Call at 8am for a telephone consultation only then to be advised whether you eill get seen by a GP. The telephones never get answered. The receptionists are rude. When you're sick, you expect some kindness but they are extremely unprofessional. There used to be a fee GPs working here but it seems there is only 1 left This practice is managed badly and its impossible to see a GP unless you go via 111.

Thank you for your response. I am sorry you are so unhappy with us at present. We have three GPs working here at the surgery, plus one long term locum. We offer an average of 40 on the day appointments every day Monday to Friday. We have online booking, we have pre bookable slots, numerous face to face slots available. We also have a nurse, two HCAs assistants with availability every week day. Our reception staff work very hard and do their best, and I appreciate if you are unwell kindness is required. I visited yesterday and I can say that I was welcomed in a professional and kind way by the doctor, who explained the situation to me very clearly. The staff at the reception, equally courteous and still having some difficulty with the English language, are always very clear and helpful in explanations Thank you

In any organisation where the staff are under a lot a pressure, inevitably there are bound to be occassional errors made. It is how they are dealt with that really matters. Just before Christmas there was an error made in my repeat prescription. The practice Reception staff apologised politely and sorted it out for me quickly efficiently and cheerfully. My experience with the Reception staff has always been similar to this, as has my experience with all other staff at the practice.

Lovely practice with great doctors and practice nurse. Most of the reception staff are nice also. but getting through to surgery for an appointment has changed since Covid, so isn’t always easy. appointments for the day go extremely quickly!!

Our telephony has changed with more options since Covid, but we are offering more appointments than pre covid so I am sorry if you have found this difficult. I had a blood pressure check and the person that attended to me was very helpful and supportive. She also checked if I am on any medication. I told her that I am on medication but haven’t been taking it because sometimes I do forget to take it. She then went to speak to the doctor and requested a blood test for me. She encouraged me to take my medication because that will help me with my condition. She asked me to bring my medication to my next appointment. I went to the surgery for my next blood pressure check yesterday and the result was better than the previous one. It has improved a lot so I am grateful that I was encouraged to continue to take my tablets.

My father in law has tried for over 2 weeks every morning to get an appointment with no joy. Today, within 4 mins, all appointments had gone. Finally spoke to receptionist who said ‘we didn’t have many appointments to offer today anyway.’ Just appalling, he’s an OAP who’s been contacted to see the doctor and it’s impossible. Literally no service at all. Shocking

I am sorry to hear of your disappointment, may i please ask if you were offered a pre bookable appointment which would not have been 2 weeks away? We do not advise that patients continue to call each day we try and offer alternatives. I would like to discuss with your father, but as this review is anonymous it will not be possible. Seen on time for an injection, over very quickly and effeciently. Always informative and explains next test / consulation. A very professional and pleasant experience.

I had to see the nurse who was very friendly and explained everything very clearly. She also got the advice of a GP immediately which speeded everything up. I am very happy with Broadway Surgery in general. The receptionists are also very friendly and approachable.

I received a message to make an appt for the shingle’s vaccine. The first appointment was cancelled due to staff u/a. The next appt on 12th December I was told the criteria had changed and I no longer qualified. A waste of a valuable appt which someone else could have had

Thank you for your feedback. I am sorry you had a wasted appointment, and I agree this could have been used for a different patient/reason. Also thank you for your understanding when staff are unwell, this is unfortunate, but happens. Regarding the criteria changing only our practice nurse would be au fait with current guidelines, again I can only apologise.
