Review titled Worst practice I have experienced
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 27 March 2025
Lived in North, North East and out of London registered with various practices but have never had worst experiences than at Broadway. Impossible to get through morning or afternoon. Waiting on call 20, 30, 40min often being cut off to have to try again and wait again. 8am registration impossible as never picking up the calls. When I was able bodied (I'm now house bound) I would resort to walking to the surgery whilst waiting on call to try to get an appointment. Receptionist would insist that I need to call so I would show them that I am on call and have been for 25min whilst walking. This was the only way I could get an appointment. Now my daughter has to take time off work to take me to appointments but that is not possible with this GP because you never know when you will be able to get an appointment so she can't take time off. I had stroke in Jul 2024, have been in hospital and away in rehabilitation for a few months but have not managed to get an appointment since then. They have recently stopped my regular prescription because they say they want a consultation but when I ask for appointment I can't get to see even nurse let alone a GP. They have now renewed my prescription without consultation so God help everything is correct. I have been taking heartburn medication for over half year and only a month ago I was told actually you should not be taking this because it contradicts with your other medication making it inactive! I was diagnosed as pre-diabetic and they are sending me links and documents that I can't open because system doesn't work but also I'm an old person and not tech savvy (daughter has to do all my repeat prescriptions and online communications because they are forcing you to use this econsult). Luckily I have daughter who can help me a bit but if I was on my own I would have had no chance to ever get anything from this GP practice.

Review titled Terribly difficult to make appointment
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 01 April 2025
It's almost impossible to make an appointment. I called on two different days exactly a 8:00 a.m. After getting through and being on the queue for 20 min, I was told, "sorry no more appointments left, call again". Second day, call starting 7:59. Phone engaged. Constantly called using 2 phones. After 2 minutes when I got through, it said, the queue is full. How can it get full in 2 min when phone is full. Out of desperation Iran to the surgery, receptionist spent more time arguing with me about I shouldn't do that, whilst not tending to the calls. Before I spoke to her, she was not in any urgency and chatting with someone else. I was told, there are 8000 patients and they can't cope. No other surgery is this bad, when I talk to my friends. The only good gp and the nurse is brilliant. On another occasion I saw a horrible incompetent locum doctor! She plainly said dizziness might be due to ear infection. I had to prompt her, "do you want to check" or do I need referral?

Review titled Good GPs Admin Side Needs Improvement
Rated 3 stars out of 5

GP was attentive, gave helpful explanations and advice. Cannot fault her. Telephone consultation was booked for 10am, despite reminders indicating appointment would be any time between 9am and 11am. Tried to call surgery to check if perhaps I'd missed the call or appointment had been cancelled but couldn't get through. Emailed surgery only to be told appointments don't run to time and depends on how clinic runs on the day. Actual call was received just after 12.15pm. Some variations in time are to be expected, but it is not acceptable to have an appointment time of 10am, to be told to expect a call between 9am and 11am but not to receive a call until 12.15pm. This is especially the case given that appointments are randomly cancelled without notifying patients (as happened to me recently in relation to an appointment arranged at the request of the surgery with the in house pharmacist). Essentially this means that patients are waiting hours not knowing if the appointment is just delayed or not taking place.

Thank you for your feedback. I apologise for the delay, but on receiving this we have decided to inform patients that they will receive a call on the day either morning or afternoon. Regards, Practice manager Hopefully, this will helps patients rather than waiting for an appointment at a particular given time.

Review titled Great practice not
Rated 1 star out of 5

Waited in queue position one for 20 mins. Remained unanswered. Impossible to get an appointment here. When you call at 8am, it's says on the day appointments are gone. How is that possible. The reception staff have no empathy, it's tough attitude from them. They talk with a dull tone, like you just woke them up. Try tomorrow, call at 8am they say. Really. I tried for months at 8am, redialled 62 times. Nothing. What do they do in that place. You walk in and the place is empty. They need investigating.

Review titled Poor experience

Have attended this GP for years but it’s just not working for patients anymore. Unable to get appointments- even e consults never working. When you do get an appointment it’s usually a locum who literally doesn’t care - I was cut off giving my medical history and not explained the side effects of the medication I was prescribed. Refused a review appointment even though I explained I had waited weeks for this appointment and didn’t want to be left if things weren’t working. Appointments are all telephone and mine lasted 7 mins so no excuse for me to have not been fully informed but Dr just wanted me off the phone. No duty of care.

I had the pleasure of seeing an advance nurse practitioner today, and I am genuinely impressed with the care I received. From the moment I walked in, she made me feel at ease with her warm and welcoming demeanor. Her thorough approach and clear explanations helped me understand my health concerns in a way that was both comforting and informative. I left the appointment feeling reassured and well-informed, I am grateful for her support and would highly recommend her to anyone. Thank you

Review titled Most badly run surgery I’ve ever come across
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Tina - Posted on 30 August 2024
After requesting a prescription last Friday by e-mail for my 88 year old mother who is a bad diabetic , for eye drops needed after a cataract operation, I was told by e-mail that they would be ready yesterday (Thursday 29 th August) My mother phoned the chemist yesterday to see if they were ready. They were not !!!!! She phoned the dr, to see what was happening and they said they would phone her back … They didn’t!!!!! I rang the dr myself this morning to be told the prescription was in with the doctor and they didn’t know when it would be ready My mother has now been without these eye drops for 5 days now, and still doesn’t know when she will get them If something goes wrong with her eyes I am holding the Broadway surgery totally responsible

Review titled Appointment with pharmacist
Rated 2 stars out of 5
by Lisa Barden - Posted on 09 August 2024
I have waited since 1pm today for a telephone consultation with the pharmacist to discuss test results. It is now 8pm and have not received a phone call. I have tried 4 times to call the surgery to ask advice and each time was on hold for extended periods. This level of service is not good enough.
