans - Posted on 24 April 2024
For two days I have been attempting to use the econsult portal to enter my health care issue which hopefully then leads to an appointment being booked in order to diagnose my condition. Day one it was closed to futher access as submission limit for the day had been reached. Day two, today at 3pm, it is again closed due to submission limit. This is not a viable service, this is obstructive and restrictive. My condition is not urgent and I would happily take an appointment in a month...but until I am able to submit an econsult I am unable to move forward. This is not acceptable. As health professionals we have a duty of care. As a "retiree returned" after COVID I feel I have and continue to go beyond what might be expected of me. I see no evidence of similar commitment from the Albion Surgery which, frankly and demonstrably, is currently not fit for purpose. As an IT-literate patient I able able to navigate the various portals in order to move forward. Not all patients are in this position. I fear many will simply give up leading to deterioration of their condition and the need for more complex, expensive treatment. I look forward to your practice manager taking steps to improve the situation at Albion Surgery.

Review titled Hit and miss
Rated 2 stars out of 5

Staff are very helpful when facing issues with prescriptions. However their online appointment tool has been shut for days now. I need to book an appointment but can't. I don't have time to wait half an hour on a phone and the practice has no complaints procedure on their website. Incredibly disappointed

Review titled Excellent surgery

What ever the occasion might be I am always treated with respect. Seeing my doctor, doing an econsult, speaking face to face with reception or on the phone. I could not ask this surgery to improve on anything. I appreciate they all have a difficult job to do and praise, needs to be given when it is well deserved. Well done the Albion and thank you.

Review titled Intimidating experience
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 15 November 2023
The two occasions I visited this year were an upsetting, dare I say traumatic, experience with doctors signalling impatience to get through what was worrying me as soon as possible. One even bluntly (without a smile, or an apology) told me to make another booking ‘if I had anything else’ to report as they had no more time (after no more than a few minutes of consultation). This approach left me feeling intimidated, half-listened to and loathe to discuss intimate symptoms having totally lost trust in the process. I do empathise with the very real time constraints and patients must use the few minutes available in the most constructive and efficient manner, but surely the consultation takes no longer if doctors are polite, caring, calm and concerned, making communication more accurate, efficient and fruitful.

Review titled Terrible - Econsult is a poor service
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Amar - Posted on 17 October 2023
Doctors consistently hiding behind E-Consult, you have an issue which needs attention then but they book appointments weeks later or give a diagnosis over the phone when they haven't even examined you. They constantly advise you to got Urgent Care which then puts undue pressure on these services when a Doctor is there for these ailments

Dear Patient Thank you for your feedback. I would like to reassure you that our clinical team would only advise patients to go to urgent care if they felt this course of action was appropriate. Patients are able to book routine appointments on-line or by telephoning the practice. Patients who require an urgent appointment are required to complete an e-consult form on line to enable the duty clinical team to triage the problem/symptoms, this ensures that patients who need an urgent appointment are seen as priority over patients that do not necessarily need to be seen on the same day. Kind regards Lisa Wilson - Practice Manager
