Called at 8am for appointment. Offered call back rather than wait for 26 people ahead of me to dealt with. Received call, appointment booked for same morning. Arrived early, seen almost straight away. Fantastic service, caring thorough and understanding. Couldn't have asked for anything better. Thank you

Review titled Excellent reception staff and excellent nurses
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Daphne Mossop - Posted on 11 April 2024
I have been receiving B12 injection for some years now and the Reception staff and the nurses have always been polite, friendly and more than helpful at all times. I have witnessed the uncalled rudeness Reception staff have received and they have always been more than impressed with the polite and stoically manner they deal with these people. The nurses who over the years for my B12 injections are absolutely awesome insofar as they have gone above and beyond. As a result of their genuine enquiries about my health I have had regular blood pressure checks, a blood pressure monitor, ECG and a blood check all done to monitor my health, 'just to be on the safe side '. This is why I felt compelled to write a 'glowing ' report because I really feel they are sometimes unappreciated and unsung heroes. Their professionalism and vigilant care also helps free up a doctor's valuable time . Thank you so much to Reception staff and nurses for all the care you have given me.

Review titled Disappointing feedback
Rated 3 stars out of 5

When trying to get a telephone consultation with a doctor at the Bosmere Medical Practice, I was instead given a link to register and book a video consultation using the Push Doctor App. I spoke to a Push Doctor who listened to all my symptoms relating to an underactive thyroid - feeling very tired, aching and stiff muscles, feeling cold all the time and recently showing high blood cholesterol even though the doctor said it was not due to weight or diet and was probably genetic. I was not aware, since reading the Nhs Thyroid Symptoms Information, that with an underactive thyroid there is also a greater risk of high cholesterol. She was very helpful and gave lots of useful advice. After looking at my recent thyroid blood test results, she said she would arrange to have both the t4 and t3 thyroid levels checked. I had this new thyroid blood test taken at The Bosmere Medical Practice. After ringing the surgery for the results, I was told that the Tsh and t4 levels were normal and the levels for t3 had not been taken. A doctor from the Practice then sent a text to say there was really no benefit to checking t3 levels. I am disappointed that the t3 levels had not been checked and that they were not considered important, even though the Push Doctor had indicated that they were. My current prescription of Levothyroxine medication (100 micrograms) would therefore not be reviewed and my levels of thyroxine would continue to be monitored annually through blood tests even though I am still suffering from all the symptoms described above which can be linked to an underactive thyroid. I was very satisfied with the service and information provided by the Push Doctor and the use of the Push Doctor App. However, I am very dissatisfied that The Bosmere Medical Practice have been unwilling to take into account the comments made by the Push Doctor.

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I had a blood test room 8, on 4thJuly 2023. Unfortunately I didn't take note of the nurse. But she was so professional, polite, charming and made me feel at ease. I never even felt the needle. Credit where's it's due. Thank you

Review titled Used to be great...

Pre COVID I couldn't fault this surgery, I was seen promptly but a caring GP and I felt I was being helped with a long term condition I have that needs constant review. Unfortunately the GP I was seeing has now retired and I've not been able to see a GP since. I have tried to call to get appointments on several occasions to be told there are none left and to call again. My condition is not urgent but requires continuity of care. Unfortunately at 8am I'm on the road taking my children to school so I can't call then and each time I've tried to call in the afternoon I seem to be too late. Online booking doesn't appear to have been reopened since COVID (or I just miss it every time). I did had a telephone consult (which I really don't like!) and was asked if I was in the medical profession as I "knew so much", I said no but that I know a lot about my condition and it was obvious the GP I spoke to didn't :( I'm going to try another practice now as I'm concerned if I need support with my children I won't get it.

Review titled Fobbed off everytime
Rated 1 star out of 5

Called this morning for an appointment, on hold for 20 minutes to be told "appointments had gone, phone in the afternoon." The Practice opens at 1.30pm so I called on the dot to be caller 30, after 25 minutes of holding too be told "no appointments again". The Practice told me they only had 10 appointments that afternoon and there were 29 in front of me! The Practice has become too big and still take on more patients but there's no more doctors, if anything they are leaving. This Practice is a joke!!! I've been suffering with something for a year and its situations like this put me off calling because I don't get anywhere, just upset and angers me.

Review titled Patronising doctors
Rated 1 star out of 5

I had an appointment (01/06/2023) 4pm only to be seen an hour later (understand they don’t run to schedule but this took the biscuit when I was in pain. I have had an ongoing issue for 3 months and was told by the last doctor to come back if condition wasn’t any the better which I did and to only be, what I felt like, fobbed off. I have never seen any two doctors more patronising than these two I saw today, one being a student doctor, which I wasn’t told it was a student doctor. I appreciate they have to learn. I was in the for an hour in the consulting room to be fobbed off with them saying I have a pulled muscle.
